She will just be a tag along in the opening scene of the game. The Zombie Lich wakes up, curses Link, and takes the Triforce of Wisdom from within Zelda, causing Zelda to disappear into nothing.

Link has to go scour the countryside to find her. With his cursed arm alerting him to the location of bosses inside hidden temples. Each time Link kills a boss, he gets a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom. After killing all the bosses (and completing all the temples), Link puts together all the pieces of the Triforce of Wisdom, and Zelda reappears. They team up and fight the Lich in a final battle. And in the ending credits, Zelda thanks Link in a Tsun manner.

Now you know the entire plot of BotW 2.

Anime isn't one art style. There's undoubtedly one design out there that would make you get a stiffy. Just not a weak imitator of Miyazaki.

Yeah well, if your didn't lose almost every war you got into, other countries would care enough to imitate you correctly.

I played the game in both English and Japanese. She's insufferable in both. But it has more to do with the way they wrote the story and directed the scenes. They forced all the actors to be stoic and serious all the time in cutscenes. So when they attempted to do something funny, it fell flat. When they did something really dramatic, it felt the same as all the other cutscenes. In other words, the voice acting is just bland and boring. But adding a bad English dialect definitely made the English one worse.

As Miyamoto already pointed out two decades ago, voice acting was a mistake for Zelda. BOTW just proved it.
