No. It is a Flawed game but it has so much good shit it is fauirly easy to ignore said flaws.
Honestly i think the biggest flaw is the "Linear" progression compared to 64, with very little opportunity to do shit "out of order" due the mandatory Shadow Mario hunts. the Moveset "Downgrade" is easy to ignore when you remember the modifiers like being able to water slide at will to build up speed and the like.
