It is feasible for a new player to start it and actually have other low levels to run content with?

I liked it at console release, but it was a really buggy low fps mess (which still wasn't fixed when I checked it out last month because they offered me like $50 premium credit and months of subscription) so I decided to try out the PC version, and I saw what a shitheap it was and how they ruined the really simple progression system for something obtuse and really just annoying with the dumbest timegates, it spooked me off the game.

The people that run the company are a bunch of lying shits. I participated in their very first leveling event that rewarded players with items all the way up to permanent mounts as they leveled. So I leveled a character to max level and then they didn't give me the rewards for the character I leveled during the event. They gave me the single level 60 reward for a character that was already max level before the event even started and then refused to give me the correct rewards on the character I played during the event. So they fucked me out of 59 levels worth of rewards. I canceled my account because of it. Fuck them.

Mainly stopped because people don't stay in the game very long, even at endgame. It's very much a flavor of the patch thing. But game-wise, every patch removed something I liked about the game until there was hardly anything left to keep me playing. Introducing the BDO style fishing and level 70 leveling grind is what convinced me to never return. However, I do still like to watch Tera streams for vicarious reasons.

I downloaded it semi recently. They give free legendary weapons every 5 levels completely doing away with the joy of getting a slightly better weapon. This also makes enemies die immediately so you're just playing a stupidly slow musou game while you level. Don't have to dodge or do anything, just attack blindly in front of you. Same with lower level dungeons.
They also nerfed all the BAMs which used to feel great to defeat, turning it into what is basically a regular ass monster. That's why I stopped. They obviously don't want me to actually "play" any part of their game, so I won't.

I don't understand, at what point did people actually do any of the PvP content? I remember getting Nightforge/VM2 and then quitting because barely anyone actually played anything outside of Clusterfuck Stronghold.

The problem is that I can't fucking do anything because I have to do a 5 man dungeon and no one plays the fucking game. I remember sitting in queue for an hour for a storyline dungeon and saying that fuck it and just left.

I got bored, went to play something else and eventually forgot about it. Might start again, I always want to play an MMO but I can never last long enough to reach endgame.
Maybe on console, I think it's one of two free MMOs and free games usually have a steady of players because alot of people don't want to pay for PS+.

This is why it died. MULTIPLE 0 skill new classes that completely killed PvP. To this day I can't believe how more powerful the next class was to the previous, it made us think "okay THIS class is the most OP thing ever", then the next one came and it was even worse. To solidify that fact, the new classes had less than half the skills of any of the original classes. You just needed to press 1, 2, 3 on your keyboard and you're unironically most likely already done

No content that was worth playing, leveling was too slow, then it was too fast. Horrible cutscenes, a story that wasn't worth caring about and despite how good gameplay started, it gets boring quickly.

These are exactly why I quit. Being WELL geared was an endeavor only really the most autistic people could pull off, and do so repeatedly as new, much better sets kept coming out.

Nerfing bams was just really sad. I really enjoyed when the game first came out and soloing/duoing them gave me an actual sense of accomplishment. Year 1 TERA was the last MMO I actually truly enjoyed.

I was thoroughly disappointed by character creation, particularly how elin hairstyles were tied to certain ears and that was far from what I wanted. Since I couldn't make the elin I wanted due to their bizarre design choices I made a grafics cat for fun and then stopped playing shortly after.

Felt like a daily game, you'd log in, do some dungeons/kill BAMs/bit of PvP, get your 7/7 rewards and anything you do afterwards is mostly a waste of time. The most efficient way to play was to level alts and do your dailies on them as well. I have 4 65s before I said fuck it and realized I was just doing dailies all day besides the occasional hard dungeon with the guild and kept wiping on.

I signed on for the first time in a long time in hopes maybe I could come back, only to find everything in my bank and much of my total inventory was now worthless or only to be sold to an NPC merchant. There were no more campfires, or exhaustion mechanic, dying, I presume, now no longer has any real punishment except for loss of crystals if you even have any equipped.
Shit's been power creeped to hell and back, seeing one Slayer with a greatsword that did 2m damage base, and not mentioning all the new classes which deal metric fuck tons of damage just by existing next to an enemy.
I get those mechanic did nothing but slow the game down, and the only real player base are those that have been playing forever, but the SOUL is gone, and never coming back.
