In the leak it said there was a way to camp with your pokemon. If i can pet and feed any pokemon in the game ill buy it.

New pokemon SRPG developed by someone other than Gamefreak. Kind of based on that spinoff with Nobunaga but with each pokemon having at least 2 attacks at once and you getting to pick if they will mantain their old attacks or learn new ones when evolving.

They also own the Copyrights and Licenses to all of the Pokemon and characters in the Pokemon universe meaning GameFreak could be tossed aside and Nintendo could just tell another company that they have the right to use their license to make a game with.

Not a damn thing. Only a sequel to Stadium 2 or Battle Revolution can salvage Gen 8 for me now. Game Freak wouldn't be involved, so there's a decent chance we'd not only have a new game that allowed players to use ALL of their Pokémon, but one that has the battle animations, arenas, graphical fidelity, and U.I. you'd expect to see on a HD system. Nothing. I stopped playing Pokemon games years ago and I doubt putting the same game I originally played on my gameboy on a home console is gonna change that. Yeah they've added some pokemon and some fringe mechanics that don't really matter, but I've already played Pokemon Sword and Shield. And at this point I don't think the fans that are complaining really matter to Nintendo. Pokemon isn't a stand alone product that has to rely on it's quality and it's unique aspects to sell. It has long since become a brand. When you have a brand, consumers aren't buying it based on quality, they're responding to name recognition. Like a Pavlovian reflex. Despite the outcry over this game, it'll still be a hit, so Nintendo isn't going to change anything. Brands don't need to be good, they just need to be familiar.

If you want definitive proof of this, just look at the American comic book industry. Some of the worst writers yet being paid in the world, working with some of the worst artists, and yet the industry still turns a profit. Why? Because quality doesn't matter, DC and Marvel own everyone's favorite characters.

I can understand them getting rid of Z-moves, but I really hope they actually try to incorporate Megas in some way. For the pokemon like Kangaskhan and Pinsir that never got real evolutions, just turning their mega into an actual evolution and tuning down the power a bit would be great.

Of course if they ever actually did that they'd ignore shit like Pinsir and go straight for Boomerzard X/Y or whatever instead, but I can dream.

Patching in the National Pokdex post-release, even if they can't use Mega, Dynamax, Gigantimaxing mechanics. But they'll probably insist on a different roster for another game that's partially incompatible with SnS.

Fuck Gamefreak regardless though. Core content will still likely be shit, Dynamax makes Megas look like angels, and the full package is unimpressive for a next generation. National Pokedex omitted further undermines it.

I feel like this "no natonal dex" doesn't indicate to casuals or people on the fence what a big deal this is. Gen 7 lacked a national dex and that was annoying enough, but plenty of people just assumed that Ban (and later Home) would get features added like a dex to counteract this, and there was far, far less negativity than there is now.

But claiming you're not coding shit into the game is ridiculous, especially when GF made future proofed models in gen 6 (which caused the games to lag for 2 fucking gens), which are now apparently incompatible with the Switch. Its retarded and them going "well we're sticking wit this policy going forward" is such a huge fucking hype killer that it just deflates the whole thing. Why would they expect people to care about Dynamaxin and Gigantimaxing when they'll be fucking gone next gen and all the pokemon that relied on it will be made shit?

And why the holy fuck are they so adamant about not patching in support for the game after it comes out? I swear to Christ if they actually try to sell Ultra Sword and Ultra Shield I'll lose my fucking mind.

This. The National Dex stuff doesn't make me that mad, it's the fact they cut so much on the premise of "better animations and graphics" when the game still looks like utter shit. If they were doing a full overhaul with new models (that were actually better than the old ones instead of minor changes) and had new, detailed graphics and animations I wouldn't mind the cut that much.

Just annouce patches for the game to add content and to add the national dex eventually. Considering they can't delay because of merchandise I don't think they'll have the time to add all of the mons at the launch of the game, but at least they can add patches to fix basic shit and slowly add back the mons. But at that point they're probably going to pull a Super sword and Super shield on us and add the national dex back in and all the shit they left out. Even if patches were announced and all that shit I'll still not considering buying because I might as well get digimon CS complete edition before picking this game up which is the best pokemon game

I can forgive poor graphics and animations, the world design was still looking like it would have been fun to explore.
But simply knowing that I won't be able to truly catch them all in the game kills my hype. It's the core tenant of pokemon and they're getting rid of it. Even RSE didn't do this badly, at least the gamecube games and kanto remakes helped you to flesh out the national Dex. Now that they're even making that pokemon home app, there's no excuse to not at least allow the full national dex to at least be transferred in.

I'm willing to cut them some slack though, I'll allow them to say "we can't shift our release window, but we promise to patch in the full national pokedex asap"

Having more Pokemon would not fix the insultingly low difficulty, the banal level design, the mediocre visuals, the uninspired music, the boring plot, etc etc. Combined with Gamefreak's incredible laziness, you have arguably the worst living mainstream JRPG franchise out there.
Not to mention that it is somehow the most lucrative media franchise of all time. Pokemon proves that popularity does not correlate with quality.
