Based up until Shadow of War. At least earlier games, like Battle for Middle Earth, were fun despite trashing Tolkien's vision. Never played BT3 and not a Toriyama faggot but isn't the
Arcsystem game a straight upgrade over that shovelware (yes, I know Fighterz is the most casual arcsys game, but still)? Sekiro is good though. Won't bother addressing the last one.

Echoes is pretty good and original Pokemon is great aside from the slav tier jank.

Mass Effect 2 is irredeemable muubige and Resident Evil 4, while good, is borderline muubige with all those fucking cutscenes and QTEs.
Calling a JRPG a muubige is redundant; so, I won't bother.
N64 Zelda's aren't muubige but they are worse than their predecessors and Breath of the Wild because of their shallow devotion to scripting and narrative. Also, Mario64 styles all over them.
Smash is good.
Shadow of the Colossus is very good.
Jak and Daxter isn't good. At least, it's not Crash.

Castlevania IV is good but relatively weak beyond its strong atmosphere.
No More Heroes is unique and that's really the best thing to be said about it.
Dead Rising is shovelware.
While the Casablanca homage is well used and not overbearing, Grim Fandango just isn't original enough as a story or a game for me. I can get it if you are a big point-and-click fan though.
Crash is trash.
Enter the Gungeon is mediocre.
On the positive side, Hotline Miami is great.

Subnautica is based.
Emerald is the last great Pokemon game (Platinum was alright but the lack of innovation lead us to the stagnation of today). Abilities were a great addition and Regis were great.
XCOM2 and TW: Warhammer2 are good.
Minus for objective marker simulators; but, both have plenty of redeeming factors.

Atmosphere is important; but, gameplay composes the large majority of any games merit. Persona 5 does not have good gameplay to back up its style and Nier Automata has the best aesthetic of PG but has weaker gameplay.
Bloodborne and Ultima VII are great.
Doom '16 is good enough.
I've played Tecmo Bowl but Idon't remember it very well.
E.Y.E, Lisa, VtMB and Pathologic are based.
Haven't played Zeno Clash or Umineko.

I agree, and I stand by what I said. Every single game on my 3x3 is extremely fun to play.

I disagree emphatically. I like it just as much as I like the more fast-paced gameplay of SMT because I enjoy all the over-the-top theatricality of the animations. It fits the game's aesthetic very well, and makes me wonder why more turn-based games have that sort of thing implemented.

Weaker gameplay than what? I think Automata is a better action game than something like MGR, especially if we just consider the base game without Sam's DLC. Raiden's extra weapons feel like accessories more than anything else. In Automata, every weapon has an actual combo string, the wire pod ability is really good for extending combos, and you can JC and DJC everything. It's an easy game if you just play it holding R1 and pounding away at Square, but if you take the time to learn it's mechanics, you'll find a polished action game.
I don't think this post merits a response. Regardless of what you may say, I think we'll just agree to disagree.

A family is murdered on an island in the 80s. The main character, a member of the family, and a witch in the meta go over the murders trying to solve them. The witch claims she did them with magic while the main character must figure out how they happened using real world murders to disprove any magic. Things escalate and get more over the top as things go on though.
Zeno Clash is a very fun first person brawler with some guns and melee weapons too. The enemy and level designs are styled after Hieronymus Bosch.
