you already know its not the most amazing construction. however, it shows promise. if you draw more of these, really challenge yourself with foreshortening, 3d forms etc. theyll get remarkably better.
the stiffness comes from the fact that you probably didnt think of doing a line of action first, or couldnt do it. making dynamic poses for characters is easier than what you tried, a still-standing pose. with a character moving in an exciting way, you can get away with some janky stuff. natural looking good neutral poses demand that your drawing fundamentals are very solid.

a way to help this really really well is drawing from reference or live models. after the first month of drawing people from reference every day, youll be astonished at the difference fompared to the start of the month.
the best way to do this is not just grind references and copy them. after you draw something from refs, try drawing things related to stuff you just studied but without help. comparing what you came up with to a real human can be disheartening, but worth it. learning anatomy and how it forms shapes on the body is a plus too.

not artist, but I used to still do write lemons. As my family was poor we didn't have a computer at home, so in order for me to submit them to digiartistsdomain they're still there, I had to type them at the school library or what have you. my mother found one of my handwritten lemons, specially about Davis and Kari. She never read my notebooks again, and a few weeks after I figured out that she had found out, she started asking me about writing as a career choice. This was in 2002 or so. Became paranoid after the fact and started writing entirely at school library.
Nowadays in my 30s I do commissions but sparingly and they never pay enough to actually be worth doing 120 dollars for one that took 20+ hours to write, edit and polish. /tg/ is the best place if you need money as a writer, but its almost entirely OC snoo snoo macrophilia garbage

The problem with goseb's drawing is that he's stuck with that same point of view where he's at a very long distance from his drawing subject, everything he draws look samey/flat because due to vanishing point being close to both head and feet of the character. Another problem is that he's not familiar with overlapping shape and hidden contour. My suggestion for him is that: lay off drawing human for now. Find still objects (basic cube/sphree/cone with vase/fruit) set them up, study their form and their relation in the 3D plane. And be mindful of important fundamentals, such as objects closer to you is bigger than ones further from you, etc

When you draw your character, you almost steer clear of odd angle because there's too much hidden infomation and hidden shape you have yet to gasp, and it's all because of flawed fundamental understanding. The first thing you need to do is break out of the habit of putting your subject 1 miles away from you when you draw. Set up simple objects at about 5-7 feet (2 meter-ish) and below your eye's level. Try reading this and do studies provided from this site as well drawabox.com/lesson/2 It's better if you can find a tutor or someone who can point out what wrong with your drawing directly. It will take a while till you get somewhere so prepare your mental for a long back tracking

you know another problem with your drawing? You're making everything too small. Try smaller brush. I think your current setting is at 15-30 pixels, try 3-7 pixels instead. And dont be afraid of drawing everything big. I used to be like you, I made tiny drawings because smaller = less details and thus, it looked kinda acceptable. It's another bad habit. Draw big, be confident. alright, try sticking with drawabox site because i myself lack ability to teach and and delivering knowledge, I may misguide with wrong wording.

I'm still trying to get comfortable with CSP, it's been less than a day that I've been trying to find brushes and I don't know any of the shortcuts to be honest I still don't know how to use the different brushes. Otherwise I'm most comfortable with PS because I find it's interface much easier and know the shortcuts much better mainly because I've been using it for years, I tend to start with canvas of 8x11 in 300 dpi and then I re-size and crop what I think I don't know need anymore.

I like that you gave her a very slight and reserved smile, its really cute, but I have to say that, at least in this WIP, its a bit hard to read her facial expression since the perspective makes the angle of her smile hard to read, if you get what I mean. Its a total nitpick though, don't get me wrong. I'm really happy with how everything else looks and very excited at how the finished thing will turn out.

i mean sure, if you draw occasionally and without reference you will still get better at drawing, but it might take like 10 or 20 years to get to an adequate level. a big, big rule to follow when trying to get better is:
don't draw what you think you see, draw what you see. aka, have you seen people who cant draw trying to draw an eye and its just an almond with spiky lines? this is because people have a mental checklist of sorts of what things look like. for an eye, it would be:
1. its an almond shape 2. theres a circle in the middle 3. theres lots of small hairs on it
so when they draw an eye, it really just turns into a combination of these without any thought to how the eye works as a 3D shape.
it seems to me you have a fixation with the "one simple trick" method of learning art, that there are hidden individual specific secrets and mastering them will make you good. there are no such things. people learned to draw what they see, and afterwards came up with names for the methods of portraying specific subjects.
sure, eventually learning tricks and methods will ease your work, but without an understanding of how the basics of drawing works, they will hinder you.
here is a recommendation that will boost your skill considerably: read george bridgemans "constructive anatomy". im pretty sure its public domain. it illustrates how the human body works as shapes, and the accompanying text goes into the nitty gritty of anatomy. just drawing the pictures in the book will open up your understanding of basic drawing. note: this is the guy who taught loomis, although bridgemans boon is much more simple and deals with the basics.
if you cant follow steps like these eventually, stop calling yourself an amateur artist. you will stay a hobbyist.
