Starsector

What should be my first capital ship?
I found a Conquest-class on a black market, would that be a good start?

heey hey ppl :DD

conquest is one of the worst ships in the game, don't fall for the conquest shill and his webms

>he buys his capital ships instead of killing people for them
what a berrypicker

>he buys anything at all

When was the latest update for this? Mine might be outdated

Reinstall Java
Disable your mods one by one until you find the one causing the crash.

if you know what you are doing and don’t overcommit, yes. just remember: you can’t defend for shit. speed and your 2 missile mounts are your bigger assets, pick up smaller ships and flank other capitals
don’t blame the ship for your shittery

conquest is GARBAGE for the investment, stop giving bad advice

is this the epitome of psh nothin personell kid ...

youtube.com/watch?v=cG8YdwCVZSc

Unfunny fag here

It's a good ship. I can defeat all ships with similar deploy cost with it. Found a derelict conquest early in one of my play through and the game kind of became easy mode.

Attached: AnimuF_006.png (220x220, 59K)

kek

>stop giving bad advice
you first
I bet your flagship has below room-temperature max speed and d*fense instead of pure offense

The base hull is built to be mobile and do hit and runs. If you want to hold a line with it something like an onslaught might be better.

my flagship is a sunder suck my tachyon you contrarian

None. Capships are for dicklets.
Frigate + Destroyer + Light Carrier wolf pack rushing. Going bigger means you have a tiny dick or like falling asleep at the keyboard.

Is it worth getting a ship just to stick survey equipment on it? Or is it irrelevant and I should just get more cargo space?

Odyssey

something that seems to have not be addressed about this ship is that it's turrets are placed in such a way that they point in different directions, the problem with this compared to other very large ships is when you need your large ship to battle another large ship you you can only point half your guns at it and weaker armor since your ship is meant to be faster

Lads, combat or carrier for your flagship?

lot's of survey equipment stacks until the supply cost of surveying goes down to 5 for any single planet, it's worth it to stick that mod on as many ships as reasonable

fucking hilarious

The Conquest is a loadout bait-and-switch
Spend all your ordiance points loading stronk weapons on one side and skim ordinance points on the other side with defensive weapons and medium turrets on the large slots

Fuck off to /vg/

I prefer to use smaller ships myself 90% of the time, but Caps do have their uses. Like taking down a battle station. Smaller ships just can't do it without taking massive casualties.

Attached: landing on iserlohn fortress.webm (832x449, 2.93M)

Best capital ship, fuck the warmonger factions, Independent free-traders are king!

Grab three Sheps. They're your basic bitch 100 cargo hauler frigs. Militarize and expand cargo holds on that shit and you've got a tiny survey boi with stacking salvage gantries (diminishing returns after the 2nd), survey equipment and a fleet of PD soaking drones and engine missiles if you really need to deploy them in combat.

No lmao

Do you even do anything as a carrier but sit back and let your fighters kill?

For me it's the Centurion
The best brawling frigate

allows you to command your fleet more freely

if you use a legion you charge head first into battle to drop 5 reapers on them

Eh, can i get a quick rundown on ship classes ? Are Civilian ones usually bad ?

Idea worth trying out.

it isn't

>do few smuggling runs in shitty backwater system
>get rich as fuck
I wonder when will Alex fix this.

I think I would greatly enjoy this game if I werent such an absolute fucking dogshit pilot.

>3 hours in
>Established colony on a barren shit world
Should I start over? Can't believe I quick saved this shit.

Attached: 10-tips-for-elder-care.jpg (1452x968, 262K)

There is an abandon colony option if it isn't too far along

Or just let the colony get saturation bombarded to hell and back.

what're those black spots old women always have on their faces?

how do i judge how many marines I need for raiding?

Speaking of colonies, how much money do you guys think I need before making and investing into a Terran colony?

age spots or liver spots, our futures

Does anyone have the Webm of IIRC a massive warhead opening up and then shooting hundreds of smaller warheads?
I'm pretty sure it was also uploaded to youtube with Isis music but I can't find it.

You go up to a planet, see if you can raid it, if not, buy more marines and try again.

I recommend 1000 marines endgame.

so I need that specific amount, not more?
do I not want to get more?

>fractalsoftworks is down
kek alex isnt very happy today

I remember a Starfarer thread where this webm with the exact same name was posted.
Its what finally tipped me to pick LoGH up

Well I'm a cheapskate, if you want a 10,000 Marine death legion then go ahead, nothing stopping you

m8 i'm asking if nore marines make raiding more effectie or not
i want to make a profit after all

Also forgot to mention, the UI tells you your raid success chance. The more defense a planet has, the higher the minimum amount of marines you need to even start a raid. The higher the amount of marines, the higher your success chance.

so... looking at their defense, what's the optimal way to gage how many marines you need?
what happens when you fail?

It's possible to have remnants ships in fleet without mods now?

Best start in Nexian? random core worlds or no?

Will this game run on a toaster laptop with no gpu or nah?

I'm asking because of this pic in the last blog post

Attached: fleet_with_auto_ships.jpg (1280x800, 297K)

>so much traffic it overloads the site
uhh no?

If by no gpu you means some vaguely recent IGPU, then yes

>no gpu
you can't run a calculator with no gpu
minimum requirements are on the website

I want to start a new game with mods, what are the best ones to get?

Attached: 1538879769149.jpg (650x918, 145K)

Fine, smartass. I meant a dedicated gpu.

Help I'm stranded outside of the map and there's no nearby gravity wells.

Looks like a boss from an old JRPG.

