All fighting games should have A>A>A and B>B>B as universal combos.
The main problem fighting games have is you have to spend an hour reading and learning about your specific character before you can even jump in the game to have fun. No other game genre does this. In a shooter you jump in because you already know you move the mouse to aim and left click to shoot. It's universal, then you learn more stuff as you play.
Fighting games need a universal low reward ez combo so people can jump right in and have fun. I say this as someone who plays fighting games every day for years and achieves high ranks in all of them. I want more people playing online. This will save fighting games along with crossplay which we should all feverishly demand from every fighting game being released.
Combos are cancer. Make it so it's a back and forth of one move so the focus is on patience and reads rather than someone memorizing a string of notations.
For Honor has proven this bullshit wrong. The game has absolutely simplistic as hell combos and casual shitters constantly bemoan about the game, calling certain characters cheap and how it's too hard because they have zero concept of reads, pressure, mind games etc.
Lincoln Campbell
That's just a sub genre of fighting game. Some are all about crazy combos and some are about slow and methodical poking and more. There's nothing cancerous about different fighting games styles, just play the style you want.
Carter Miller
shitters need to either git gud or stick to bing bing wahoo.
Gabriel Nelson
For Honor doesn't have combos.
Luke Robinson
Riot will show everyone how to actually attract brainlets and casuals. And it won't have anything to do with gameplay.
William Thompson
For Honor has nothing to do with fighting games you retard. Also I can point to many examples where it works well, such as in UNIST or DBFZ. >g-git gud huh huh w-what do you mean you're not making my favorite series anymore? Underage edgy faggot.
