Funny thing to me is that they think its video games that are the only part of popular culture that glorifies violence. Are we not going to talk about movies, television, music etc? All of which contain media that are just as graphic as the violent video games these people are demonizing, and existed long before gaming became mainstream? I don't see the logic in banning a few select video games while ignoring literally every other media form that demonstrates graphic violence.

Just to continue my thoughts on this. There seems to be a belief that the content in these video games drives players' mental state or opinions on the content matter. For instance many would argue that an individual sees a violent game, and then says to themself, 'oh this is cool, I like this'
In reality I think it is the exact opposite. The games are catered to what people already want and what there is a demand for. And that is a result of human nature and culture that has existed for so much longer than video games have been around. We look around us and we see violence everywhere, from all the sources I mentioned and probably more. That is what has conditioned people to find it so normal, and thus paves the way for creating a demand for these games and media. The game devs are just giving people what they already want
It's not just the entretainment industry. All their government glorify violence and wage wars against countries who are rich with oil and other natural resources. America is violence itself but also total hypocrisy.
I wouldn't give a shit if they just banned video games all together, it's a waste of time, money and energy.