What is there to do in this game? Been playing it for seven hours so far and it's getting a bit stale.

>still no sauce
>still no follow up
>still no porn

Conquer the universe obviously

>Its what finally tipped me to pick LoGH up

Attached: mittermeyer_and_reuental no sound.webm (960x540, 723K)

don't, they're all shit
here's the follow-up

Attached: 1536528847149.jpg (650x918, 117K)

started playing today, and whana play as a planet explorer/clean up crew
came to some system and this happened
god this game is sweet

Attached: Clipboard02.jpg (1920x1080, 210K)

it's space mount and blade
whatever

they are bad for fighting
useful for carrying fuel(tankers), cargo(freighters), passengers(crew and marines), scavenging or surveying

signs of impeding doom

why did god create something like this???

Can i live in your head. I wanna be cozy rent free

I'm gonna watch factions blow each other for shit.
Then I'll sell them their own salvaged ships for profit.

not yet implemented(but soonTM)

Attached: Legion chan cute.png (1003x645, 508K)

to remind you

is it ok that i basically autopilot combat? just started and i feel the ai is much better than me at doing this shit.

having some decent fun tho, just salvaging ships and explorin or doin trade missions.

of what

I feel the same way, it's why I went the carrier route so I can let the AI fight while I command the fleet and watch the fireworks.

You know you can set your flagship to operate on autopilot whenever you want right?

no it's not, you should be better than the AI after practice

its fine
i usually put weapons on auto(outside missiles and torps)
you can invert movement controls(or use shift to change it in battle)

that this too shall pass

that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.

sins of your fathers(and yours)

>establish a colony
>everyone raids my shit
what the hell did I do

Attached: 1544973491206.jpg (512x512, 29K)

WORDS THAT KILL

Don't start a colony until you actually have the means to defend it. Otherwise everyone will bully you.

SWEET baby jesus, its payday time

Attached: Clipboard03.jpg (1920x1080, 212K)

I can defend it fine by myself but that's fucking tedious.

Attached: R station salvage plus 2 debris time.png (1022x577, 436K)

these guys are FUCKED
too bad i can't trade with them, I'd make mad bucks

Attached: dude.jpg (1920x1080, 542K)

>too bad i can't trade with them, I'd make mad bucks
You can, you just need to turn off your transponder

Colonies will need you to baby sit them until they can defend themselves. You can start having them produce their own patrols once you build the required buildings. You're still going to have to defend it though, everyone looks on their neighbors with eager eyes.

So when is this getting a full release?

what skills should I get?
I'm going to buy 40 units of drugs and try just to prove you wrong

Attached: dude.jpg (1920x1080, 581K)

is that a pargon blueprint? hot damn

always hurts to stuck upon vast ruins and not having enough space to carry all that shit
don't get busted by patrols, carrying that AI

Attached: 1456811816834.png (765x384, 62K)

is there any options if you jump into a neutron star system and immediately get taken for a ride?

forgot to mention I've been raiding them, I can't

How do I know when they're able to defend themselves though ? I've only got a Patrol HQ and a high tech base so far.

I'm literally doing it right now, gonna sell 100 drugs and 500 mechas for fat stacks.

10 years from now

You just need to wait for a couple weeks usually.

yeah but it's not the same base you've been raiding for the past month or so

F9

Depends on the forces being sent to bully you. If it's just lowly pirate detachments they should be able to handle themselves already. If it's assault or invasion forces you're going to have to sit there awhile. Really comes down to how desirable that colony is. You better not be in a high traffic area with lots of neighbors or else you'll be glued there until you have a space fortress.

Attached: FAST REP.png (1045x657, 316K)

user no what the fuck are you doing. If you want rep then hegemony gives you 200% at like 50% cash

lmao the game company wants your phone number and tax ID when buying with a credit card.

seems SLIGHTLY fishy the whole ordeal

It's been a decade since I've played Budokai 3.

THE WHAT?

Attached: FAST CASH.png (1039x585, 264K)

GUYS
PLEASE

still waiting
plz i can't decide on the skills

Attached: 1zdd.gif (499x544, 199K)

Does the Alpha Core Administrator have a 100% chance of going rogue? I tried to move it for Hegemony Inspection Day and after it wouldn’t come with me they Hegemony just took it without any issue, so what’s the fucking point?

How to make my ships stronger? Cant find any weapons stronger than common

Does that ship on the right have hangars on either side? It looks kind of like a battlestar

now real talk, how do you get more rep with Luddic Path, they don't give missions of any kind.

Attached: 551342.jpg (408x590, 47K)

READ NIGGA READ

its battle carrier so yes

How do I find pirate bases? These assholes are lowering my colony stability, is there any way to bribe pirates into giving me their location or something?

Attached: the pirates who don't do anything.png (691x530, 818K)

Get the mod that boosts max level

just bribe the inspector you donut

>How do I find pirate bases?
if there is a bounty on one they always tell you which system they are and if there is a pirate raid/activity mesage in your intel, it's always shown where they comming from

I know its cliche to saw but it really is what I expected a "Star Wars" to be like

Attached: Percival poorly stitched.jpg (2090x870, 197K)

Why do ships in Starsector act like the posturing primates in 2001:a space odyssey?

Can I make a Protoss Carrier in this, will it be fun, and how2get to that carrier thing

You should be able to ask a grizzled spacer at your colony bar. He gives you the system location, trail pirates there to find the base itself.

Is it possible to put an AI core into one of your ships as a captain?

