A bit of the old ultra violence

>the Clockwork Orange
You mean Alex DeLarge? Because that's his name.
This is such a stretch. Just because he has markings around his eye doesn't make it a reference to Clockwork Orange.

>ultra violence
Doomguy confirmed for Smash!

there are worse things to reference.

Who are you quoting?

Who said it was a bad thing? Clockwork Orange is a flawless masterpiece (the film, that is. The book sucked).
It's just not a reference.

>the film, that is. The book sucked
christ I'm embarrassed by the people I share this board with sometimes

This better be bait or I'm telling Yea Forums

Clockwork orange is well known normalfag literature ala 1984, why is this shocking? Mario sunshine referenced the shining. Tell me when a game references an actually good book

Book are for burning, not looking at

The book actually ends on a hopeful note though, the movie forces jewish nihilism shit down your throat

It's obviously Gene Simmons

Book-lookers btfo

The final chapter of the book basically ruined it for me.
It tries to play off Alex's actions as a result of him being a teenager. As if it's normal for teenagers to drug and rape 10 year old girls. Besides, it's made clear that Alex is an irredeemable psychopath. Having him suddenly reform like that completely undermines the point of his character, which is that the most evil person still does not deserve to have what makes them "them" taken away from them.
Kubrick fixes this by omitting the final chapter. The film plays with our emotions and makes us question our morality, while the book soapboxes its message with a megaphone and treats the reader like an idiot.

It’s abour growing up. It’s not saying teenagers literally do what he did, it’s an exaggeration obviously.

>Clockwork Orange is a flawless masterpiece (the film, that is. The book sucked).
It's not even noon yet and this is already the dumbest thing anybody will say today.

The film is overrated, the book is genuinely bad. Read better books

You must love homestuck.

Pretty sure it's a Kiss reference

Don’t even know what that is, I’m just saying maturity is a big theme in the book. It’s written by a catholic or something so he’s obviously not justifying that behaviour but I guess the whole free will thing is important to christians

But it's not about growing up. It's about free will. It's about what makes a person who they are, and whether even the worst person deserves to have their love of Beethoven taken away from them.
The final chapter just preaches what we already know by having him change for no reason just so he can shoehorn one final message about how you can't force people to change.

>Being a pretentious contrarian faggot
Dilate

What’s the Ludovico Technique Of video games?

'lol I made up words,' does not constitute good writing. It's a fine book but over rated by a fair amount.

BoI has an item named after it

Attached: rocketwalk.gif (500x281, 1.77M)

>but it’s not about growing up
Oh sorry I guess you are the literary expert who’s opinions are fact. Fuck the interpretations from actual academics

>It tries to play off Alex's actions as a result of him being a teenager
No it doesn't. Not at all. The point is that no matter who you are, you change as you age. It doesn't justify anything he did, and any reading of it that way is you inserting your own judgment into something that's quite simple and straightforward.

> Kubrick fixes this by omitting the final chapter
Kubrik didn't know about the final chapter. He only read the American release that had removed it.

Get better taste instead of just absorbing the most mainstream normie shit. The most in your face hit you over the head with the meaning kind of stuff is obviously what rises to the surface.

t.Pretentious contrarian faggot
Laffin

You can cope and deflect all you want to act like an intellectual, im not saying anything well known is bad, just in this case there’s much better out there. I’m not criticising you but inviting you to read more and widen your frame of reference

Before finishing the film, he learned about the final chapter and decided it was better to leave it out.
And people like Alex are beyond saving. He is a person who enjoys seeing innocent people suffer. He lives only for his own pleasure. Having the final chapter would be like if at the end of American Psycho, Patrick Bateman suddenly had an epiphany and decided to be a better person out of nowhere.

That's a linoone.

