This requires someone to already have control over your computer.
Windows users are so stupid they don't understand the difference between root/admin and user permissions anyway. And it barely matters on Windows anyway.
Steam sets a registry key that basically allows a non-privledged user on a PC to run a program with admin permissions.
This has zero effect on a single-user desktop PC.

Cool source, might as well made a thread saying "I'm a huge faggot please rape my face"
me standing up
amonitoring.ru
It's real.
It doesn't effect single-user desktop PCs though.
It is a big problem for something like gaming cafe computers with Steam though.
Not OP btw
>It is a big problem for something like gaming cafe computers with Steam though.
Soo.. it is an Asia-Only problem?
literally no one in my area uses "gaming cafe computers"
Basically. Imagine a gaming cafe PC with Steam installed
Normally these are locked down so a user couldn't install programs, this Steam bug would allow someone to install or run anything they want on that computer with admin permissions.
STEAM DRONES NOOO THIS WAS NOT THE PLAN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I think they lock them down with deep freeze user.
I've used SEA PC cafes once. Most of the high profile ones use DeepFreeze don't they?
With admin permissions you could disable deep freeze.
Sure they might eventually realize...
There's many other ways to fuck up someone aside from a bug on steam, what makes you think they won't be after you if they see you installing shit?
lol you couldnt install anything on pcs in gaming cafes 20 years ago
and every pc would just be a copy of a master server that is also protected
it would load the contents like an image ever time you turned the pc off and on or restart
this only affects windows at an os level so there is zero chances it will affect even lan gaming cafes that use these normal precautions
exactly
this is either a smear piece or most likely some dumb 1337 hackerfaggot advertising his blog
we know OP is the former and a per-reply epic shill
probably some dumb russian fag from russian Yea Forums under orders from their boss galyonkin who works for epic
>Malware has a big obvious installer GUI
You could run complex malware that doesn't even open a window
You could disable deep freeze with this.
This is a legitimate problem for gaming cafes, any Windows privledge escalation exploit is.
you dont need steam to disable deep freeze
this is not a problem for anyone
If you can do that you wouldn't need an steam exploit user. Besides what would you steal from a "gaming cafe", passwords of poor kids? Would you be doing an investiation to know when the owner is using his credit card so you can time your heist?
Seriously user.
You need some kind of privilege escalation exploit to do it.
>If you can do that you wouldn't need an steam exploit user.
What? You need the Steam exploit (or some other privilege escalation exploit) to disable deep freeze.
This Steam exploit allows an unprivileged user to do literally anything they want with admin privileges on a PC.
That includes disabling deep freeze and installing complex malware.
>completely avoding the rest of the post
is this a bot?
What the hell do you even want to do with a pc cafe computer?
I would steal all the AK47 Sand Dune skins
>EoP vulnerability
>requires the ability to write to HKLM to pull it off
bravo, SO useful!
I too can upload an image that has words
install crypto miners on them.
With windows if you are in an account you can bypass basic security with a batch file. Then you can run any app you want with full admin permissions. Also pc cafe's have good pc's so miners could be useful.
The owners will still figure out that something is wrong with one particular PC if DeepFreeze gets bypassed.
>The following items on your wishlist are on sale:
>No Man's Sky
>valve has a bounty program for exploits
>they weren't ready to accept information
DOUBT.PNG
It would require complete ignorance on the owner's part, people would complain about slow computers.
These fucking gaming cafes are the source of 70% of cheaters.
Also, is this shit even allowed by Steam's TOS?
This guy is retarded.
You have to be an admin to get admin privileges through steam.
That sounds so fucking retarded. Those PCs are just rented out. What's the point of a miner if you only use it for like barely a few hours?
You're literally better off peeking over the shoulder of some dumb shmuck in that same PC cafe to catch a glimpse of their password of credit card number.
What the fuck, Tim????

Hello chink nigger
You don't send exploit though steam support you send it though another pannel.

Now if you do not stop posting this I will post the pasta and get some of my friends to sage and derail this thread.
You can have miners run at a fixed resource rate so it only used a certain percentage of cpu and gpu speeds.
30% or lower will go unnoticed.