>farm [REDACTED] red sector for a while before taking out the station
>take a dozen alphas, two dozen betas, three dozen gammas to tritach
>walk away with a cool nine million credits

Attached: 1446224584164.gif (236x285, 160K)

currently I don't think so, next update Alex said yes and you can change their officer personality at will

That sounds sick. So much potential to be gained by stepping back into AI reliance.

How do you buy new ships I've been jumping around a while and havent found any to purchase. I know how to salvage them but I figured salvaging ships I probably won't find anything amazing

How can I tell if a ship from a mod is a destroyer, cruiser, or flagship? Most of them have dumb custom names

Press the ? to see the ship's real description.
Go to sell, then go to fleet - Buy, then choose market.

It should have a classification still, like frigate or combat freighter. Barring that just eyeball the stats.

This ship was so baller that back when I watched LoGH there were only LD rips out but I still made a screencap my wallpaper for like a year.

Yeah that's what I'm saying most of them don't, just some custom name even in the bigger description

What is the military option for carrying fuel?

yeah i might try to aim for something like this
carriers good? I kinda started on the salvage option (not the fast start). might restart tho.
oh im sure, i'm just not terribly good at doing all the shit it wants. if autopilot carrier is still a good idea though i might try that instead.

analyze weapon cache/research station missions generally give you assloads of weapons or blueprints for basically the cost of traveling there, black markets are also very random in their weapon offerings so check those frequently

yes, you will probably need a blueprint or be very invested into the tri tachyon corporation to acquire one

Nothing effecient. Some faction mods have stronger fuel/cargo carriers at the cost of capacity or burn level. Just take civilian fuel carries, slap militarized subsystems on it, and never take it into combat

What's the widget on the station's bottom row?

imagine becoming an Ai

Attached: 300px-Heavy_Tactical_Drone.png (300x715, 361K)

honestly, why not get som cheap and low flux large ballistics instead? they are free since the conc has its unique perk and heavys are in general superior to some medium weapon with a cost

The notion that you can buy a capital ship on the black market is hilarious.

>find a tempest for sale
>stick some phase lances on it
>mfw in combat simulations
I NEED MORE

Attached: 1557241529602.jpg (480x373, 20K)

Ship reveals are one of my favorite aspects of LoGH.
It really gave character to the fleets and admirals.
Getting used to seeing the green metal boxes in various states of fat and then getting shown Triglav was a treat.
Or Muller receiving percival for his act of heroism was such a feel good moment.

And something so minor is less likely to happen nowadays as stuff like that is CGI, as shown by the remake.
The hand drawings game the cosmic scenes some underappreciated depth.

Attached: LOGH_FPA_Capitals.jpg (1280x960, 204K)

Watching streamers jump on Sseth's bandwagon without doing the tutorial first is so painful.

What are some good mods that make factions colonize inhabited planets?

Attached: tumblr_ot4ucjgOY11wsbn2ao1_500.jpg (500x327, 41K)

any love for space rangers 2

You hvae to either roleplay in your head or min/max to conquer the sector

Man I'm having shit luck with planets. I've only found two, maybe three that I'd call decent and all of them have pirate or luddic path stations (speaking of, how strong do I need to be to take those out?) and the rest is an endless parade of shitty desert worlds with nothing but a couple minerals.

Attached: 1470340933657.png (384x384, 131K)

Nexelhim or whatever it's called, the big popular one. NPC factions will go on colonization expeditions if they find suitable planets.

carriers pretty great if you want to sit back enjoy the fireworks

What war wouldn't you win with a fleet of double barrel shot guns?

Attached: ancap picardia.jpg (268x188, 15K)

desert planets are pretty decent, at least tier 3 but usually tier 4.

Is there a mod that makes the sector bigger? It seems kinda small overall.

Apparently the one in LoGH
>Design the next gen ship
>Too wide for your own docks
the absolute state of Alliance Engineering

How to not go bankrupt on supplies for larger fleets?

It honestly gets under my skin, they find the good planets before I do and I'm forced into the outskirts.

How hard pirate or pather stations are depends on their level, although I think pather stations are generally harder and you'll probably want a capital ship or two.

Just saturation bomb their colonies.
Can factions just "besiege" colonies to capture them or do they have to glass them?

I mean, the game is ranking several hell worlds as IV or once even V for me, but the problem is they're not realistically that good. Like one ocean planet the game has marked V only because it has an ass ton of minerals and organics, but it's so crawling with hazards that its hazard rating is fucking 200.

>episodes of LoGH where they show generic soldiers getting fucked up when ships get destroyed
>can handle it
>suddenly a no-name longhaired FPA cutie wearing a beret gets obliterated
>can't handle it

What is considered a capital? Battlecruisers and Battleships, I'm guessing? The biggest I have is a single Dominator.

Hazards only matter at the beginning of the colony. after you have a waystation and/or convert your colony into a free port, everything will go smooth.

Senpai being able to go to war with a faction and win comes much later than when you're ready to found your first colony.

Onstlaught, Atlas, paragon, basically the ships that cost around 40 supplies per month.

Really? Everyone recs 150 and below that I've seen. Either way, I can't use it right now because it has a bunch of Luddic Path fleets and a station squatting there. I've been hoping to find some alternatives that aren't armpit deserts out on the rim and aren't full of hostiles.

What's a "Synergy slot"? What does it synergize with?

I don't know what class those are and I haven't seen them around, but I'm guessing they're bigger than the Dominator, then. No hope for me to clear it out any time soon, then. But on that subject, how big do you normally make your fleet, as far as number of ships go?