That’s the whole coming of age shit, you are selfish when you are young, as you age you genuinely do see the benefit of cooperation and foregoing hedonism. The story is just this idea taken to an extreme, it’s not meant to be taken literally. IRL that guy would never get out of jail

>implying
Almost time for your nap

>intrepretations from actual academics

Kek, how pathetic. Actual academics don't know shit, they are just trying to guess the author's intention like everybody else.

Not enjoying the book is one thing. But to say the movie is better than the book is just fucking silly.

Ok I guess maybe you can construe what I said as being a pretentious elitist but at its core I just want people to read more I’m not trying to come off as intellectual, I personally think the book isn’t that great but that’s just my opinion

Assuming that was Burgess' intention, (which it wasn't), that would just make it even more retarded. There are many ways to deliver a message like that besides having the protagonist be a serial killer/rapist.
But that point is moot anyway, because the point of the novel was to be about the evil of brainwashing someone to be a better person.
The film did even that better, since it came out around the time MKUltra became public knowledge, which made it more relevant.
The film did everything right what the book did wrong.

The real reason is japanese badgers vs english ones.

Attached: 565475474.png (1082x936, 1.82M)

its A clockwork orange, not THE

So you're upset that there is a bad character in a book who doesn't get his comeuppance? Not every bad guy needs to "get his" in every piece of media. That's an incredibly immature approach.

Ok, but you say this when earlier you straight up told me that interpretation was wrong. If we are just guessing then no reasonable interpretation is wrong, and coupled with the fact books can have many themes and meanings concurrently both growing up and free will are obviously big themes

>proceeds to act like a pretentious 12 year old faggot
epic

>which it wasn’t
Please shut up you absolute pseud
>many ways to deliver that
The thing about books is that sometimes they do things in a novel way instead of just telling you to make reading it enjoyable

Fortunately, we don't have to guess, because Burgess has discussed his own book and the movie.

...wow you're stupid.
I love the movie, and not only does he get away with it at the end of the film, he BENEFITS.
My problem is with how it completely undermines his character. People like Alex are irredeemable. Someone who kills and rapes for a hobby doesn't wake up one day and just decide to change.
The film does away with that nonsense, and presents him as pure evil who you STILL end up feeling bad for against your better judgement.

Seething incel

>Before finishing the film, he learned about the final chapter and decided it was better to leave it out.
"It's too much of a pain to work this in now, let's just leave it out"

Kinda based but I'll miss my linoone bro,

No. Maybe that's an additional factor, but Kubrick's choice to leave it out is consistent with the philosophy he expresses in his other films.

read book

That’s just you projecting your determinist fantasies onto the writing of a religious person. The point of the book is that it wasn’t just in his nature to be horrible, and that while forcibly changing that is impossible, he will come to that realisation on his own and change. The film is just nihilist shit

>People like Alex are irredeemable. Someone who kills and rapes for a hobby doesn't wake up one day and just decide to change.
Something tells me you've never actually interacted with prisoners of any sort, because you are completely talking out of your ass about something you don't understand.
It's completely out of character and unrealistic for a 15-year-old to change as they grow up? What the hell are you talking about?

> The film does away with that nonsense, and presents him as pure evil who you STILL end up feeling bad for against your better judgement.
The film is good, but preaching that the film is better for being more simplistic and portraying a human being without their humanity is retarded, especially considering what the subject matter is.

What the fuck is this thread lmao

But it IS in his nature to be horrible. He's a textbook psychopath. Did Ted Bundy change? No, he didn't!

I really doubt it. Every time a new pokemon is shown off you autists make the strangest connections to justify the design. It's a dark type pokemon so it's black instead of brown, simple as that.

Also, the film isn't nihilistic. The existence of the chaplain, who has genuine morals proves that.
In any nihilistic film, the chaplain would be killed for daring to believe in right or wrong.

suprised not everyone on Yea Forums is a retarded underage zoomer who never held a book in their hands?

Whose side are you on?

What about An clockwork orange

Ah, that proves it. Nobody who has ever committed violent crime as a teenager has ever changed because Ted Bundy didn't.

