It detects tempo and key and adjusts them to go together. You can literally put anything in there and it will at least be the same tempo, the key doesn't always match up though.

That's fair. I want to say it's less from the same genre, but more of, hits the same beats, but in my experience, some songs that should work out together still turn out terrible.