>no trouble making money
>not sure how big I should make my fleet
>not sure if I want anything larger than a cruiser class
>not sure when to start a colony

Own a colony.

is the game good? It says its 15 bucks but is that a good price? It says its in alpha too. Just how much content is there?

Attached: babycarriage.jpg (1000x1000, 158K)

Million in the bank and a worthwhile colony /system on hand

I've been playing for years user. It's my favourite space game since Freespace 2.

Vanilla: between 20 to 100 hours depending on how committed you are to dominate the sector, and if you only play once.
Modded: unlimited

Attached: mounts.jpg (737x268, 56K)

It’s okay. Combat is good but once you get to the end game there’s really nothing to do

i usually don't let my daily supplies use to go over 10 per day, so basically that translates into one or two capital ships, 8 to 10 cruisers and several haulers/tanker ships. going over 10 is basically when you want to abuse the combat system and hog all the deployment points to yourself or you really need to fuck up some modded faction.

they are one class bigger than the dominator.

>Have women in the fleet for at least 150 years
>Not a single noteworthy admiral
what did FPA mean by this

Naming seems bizarre, but okay.

How do I befriend the Luddic Path?
I want to fight the good fight.

Thanks for the fleet comp tips, at least. Looks like I'll be grinding cash for a while to take care of those pirates.

Is there an option to view what storage locations I bought?

if you hang around their systems they'll rarely give out missions, sell them cores, and I think bar missions that deliver to pather worlds give rep as well

Alright. I thought it was something like befriending the Church first and then there might be an option to "move on" from there.

How much dosh do i need to pile up before making my own colony is possible and feasible?

Seven digits.

There are terran planets that have a high concentration of ores and organics and also have a low hazard rating, but they literally are a needle in a haystack. So far i've only found one such planet and it was almost at the edge of the map

I dont know how to manage supplies

Just scavenge the debris after every fight bro, your fight or someone else's

Wait until somebody fucks up the space port on one of their worlds. They'll start offering trade missions to satisfy demand, but due to a bug none of the commodities you deliver from missions gets added to the economy, so they'll just keep posting missions as if you never delivered anything.

>I cannot into combat at all
I think it's because the keyboard controls don't work very well with me but the AI often does just as good if not better than me.
Big fuckups like not maintaining distance properly are common from me. To work around this I often keep myself at a VERY good distance from the enemy but that often leads to too prolonged combat and my ship(s) start suffering from accidents due to low CR.
Should I try to git gud or just put points into leadership and try to work around my awful skills by just getting the most out of the AI instead?

Attached: I wouldn't want to let too many soldiers die.jpg (640x480, 54K)

Not much point if I can't make them prosper either. If this bug for their faction only, or for all factions who have this condition?

Is there a way to bookmark locations or have a favorite list? I've been putting them down in notepad but something in-game would be nice.

>get my own system
>get max defences
>piss off everyone
>system changes into permanent warzone with clouds of debris everywhere
>some raids annihilate each other before they even get to my planet

Attached: 1546558386170.jpg (925x835, 75K)

>capture a nice Pirate outpost
>Share the sector with Triniggers and Drivefaggots
>Gib us 50% of everything or else :DDD t Rocknigger
>"No"
>Saturation bombardament in 29 days :DDD

Attached: 1000.jpg (210x240, 6K)

Alex is retarded and made the worst controls default. Just switch the invert shift option so your ship always points towards the cursor.

Are there any cancer mods that I should straight up avoid? I got to endgame content when 0.9 released and now I want to go for a modded playthrough.

I'll try and see if that works for me, thanks.
If it doesn't then it's carrier ships for me. The leadership skill tree isn't bad at all either, so I'm not that scared of doing it.

Should have paid tribute.

Space Turks.

The flipside is you get the enjoyment out of genociding any cancer mod factions

All factions. You can just all things normally if you want to unfuck their markets, but in the meantime it's a good way of farming rep and cash.

Just bought a Heron, what do I put on it?

Attached: screenshot005.png (1920x1080, 1.65M)

And it's a matter of having their space port broken, right? It's not a permanent condition, it just spawns seemingly meaningless quests?

Heroin

Are unique ships from IBB bounties guaranteed drop?
If not, do I get more chances to salvage them later?

When in doubt, fighters. They're pretty all around. Bombers and Interceptors are specialists.

>do my first big outnumbered fight as my usual phase frigate
>do pretty well but lose a couple of my destroyers
>reload and try it in one of my destroyers
>fights not even close, don't lose a single ship
does this mean I'm a shit frigate pilot

they're supposed to be guaranteed. open up the SWP_OPTIONS file in the ship and weapons pack mod folder, they're enabled by default

Can I be a space prospector of sorts in this game? or is it all, get a big fleet and dab on pirates? I just want to mine rocks and sell shit and maybe kick some slight ass.

some mods expand on mining, there's even a faction based around using mining ships
fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=13236.0
just make sure to also have Nexerellin

>does this mean I'm a shit frigate pilot
More like you're a good destroyer pilot.

Why does exploration give so much money? I touch one probe and scan one planet and walk away with almost 200k cash. It feels like cheating.

Attached: 1417432788192.webm (1280x536, 2.87M)

Sure, but if you want to make a living of it then you'll do contract work which doesn't give a lot of freedom (just like real life). You might eventually found your own faction and prospect for your own good, but then it's even more annoying when you don't hit gold, which you don't most of the time.

