I can't test it since my NG+ file is at the endgame, but based on the google translated version of that guy's tweet, it seems like in NG+ runs there's a tiny window of opportunity at the start of the second half of the Jin/Malos fight to open the menu and fast travel somewhere else, keeping the special unlimited version of Pneuma active.
He also says something about Tora and Nia needing three blades that I don't really understand.

Well, yeah, that's basically every jrpg ever, the first 10-12h are always a slog. Playing Vesperia right now, and the combat finally starts to opens up. Though XC2 indeed takes it to 11. Combat will feel satisfying after Chapter 3 once you get 3 Blades. Also a bit before that once the game tells you about Driver Combos. After that it's a blast, just make sure you understood the "cancel" thing where you use an art right on the end of your third auto attack, as it charges the arts gauge, and make sure to unlock Rex's skills where you start a battle with the Arts charged on the face buttons, and the one where you can chain arts. Plus, make sure to buy items to put them in your pouches, some of them increase the arts recharge thus making the battle flow better. Try to understand the Orbs mechanic when it's introduced, even though you won't really use it at first, it'll become an integral part of the battle system.

The Japanese fanbase finds a lot of this kind of stuff. Quick reminder as there are a bunch of new players:
-Screencap tutorials because there isn't a reasonable way to view them again.
-Rex automatically gets fantastic blades so you don't need to give him much Blades from the gacha (but give him 2 or 3 good Blades)
-Use Pouch Items as much as possible, especially the ones that lets you recharge your Arts faster. Makes the flow of the battle better.
-On skill trees, you will see an ability unlock "Cancel a driver art with another driver art". It's imperative that you unlock this ASAP because it boosts the flow of battle tremendously.
-Also get the 3 skills that lets you start a battle with the Art already charged on the X, Y and B buttons
-Understand the Attack Cancelling mechanic, as it makes the flow of the battle better by recharging Arts quickly
-Swapping blades refills their arts palette.
-You can combo into and out of swapping blades.
-Most enemies will aggro you if you aren't 8 levels above them. And look at your environment before taking a step in the wild, or you could get your ass raped by a Gorilla 80 levels over you. But the game don't punish you for exploring, so don't be afraid to do it.
-Don't use too much bonus XP at inns unless you really need to because it can completely trivialize the game.
-Focus on the Driver Combo of Break > Topple > Launch > Smash when they will be introduced. The sooner you can understand this set up, the better.
-You can raise trust between a Driver and their Blade by repeatedly using pouch items over and over again. It costs money, but later in the game money is a non-issue.
-Raising trust with your Blade is needed to unlock the Blade's skill tree in most cases.
-Don't waste protocol overdrives. Especially on common blades. The game only gives you a few.
-DON'T kill the little Arduran in Torigoth until you feed it to Lv.99. He'll become the best Legendary Cores farming spot.

Who is Nia, in Xenoblade 2's plot? She's not the main character. She's not the love interest. She's not the villain - she's a sidekick who dishes out snarky remarks and offers a different perspective on the game's themes. A good character, but not as vital a character to the overall storyline as Jin. If I was going to cut XB2 down to just three characters, she wouldn't be one.

None of the characters develop, they have the personality of a brick wall (the ones that get the most screen time, at least), and the pacing is worse than its predecessor. You don't play XC2 for the story. Pretty much every other big JRPG on the Switch has a better story, from Ys VIII to Tales of Vesperia.

It's strange that everyone is complaining about mobs taking forever to kill, but I had the exact opposite issue.
We had this intricate combo system, yet mobs never lived long enough to utilize properly, sometimes not even bosses, only endgame superbosses.
I'm starting to think that either I was constantly overlevelled, or people who say this simply don't understand the battle system, like at all, on a fundamental level they don't know what they are doing.
Also note that I never felt the mobs took too long even on lower levels when not every mechanics were unlocked.
