>Comes out next month on PC & Switch
Are they still good games or are they only good for nostalgia?
Comes out next month on PC & Switch
they were never good games they just had a really comfy aesthetic which is missing from these soulless remakes anyway
>are they still good
mechanically yes, the artstyle of the remake leaves a bit to be desired. I don't have the image but I'm sure someone here has the spyro color palette picture
Would you recommend this to someone who has never played Spyro, but has played other platformers like Crash Bandicoot?
Just play the original Spyro games, they still look fucking great and play perfectly.
Not him, but yeah.
the remaster is good if you havent played the originals. would not recommend the switch just because even the xbox one and ps4 pro had slowdown, so i cant imagine the shitch running it well
i havent played the remakes and dont want to. why? because i played the originals when i was like 7 and dont care about it anymore
just play the originals, theyre free
I'm playing the remaster right now, just 120%d 1 and it was amazing. Started 2 and beat Colossus and fuck this remaster is great so far. Ignored it for a year due to Yea Forums, Christ im retarded. Though I know 3 is apparently the game with issues, but I just mean the general witchhunt against it before it even came out and since.
The games themselves are just relaxing, simple collectathons based on fun level design.
That's like saying "you don't know what you're missing out on so it's not that bad". The remakes are just flat out inferior from the designs, to the aesthetic, to the music. Just play the damn originals, I don't know why people are scared for 5th gen games now.
>The remakes are just flat out inferior ... to the music.
Didn't they bring back Stewart Copeland to re-do the music? And isn't there any option to swap to the PS1 music anyway?
They really aren't you just can't handle that they're different. The sliding on ice in 2 is the defi ition of Soul. There is a lot of love put into this, despite your autism about sky colors.
Copeland just redid the main theme. They had some in-house person remake all of the tracks...and personally, I hated the new versions. Fortunately, the game comes with the option to switch over to the original OST, which is far superior in every regard.
No, they brought in someone to rearrange the original Steward Copeland music.
2 of the games were handed off to literal who chink companies and were broken as fuck for the longest time. There's so much wrong with the remake that I don't see a single legitimate reason not to just play the damn originals since they still hold up perfectly.
I couldn't put 1 down after i picked it back up. 2 and 3 are still good, but i can't play through all three without stopping.
>PC allows 120fps
Its gonna be great
As long as you're not too picky over some of the aesthetic-changes (or the bugs in YotD) they're pretty excellent remakes. Spyro games are generally easy but mechanically satisfying to play nonetheless, and the devs really did put a shitton of soul into the remakes, even if it's more of their own style.
At worst they just inspired all the threads here to switch from bitching about the skyboxes/models to frequent gayposting over the dragons.
Worse than the originals but still the best platformer of the entire generation
even better than crash?
honestly can't wait for the switch release. I don't give a heck what Yea Forums thinks.
>I don't give a heck
They have SOUL
nah, fuck your bad vibes man
Spyro 1 is okay
2 is crap
I'm convinced 3 is the original code ported in to an engine that can't handle it, it's so fucken buggy.