>alex said he thinks sitting around shooting space rocks is boring

>when this is the literal perfect game because you could have a cosmic swarm going through the "battle" with asteroids from off-screen, risking bumping into and destroying ships

>exotic rocks with rare materials that could also potentially be containing cosmic horror creatures within that were feeding on the metals

Any kind of disruption that fucks with supply, really. Spaceports after just the biggest ones since colonies can't trade with each other without one.
The missions end once the damaged structure or industry is repaired. You can see statuses by pressing M at the market screen.

thanks user

Attached: 1425517721572.jpg (1280x720, 37K)

I haven't paid that close attention to colony "parts". What else than spaceports could it be?

what the fuck is this

They can be risky, I suppose, and it always takes some resources to get where you want to go

Industries like Food Production, Orbital Works, etc.

for heron specifically, kopesh and or torpedo bombers, the special ability of the carrier can boost the effect of those right before impact

There's an option in settings to make it so you aim and orientate your ship with the mouth and WASD becomes a bit more like typical movement. It's off by default, so I just assume everyone who's having trouble piloting is getting owned due to that.

any modding guide around? where do I install the files?

Just one such "trait" needs to be offline for [get us supplies] quests to break and not actually give them the supplies?

>try to explore, look for derelicts/planets in missions
>area always full of enemies 100% of the time, can't do anything without dying
what was that moron thinking, this game is awful
It's a shit tier amalgam of the worst parts of mount and blade and elite dangerous.

>cosmic horror creatures
youtu.be/pM8OyBBoUhg?t=263
this would actually be a good way to balance out scavenger put all the expensive shit like research and mining stations out in the furthest stars but also have it result in chances of releasing shit that was better left alone

Alright, I don't know what the fuck I'm doing but I got an alright fleet, a million credits, AI cores and an alright amount of blueprints

What's my next step, establishing my first colony ?

adding to , you might also want to edit the supplies that your fleet uses as well, because mining right now isn't made to be profitable and other that the linked mod, i don't think there is another mod that makes it so.

Just got to support the function

>alright fleet
what does this mean. you're gonna have to be defening the colony yourself against pirates and other faction expeditions until the orbital station and patrol HQ are up.

is that mod enough to make it profitable though.

Why does everyone want to pick on me and my faction so bad when places like Nova Maxios get left alone most of the time? Why bully me and not them?

>want to buy a cruiser
>they're slow as shit though
>max burn is already only 9 and I have trouble catching pirates and bounties as is
help

Strong enough to defeat any small to medium threat, not strong enough to attack a large fleet or a station

how do I get these baptist terrorist cells off my fucking planet I am sick of this shit

is it possible to play as space junkers? I don't want to take peoples lives, but I do want their ships and cargo. Wait.. is that just called being a fucking pirate?

It should be self explanatory that you don't catch and intercept a lot with larger ships.

just sustained/emergency burn. Also that one skill in tech that increases max burn level is mandatory for like every build

Food production getting smashed will make a colony pay missions did food delivery. Completing these missions doesn't actually reduce the demand, so the colony will keep posting missions until Food Production is repaired.
Orbital Works getting fucked would make missions for heavy machinery and supplies. The spaceport being down would create missions for anything that the colony imports and doesn't apply by itself.
Did that make sense?

Remove technology and embrace Allah.

I support equality which means Im going to genocide everyone

Befriend them, or simply move to an area where they don't operate.

Piracy and salvaging are both options, although their viability is questionable.

go to the bar, and with luck you will find a pather to bribe

I bought Starsector back in 2013 and it was kind of bare-bones sandbox back then. Where does it sit now?

It did, and it seems I understood it correctly the first time. Just had to make sure.
You know if the devs are aware of this and trying to fix it?

Dumbasses. Just buy tugs until you hit max burn level. Each tug increases it by one.

Laughed for real, goddamnit.

Attached: bytheemprah.png (220x170, 44K)

What's with the sudden interest from Yea Forums in this? There wasn't even an update.

don't tugs make it impossible to smuggle due to the increased sensor shit?

This game reminds me, why are people still waiting for Star Citizen ?

If you are using tugs, you clearly aren't doing smuggling runs.

when you buy the game.. how do you receive your code? I haven't bought it yet but there is no spot when purchasing to input a email or something?

You can move fast or you can move silently. Make a choice faggot.

there is also X4 available.

You get an email with the code

guys help. game says that RNG "knows" i pirated it. but i have bought a key lol?

Falcons have burn 9, and are common and cheap.

Aren't tugs really expensive fuel-wise? And I thought their burn level increase didn't stack.

what should I put my points into/

youtube.com/watch?v=acqpulP1hLo

Pretty sure it's been reported already, but I don't think the dev responded to the post. Either way, I don't expect it to stick around.

You have no idea what rent free means, faggot. This game would be literally who tier and would never have threads without le funneh nigger man.

>hegemony and persians at war
>destroy a persian trade convoy
>heaps of praise
>destroy a persian defender
>heaps of praise
>wipe out a persian colony
>hegemony instantly becomes hostile

So let me get this straight these faggots want to be in perpetual war where neither side makes territory advances?

Attached: 1548404342930.png (692x616, 323K)

I pick smuggling with 8 burn cruisers

>only save I've progressed any on has nothing but garbage tier fuel guzzling destroyers with awful loadouts
>chose mostly combat skills, can't fix that mistake for some reason
>no clue how to build loadouts so I can't buy better ships
Tried restarting and picking the explorer option so I could actually into travel. Just results in every single system I go to, especially for missions, being stacked with 20 burn level OP enemies who destroy me instantly and can't be avoided.

Read their hull mods. The burn increase is cumulative. And yeah they're fuel-heavy, so you'll need to bring some extra tankers along.