Why does it look almost exactly like linoone? Are they ever fucking trying anymore?

is based on Kiss, you dumbass

Rocket Walk, no control
Lotta chopper, let it blow

did they forget about zigzagoons evolution being the exact same design only not edgy

>Yea Forums

Attached: 6745658.png (398x171, 7K)

Yes, very.

Kind of obviously based on Kiss though

why are they implying english badgers are mean?

>its a "pokemon steals ideas from digimon" episode

what the fuck is GF even doing anymore

the duality of a man

Isn't it Kiss

literally no one cares about digimon

It is

Being inhumanly based

Actually. Ogremon is based on the Violators from Spawn. I'm not joking.

Attached: Violator_true.jpg (600x900, 213K)

Actually, multiple people do. It wouldn't be on the top 100 highest-grossing media franchises ever if nobody cared about it.

Attached: 1542323799545.png (517x396, 273K)

>Mario sunshine referenced the shining
Where?

>Tell me when a game references an actually good book
Chapter 4 of TTYD is a reference to For Whom The Bell Tolls. On the same note, PM64 had a penguin author named Herringway. And while I'm at it, SPM probably had some literary references I can't recall.

true, but its X form takes inspiration from gene simmons

>Because one franchise takes inspiration from something other franchises can't use them anymore

Shit dude i didin't know poor man's Pokemon created music

>1% corporation with top hats being poison type
>le rock band reference
>omg literally me when im hungry pokemon
is this generation based on memes?

I bet you don't speak Russian, in which case your opinion on A Clockwork Orange will never hold water. Nadsat is a joy to read if you have this level youtu.be/T_PuZBdT2iM of a Slav language so you already know what malenky and iddy and starry and slooshy mean

Why did Kiss act like a havey metal band but played really standard rock n' roll?

>it's only ok when my favorite franchise does it, if its the other way around then they re copying it
>2019
>stll beleives all monster franchises are pokemon

Only the first post is me.

>poor man's Pokemon
Ironic. I didn't know Pokémon created monsters

because they look like Kiss members

its their prsentation man, look how hardcore they look

The best post on 4channel right now

Because it allows them to sell more records.
I was agog the first time I heard a kiss song and it was almost soft rock.

the 80s were full of glamrock that looked way more hardcore than they are

>nro
lol

Do you have any proof of me ever saying that digimon copied pokemon or vise versa? Some of my favorite designs from both franchises are inspired by similar things

>Zigzagoon already a shitty pokemon
>Make it 4x weak against fighting for no fucking reason.
Jesus Christ, why, just make him pure Dark

Glamrockers actually fucked though.

I dunno, I found the ending of the film a let down where he essentially returns to being exactly the same as the beginning of the film.

He's just baiting, but I must say that Calmaramon and Malamar are very similar. Is there some "upside down squid" trope going on in Japan?

Attached: Calmaramon.png (640x640, 339K)

Why did Linoone go shopping at Hot Topic?

I dunno but if it isn't it should be

how can Digimon be such a small franchise but the fanbase manages to be more pathetic and defensive than Pokemonfans? Seriously, you all are nothing more than walking Napoleon Complexes that cry about Pokemon more than you actually talk about Digimon. The best part is you manage to be the only monster-catching franchise to do this.
>Megaten fans talk about Megaten
>Monster Rancher fans talk about Monster Rancher
>DQM fans talk about DQM
>Digimon fans talk about Pokemon
Nobody likes you

lol

Me seeing these new Pokémon designs

Attached: 1135340.jpg (900x539, 96K)

In clockwork orange he had eyebrows, not a star. I see a reference to KISS.

