Kunio's worldbuilding is as solid as bridge made out of toothpicks over a bed of wet tissue paper.
The closest connection to Kunio and the Double dragons are the Dragon Twins, Randy and Andy (Ryuji and Ryuichi in Japan), they look the same in face, they have the same fighting style and attacks and they have the DD theme song.
however, as of River city Rival showdown (or River city ransom/Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari SP) Double dragon is a fictional franchise in the kunio world, with the most popular game at the time being a fightan, called 'The Fighting of Double Dragon 2016'