Do you not understand the military-industrial complex, user?

you're killing civilians

Is there any way to stash your ships? Or can I just put ships onto defense fleets or whatever once I have a colony?

Why is this being talked about so much now?

Is there a glossary or something ingame? I have officers that are "timid" and "cautious" for instance but I don't know exactly what that entails.

You can put ships into Storage just like your items

check the wiki
basically you never want timid officers

Because an eceleb made a video on it

Stay fast and agile, avoiding big fleet engagements while surveying planets. Eventually you'll find one that supports heavy industry. Set up a colony and protect it until it's capable of defending itself and producing its own ships. Continue surveying ruins until you unlock designs for better ships and make your own. Conquest ships make it possible to take out orbital defenses.

...

>the only reason for war is to paint the map my color
Even leaving aside that you did it by bombing millions of people, you really need to play less shitty strategy games.

>sseth makes a video
>lots of people try it out

Surprise surprise, it's a good game and now they want to talk about it.

you're shit
my first game and i already have just under a million credits and a fleet to boot

>going to war is fine as long as I leave my enemy's ability to keep producing units and funding their military intact
You're a shit tactician.

Will keep you entertained for a while, but still lacks faction politics and a real endgame.

That makes perfect sense and I have no idea why I never tried it. I could have been building up a fleet of trash scrap ships to never use all this time

GUYYYYSSSSSS

I need a good Animu portrait pack

That's a bit of a shame, I wanted something I can enjoy for a long time like Starscape or SPAZ

salvaging to 3 is important, at least level 1 of sensors for the neutrino detector is also important

While I was smuggling drugs to a lone pirate station, a bunch of Tri Tach patrols were coming after me, but right after selling the stuff I turned my transponder On and dragged every fleet with me to an assault on the pirates. I sat WAY at the back and let the station destroy everyone, then I retreated, scavenged ships and debris, and went back to Tri Tach to sell them their own garbage back.

power grid modulation is a good bet
or sensors for smuggling/neutrino

>salvaging to 3 is important

>it's yet another wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle sandbox game with no content

>saturate bomb some faggot that's been launching endless raids on my colonies
>everyone becomes hostile
>millions of credits in debt
>only way to replace crew who leave due to pay cuts is taking new crew from colony stockpiles, along with fuel and supplies
>which puts me further in debt
Why is saturation bombing an option if it instantly and permanently puts you in an inescapable hole of debt and hostility with everyone?

Pretty sure you always have a green planet in one of the unexplored star on the starting sector, faction mods or shit that add planets can fuck with this though

t. isn't ambushed by inexplicably fast alien dreadnoughts during every exploration mission

He always does the whole chaotic-neutral/evil thing, which sells the games pretty well.

im just starting out, my guns feel so weak and wimpy
where do I get more dakka?

Attached: 1369158853495.gif (320x240, 883K)

What the fuck is ECM?

Yeah that's just what we need, make the early game impossible.

It's about taking that ability from the enemy, not wiping it from the galaxy.

In fact why are other factions allowed to saturation bomb MY colonies and maintain peaceful relations while every time I do it it's like declaring war on everyone?

>exploration mission
lol i just raid pirate trash

Protip: You're not "taking" that ability away from them, you're simply delaying the next strike. Wiping out a colony settles disputes for good.

X3 superior.

>find a trinary star system with essentially uninhabitable volcanic worlds
>every world has ultrarich mineral and plutonics supplies, most have ruins too
>set up colonies anyway
>people flock in despite having to live in literal hell

So currently in Vanilla the factions can only raid each other right? No taking colonies or making new ones?

Are there mods for that?

Decreases the opponents weapon range if you have more ECM rating, reduces yours if your opponent has a higher rating.

Not really. It's okay but the firepower, while impressive on paper, is split up between the two wings of the ship and face opposite directions. It's made for broadsides but doesn't have turrets that rotate 270 degrees like actual battleships did so it kinda sucks. My recommendation is the Legion battlecarrier.

just like new york

same reason the usa is allowed to commit mass murder and torture camps for political prisoners but when syria tries to shoot down a jet it's an international crime
what are you gonna do about it?

electronic countermeasure

Nexerelin

What? No. Making colonies was added in the .9 update.

you might think i'm joking but i'm serious
i suffered brain trauma and lost some of my memories, what was that game called? the one you got ur gif from

>game runs on java

WTF!? Its like these devs want us to use out dated SHIT like java SO THE IRANIANS CAN BUTT FUCK US! FUCK!

Is it possible to completely wipe out other factions? There can't be hostility if there's nobody left to feel hostile.

Attached: 1441657511382.png (510x438, 53K)

Research stations shouldn't be allowed to be right next to stars. Makes them impossible to reach, and you lose 500 supplies while you waste your time trying.

>my guns feel so weak and wimpy
get some anti-shield rockets and install real guns not that plasma/laser shit

Dezhak or whatever and Penelope's Star both have planets, but the first one has this monstrosity and P's has a crappy desert planet. First one has a Luddic Path station too.

on one hand, new york doesn't have crushing gravity, a toxic atmosphere, supervolcanoes spewing forth billions of tons of lava in daily eruptions and doesn't get plagued by pirate trades
on the other, you can own guns here

I'm saying it's about conquering planets rather than glassing them.
Soldiers get court martialed by their own superiors if they harm civilians. Mercenaries get it worse.

