I'm operating under the assumption each day would be an adventure in the dark world with a different classmate. At the very least I expect the bird and deer to be party members, and maybe a guest star party member Papyrus as a sidequest in chapter 2.

You know, Undertale was supposed to be a retelling of the story of Brandish, a game Toby was strangely fond of. Some fuck falls into the underground ruins of a fallen kingdom and has to merc a king at the end.
Though it is eyebrow raising that he decided to do it a second time. It's unlikely he'll visit the well again.

Well you're in luck, because Toby said he won't release the rest of the game until the whole thing is done. It's not gonna be an episodic release thing, Chapter 1 was basically a demo.

Deltarune is a pretty self contained experience and toby is literally using to gauge interest rather than waste effort on something he isn't sure will work and garner feedback.
It's not that big a deal and like said it's going to come out all at once when it does get finished.
