Holy shit

I PUSH MY FINGERS INTO MY..
EYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

>tfw I unironically loved listening to shit like Slipknot and Korn back in the day

Are we just going back in time?
Tool is back, Slipknot and Korn are back and (apparently) putting some effort into their shit for the first time in decades.
Are we just regressing into the past because there's no future left?

>Tool is back
wait what

Ye.

youtube.com/watch?v=q7DfQMPmJRI

Seriously i think humanity is just giving up.
We're just going back because there's no foward.
That's why the '80 craze, and now this.
Between retarded boomers and zoomers there's probably nothing to look foward to anymore so people just obsess over the past and our artistic output is mirroning this.

They released a new track yesterday. Like, for real.

Exclusively for the Sony Walkman as well..
nintenbros, it's over

the first korn album was unironically good

When will Greenday finally admit that they're pretty much dadrock now?

A lot of Korn stuff is unironically good, never understood why they have such a stigma.
Yeah it's edgy/depressing but unlike shit like Linkin Park, it's all legitimate and comes from a real place of having a fucked up childhood and unironically getting raped.
When music is genuine it always comes out good, even if it's edgy.

Additionally unlike LP Korn always at least tried to experiment and branch out.

And the second one. And the third one. And the fourth one. And the fifth one.
And then it goes to shit, though I still like Untitled.

I listened to it for the first time last month. That shit is basically progressive groove metal, like what the fuck it's goddamn solid.

>unlike LP

LP only repeated themselves once with Meteora. Every other album they've done was substantially different from each other.

scaruffi cucks spotted

why does Yea Forums have such shit taste?

I don't like liars user.

You can make the old joke about "Yea Forumscore music" but you'd be wrong because even Yea Forums is happy about this right now.

OP didn't post a video game.

>LP
Man remember when Points of Authority's music video came out?

That, LP and Limp Bizkit.

My 13 year old self thought they were the coolest bands ever.

but Yea Forums are a bunch of stupid twats

Wes Borland is a legit incredibly talented musician and he was utterly wasted in that band.
His solo effort as Black Light Burns wasn't amazing but it showed some potential.

New album comes out at the end of this month user.

13 fucking years I've waited

I remember when everyone started talking about LP when I was like 12, and then the first time I heard it I was like "wtf is this shit, this isn't good at all"

LP is a fantastic pop band if you can overlook the lyrics. Their hooks hit like a tank and their ear for melody is respectable.

That was the shit
youtube.com/watch?v=GgxcvmkPD-I

grow some self awareness damn toddler

After all these years I still think it's awesome.

Really, you didn't even like "my way"?
The guitar in that one is orgasmic.
I get it that Fred Durst will turn anyone off (rightfully so, he's a cunt), but when you focus on the music itself there's some good shit.

Attached: derp.jpg (980x652, 62K)

No, retard. The reason we're seeing the same shit again and again is because people aren't willing to take risks with their money and want guarantees on sales.

>Their music is good if you take out all the words
That would just make it atonal incoherent screaming. Which I guess is slightly better because it would at least be more honest.

Attached: 1545000147873.gif (400x300, 1.64M)

Wouldn't even be atonal because Chester was actually a talented vocalist.

SPIRAL DOWN. Keep. Going. SPIRAL DOWN.

Is SOAD coming back too?

This reminds me of a gook MMORPG back in the day that got like SEAmonkey bands to make music for each of their race to promote the game.

I distinctly remember this because when I was still playing WoW, me and my mates were talking about bands involved with MMOs so some flip dude in the guild mentioned it.

>never understood why they have such a stigma.
I like a lot of their older stuff, but after Issues it just seemed like everything they put out wasn't as good. I think it's mostly that.

I honestly didn’t know about this until I got the new Guitar World in the mail.

Pretty happy desu

this is flip music? you aight brown boys

>unlike shit like Linkin Park, it's all legitimate and comes from a real place of having a fucked up childhood and unironically getting raped.
But the lead singer Chester did experience all that shit. Why the fuck do you think he killed himself?