>jet
*unmanned drone flying over their country

>early game impossible
mining bounty hunting and planet surveying all give you more than enough to get a decent fleet together

Liru the Werewolf? Or just Liru. I too have brain problems.

yes
just use protection

just don't use sustain burn

>he doesn't find Alpha AIs and sell them to Tri Tachyon for a cool half million, speeding the inevitable AI destruction of mankind courtesy of corporate suits
Your loss.

>guns are the problem
y-yeah just never look at the race of the people committing most homicides

Liru of the NEVER EVER

Luddite terrorist cells are part and parcel with living in a big solar system

>speed burst at a 45 degree angle into flare
>change angle halfway and exit on other side
Funny how casuals cannot into physics.

You can't really own guns in New York City.

Well it came out and was a lukewarm okayish game.

>Mining
Not in core.
>Bounty Hunting
Yeah man you'll make tons of money dying or losing ships to pirates right at the start.
>Surveying
>Fly all the way out to the edge of the sector and don't salvage anything or you die
Nice.

My first colony ever was a volcanic hellhole.
Ironically it was called "Blue" by default.
It was before Alex balanced upkeep costs, so I barely made any profit.

>Spoiler
It was less than that, a relatively shitty scene viewer.

You can't conquer planets in this game without glassing them first dumbass.

hey anons, I did my first mission and got this. Should I just stash it all for later or should I sell it?

A feature that isn't implemented yet, such is life in Early Access.

forgot pic

Attached: y0mzJvD.png (1002x308, 168K)

Can't just avoid engagements. Their fleets are always faster than my 8 burn level, regardless of size, even with sustained burn on.

Set up a colony halfway between the outer reaches and "civilized" space. Gives you a resupply zone and also gets you in the process of trade/production/crafting your own fleet.

I don't know why people expected anything else from it. It was obvious from the start if you have any experience with H-games. Sorry about derailing the thread a little bit!

Right click and learn them all. Sell any extra

that was the joke

sure

>dying or losing ships to pirates right at the start
user did it ever occur to you that you shouldn't be going after the highest tier bounties right after you've finished the tutorial?

>Yeah man you'll make tons of money dying or losing ships to pirates right at the start.
Get a Lasher, some cheaper ships for support and some skill and you can easily farm low-level bounties, no joke.

What about the Pristine Nanoforges?

>y0mzJvD.png
no you got that from reddit you cancerous crossposter

Did it ever occur to you that with your 2 ships even a cheapo $30,000 bounty would fuck you?
I'm not talking about having trouble with the game, I'm criticizing user's idea.
>Get a Lasher
With what money? You just started in this example.

>non corrupted nanoforge
Fuck you I'm level 45, have two colonies, do lots of exploring and I've only found like 8 corrupted nanoforge.
Stash the nanoforge, you will need it to build quality ships later. Sell all of the blueprints that look like they're common shit (generally most of them, or any blueprint which is for a piece of gear you've already seen in the market)

Hang onto them for colony development

The core systems don't want your colony user.
Fuck off to the fringes of the sector.

no not really it's one of those games where you click on a planet and watch your trade fleet fly through empty space for half an hour

I just took it with ShareX user.

Attached: 7m1N0CT.png (501x25, 3K)

Was establishing two 150% colonies at once a big mistake? I went from 2kk to nothing and my colonies aren't even protected yet. Both are tier V and are right next to each other, I couldn't help myself.

Also, is high tech actually a meme? I barely do any damage to anything, just permastun the entire enemy fleet with emp and wait half an hour for HI lasers to cut them.

What are good ships to hand to the AI that aren't carriers?

Has everyone been using the alt thing to mass-move items in/out of storage? I have it enabled, but it isn't working for me.

For all its development time people expected more. It being a meme didn't help.

>Accept one of the technology cache missions
>get to the cache
>ten trillion billion gorillion AI ships
holy shit

That might be remotely true if it didn't take 5 minutes to fly across the entire sector. Have you tried pressing shift?

>ywn mount Crazy Danc'n Yamada onto your ship

Is there any point in manually defending a colony by the time it's got a battlestation+high command+200% fleets? I keep getting raids from other factions but my patrols keep wiping out the invasion forces before they even reach my colony. It's cool as hell, I just don't want to risk the ONE raid getting through while I'm not there, if possible.

tfw literally never had a problem with money early game
Just smuggle until you buy a few destroyers and carriers, then go bounty hunting/surveying

>150% colony
ouch

Your loadout sounds like shit. Ion cannons are good as support weapons and actually annihilate ships when their shields are down. Use missiles like sabots to take down shields quickly.

>Did it ever occur to you that with your 2 ships even a cheapo $30,000 bounty would fuck you?
Yes of course. It didn't occur to you?

>Want to survey this constellation to see if any of the non-habitable hellholes might make a good mining colony
>This supply cost
Man I hate supplies, take up all my hold space and you burn through them fast.

Ironically money isn't a problem until mid-late game when people fall for the colony money sinks and end up in perpetual debt.

aliens patch when?

youtube.com/watch?v=FCARADb9asE

>Yes of course
Then why did you suggest it to people starting out after you made salvaging a late game only activity?

1k people watching one person play starsector*
important distinction

>go dark
>sneak close enough
>survey
>burn drive away
>dab right into hyperspace without using a gate
Easy millions in AI cores and Onslaught blueprints.

Question lads:
When you are not employed by a faction, who the hell pays your (pretty high) monthly wage?

Yeah I'm really wary of setting up a colony. Haven't done much exploration/surveying yet so not nanoforges or ai cores.

You can read the description in the Intel screen for a detailed report including the raiding fleets chances against your patrol forces and colony defenses.

Grab a big Cargo Freighter and slap military subsystems on it.