A species is much more violent and aggressive when it knows it's dying

>he thinks that someone who commits horrible violence on people can be redeemed or change

Nah, once you go past a certain point you might as well just be offed, you're not a person anymore

The Megaten fanbase is nothing but SMTfags and Personafags throwing shit at each other actually

>forced to watch
>getting the ludicolo treatment

We had multiple Digimon threads lately. It's just that you want to pay attention to bait and respond to it like idiots

Viddy well user

>failling for the bait
have years in Yea Forums taught you nothing?

Zigzagoon is a raccoon.

>Monster Rancher fans
As a series with no fucking games how are their fans

>>Digimon fans talk about Pokemon
Nah, we talk about Digimon. Pokefags trying to bait people pretending to be Digifags do

The final evolution is going to lead to so much cropped porn shitposting.
We're in for the long haul boys.

>a gene simmons pokemon

then why are you in this thread? Or better question, why didn't the IP count rise? Don't kid yourself, you know exactly what you are doing.

>Nobody likes you
Wow I didn't know that you speak for literally every poster on this board, including me
Fuck off

Did anyone else completely missed the point of the movie and just loved the mindless violence?

Attached: a-clockwork-orange.3_f.jpg (800x478, 66K)

its evolution isn't though

>then why are you in this thread?
Because I like pokemon too?
>Or better question, why didn't the IP count rise?
Because there are 57 posters in this thread. I don't know why it's so amazing to you.

no, I have functioning braincells

There was a point? Let me guess; it didn't age well.

I understand the point of the movie AND enjoy the mindful violence.

Y'all are stupid

Attached: Kiss.jpg (329x499, 32K)

Some stuff about the greatest sin being restricting man's free will or some shit

Attached: image.jpg (630x472, 41K)

There are three kinds of people

Wow that's retarded. Kubrick's movies are a joy to watch even if they are mindboggling stupid some times.

Yeah they get fucking pretentious after a while
Eyes wide shut was honestly really fucking boring

Attached: hero_A-Clockwork-Orange.jpg (1200x500, 76K)

Yes, we saw last thread on how you're sperging out about it

>Tell me when a game references an actually good book

Mother 3 referencing The Notebook, The Proof and The Third Lie

The question about whether the state has the right to manipulate and brainwash a man to alter his nature, and that ultimately you can never truly change a man's nature. The book was more about growing up and putting aside all childish things.

Yeah I heard in the book actually grew up and become a normal citizen with a family even
The movie had a much better ending in that regard in my opinion

Attached: clockwork.png (807x526, 425K)

When will we get a pokemon based off a muppet?

Throh and Sawk

Both are still megaten.

Eyes Wide Shut was a masterpiece.
Super underrated, imo.

>M-MUH KUBRICK
God I fucking hate you entry level film pseuds. Morons like yourself seriously watch one director with a name to recognize that isn't your usual Marvel movie and you think you have seen all of what film has to offer.

Same case. They may be the same franchise but still can't stop talking about each other

No it doesn't, the book implies that society is doomed to be animals during adolescence, regardless of the generation.

I read it but i recall Alex just left the hospital and fell into another gang, i think he wasn't the leader though, since he can never shake his need for the 'ol ultra violence. i may be wrong here

The film ends at a better place in the hospital just leaves it ambiguous imo

Assuming much?
I wouldn't consider myself a "film buff" anymore than I would a general art buff. I love the arts in general.
When it comes to film, I love all kinds of directors. Kubrick, Lynch, Cronenberg, Spielberg, Tarantino, Scorsese, Bergman, Fellini, Del Toro, Jodorowsky, Peckinpah, Coen Brothers...
You read three posts and assume you know everything about my tastes.

ok

>He doesn't like Corviknight

Am i gonna have to crack your yarbles?

they're extremely territorial and badger mothers are one of the shittiest meanest things you'll ever see

How the fuck are you all so retarded, as a britbong it is clearly a badger reference, and before you ask they are cunts full of tuberculosis and anger, hence them looking evil

I mean the ones in the first reveal were based. I guess even Gamefreak knows that nu-mons look stupid since they saved all the stinkers for now.