>Are we just regressing into the past because there's no future left?
Not exactly. A shitload of people say they miss the culture from around that era, partially because it just felt more genuine. A lot of the most popular music today isn't even made by a band, it's just an individual person with a producer behind them because it's easier to market an individual, which is why a bunch of them advertise for soda and junk food and shit too. I think most of the reasons for that is because it's easier to appeal to more people and make more money, but it ends up with everything feeling fake.

>Yeah it's edgy/depressing but unlike shit like Linkin Park, it's all legitimate and comes from a real place of having a fucked up childhood and unironically getting raped.
I'm not a huge LP fan, but honestly, the only problem with them was how overused their music was in gaming videos which might be why you dislike them.

youtube.com/watch?v=v2H4l9RpkwM

Are you 12?

How do we feel about the early-00s lads?

I'd argue that some artists on bandcamp and such are more genuine than music in most other points in time.
It's just you, them, and their discography, sometimes recorded in their own house.

But i guess from a mainstream point of view things are more artificial than ever.

Christ, I bet you also talked outta your ass back when you were just an edgy little shit

Attached: okay.gif (245x235, 992K)

True, if you don't mind putting in the effort of finding them then there are less barriers to finding such musicians today.

>But i guess from a mainstream point of view things are more artificial than ever.
That's mostly what it is.

I started listening to some Slipknot albums again and some of them have some really good songs on them. Vol. 3 is probably my favorite, but their first album is good too. Iowa is boring.

For all the memes about I PUSH MY FINGERS INTO MY EEEEEYES that video is actually fun as hell.

>Slipknot makes a new album that blows everyone away
>Tool album is finally dropping
>Banjo-Kazooie made it to Smash
>WoW Vanilla is getting an official release soon

what the hell is going on this year

whats up wit americans and corn?
>put corn in your food
>put corn in your coke
>put corn in your gas tank
>put corn into your music

Unrelated, but dookie is unironically kino

It looks like Slipknot's new album is more experimental stuff which is what they were always best at, so I'm looking forward to listening to it.

Corn is America's god.

>my brother used to save bestiality porn in his music folders
>tfw found 2 gb worth of low video quality zoo porn in a korn folder (we are talking about 2003 here, so there were tons of 2 mins clips)
>during 5 years of my life I thought Korn was slang for zoo porn and that they were secretly producing it
Man, so fucking weird

because he was a weak faggot

Shitskins, kikes, and filthy goys.

>think Slipknot is cringe shit for edgy 14-year olds
>unironically LOVE pic related

Don´t know why bros, I heard them first when they dropped their first single in 2012 or so, thought it was total shit and disregarded them until last year when I stumbled upon Gimme Chocolate by chance. Can´t stop listening to them almost daily ever since and already been to a concert and planning to attend at least 3 more next year. Help

>Liking nu-metal
Never the less this is not videogames

I'm not gonna say he was weak, i'm sure there were solid reasons for his constant depression.
But i think there's a big difference between "everything sucks i'm always depressed" and "i'm depresed because as a kid i was literally fucked up the ass and it destroyed me mentally for the rest of my life".

One of the two has more legitimacy to it.

Attached: 589.jpg (540x720, 43K)

nu metal and death metal are cool to look now, pretending to be goth is cool for cute girls now, so if you don't have an actual picture of you with a Korn or Slipknot shirt in the 90s or 2000s you're an actual faggot.

It means you're unironically a c umbrain.
Seriously.
You're the simplest among the simpletons.

>nu metal
>pretending to be goth
Sorry but what the fuck are you even saying?

Attached: 1335441467288.jpg (424x417, 16K)

You're out of the loop. Young meme girls love the big tiddy goth gf meme. It's a thing.

Based reddit-memes bud, really hitting hard

>tfw gave away my tattered slipknot hoodie to my high school gf at the time
RIP, I wonder if she still has it though?

Wasn't Jonathan Davis a goth in high school?
