Need for Speed Carbon felt pretty bland and forgettable to me compared to Most Wanted, didn't even have licensed music outside of freeroam.

This is bait. In SSX3 you can freeride for a half hour without loading screens. It has progressive scan, widescreen, character customization. The levels are pretty good, maybe a bit cluttered. It had online, even though it seemed dead. Its still the best game in the series. Tricky is equal to this mostly. The last SSX game EA tried to reboot was a pile of shit. They just didn't spend time on it, and the progression system was a total mess.