It's not that there's a fleet nearby, you have to defeat the fleet to actually be able to salvage the cache

Get the survey equipment hull mod.
Apparently you graduated from some academy for rich trust fund faggots that gives you a stipend for several months after you start the game.

yeah on max speed maybe
if you want to be safe you'll be flying with go dark turned on so youre unseen

>When you are not employed by a faction, who the hell pays your (pretty high) monthly wage?
You get 15k/month stipend for your first 2 in-game years or so.

>with your 2 ships even a cheapo $30,000 bounty would fuck you
>what is the planet in the tutorial zone with multiple ships including a hammerhead and a carrier
>With what money? You just started in this example
by using the 20k or more you've gotten from the tutorial
the same applies to a modded start you're given 3 ships one hammerhead quality and enough money to buy a 4th ship if you wish to.
the entire point he was making is scavenging is the biggest snowball in the game and you can go out at level 3 and come back with a million credits or more in resources right after starting

Attached: 1549837959851.png (621x702, 56K)

are you really running on dark outside of being near planets you're trying to sell to?

>I barely do any damage to anything, just permastun the entire enemy fleet with emp and wait half an hour for HI lasers to cut them.
sounds fucking amazing

The technology caches are meant to be risky. They don't have time limits too, so the smart thing to do is come back later with a big fleet. It will always be in your intel.

any tips on systems with terran planets?
I've only found one till now

it's what you do if you don't want to get caught

>Stipend
Thanks, but where does it say this? I haven't seen anything that points to it being the case and I've played the intro a couple of times, so I don't think I've missed anything. Is it a later story mission or something?

In hyperspace? What?
And did you realzie you can see the sensor range of other fleets? Just pay attention and move around them or break sustain burn for like a minute.

Trust in red/yellow/orange stars

Oh, so now the only way to start out is to do the tutorial, making it mandatory? What a great idea you had, user.

Survey derelicts to find locations of habitable planets.

Do I have to up the ram usage of java? I am looking at this vid

youtube.com/watch?v=PwquQTmOwYs

I can't change the vmparams file though. It says I don't have access to it which is weird... wtf?

this nigga traveling 20 light years in the dark and complaining about it taking too long

>can solo Butler's fleet with the starting cruiser of the great houses
wew. The ship is fun but overpowered.

Attached: screenshot005.png (1920x1080, 898K)

There are other tabs in the Intel screen. One of them breaks down your monthly income.
I will say this game has a very dense interface so try to look for options or screens you may have missed.

If you play the tutorial its explained as a check from the Hegemony for you saving their colony.

DIABLE CHADVIONICS REPRESENT

Attached: front mission.jpg (1086x1600, 872K)

>it's what you do if you don't want to get caught
If you don't want to get caught you turn off your transponder and cruise at a comfortable pace of 20 with long distance travel turned on.

Oh no, you are stupid.

>I can't change the vmparams file though. It says I don't have access to it which is weird.
really? have you tried opening it with notepad?

just use the installer you autist

I know, I just don't know what constitutes an end game fleet.
It feels like my tiny ships all get shredded instantly, and I don't think 4 paragons is an effective strategy

>you turn off your transponder
you do both
not an argument
>use optimal strategy
>hurr why don't you just risk death every time

>this shit again
the_ride_never_ends.png

think of a colony as a 13 year old white girl in the middle of africa. Everyone will try and rape you if they can, because they can.

Going slow isn't optimal. You've got a business to run.

It always had a ton of threads and then eventually a general in /vg/ with every update.

The Remnant ships are meant to be the hardest. Generally any Remnant ship of a given hull size is going to be superior than whatever trash designs you are using thanks to Domain era tech. I don't know what the fleet looks like, but if it has capital ships, you're basically looking at the utmost challenge in the game.

Running fast is better than stealthing in hyperspace.

>find a vigilance
>tiny frigate with large missile slot
>maximum annoyance for minimum cost
>can't find a single MRM/SRM pod or LRM launcher
>can't even find a medium energy weapon for it's one other mount
>find an onslaught
>same problem
>find a venture
>same problem

Who knew guns would be the limiting factor in my fleet build up, wtf

Well you overdefensive moron, you can either get good or try to explain to literally everyone else how their way of playing the game is wrong despite the fact that we are rolling in credits.

how often do the devs update this game? I know the last one was in may

people don't really care if civilians die. Just as long as they are white.
If they aren't then you are basically hitler.

Markets change often. You may also want to check the market of a different faction. Tri Tachyon will probably have the lasers you want, Persean League usually seems to have a decent missile selection.

the 10k you start with is enough to buy fighters and you can always do one trade run to get more money
you do realize there's more than just mining stations and research stations to salvage right?

No, I meant my fleet.
I'm getting 500000 bitcoins per month and I have a lot of it, but I don't know what ships to look for.
And honestly, domain-era probe hunting is fucking tedious.

bring a single paragon and a shitload of carriers. Fighter doctrine is king.

>not an argument
It wasn't an argument, i was just stating that you are stupid. You only go dark right before entering whatever market you want to sell your wares(or entering the system if you are that kind of guy) and eat up the reputation loss. Either way its more profitable to fight the pirates and sell their ships to the nearest market you can find.

Just visit various planets and stations and check both their regular and black market.

Speaking of black market, is there any penalty for trading on the Pirates' Black Market? It seems silly that it exists in the first place, other than to work with stability modifiers.

My colonies have 13% growth rates with maximal monetary supports, is that normal or am I utterly fucked?

Sounds about right

>What if you like, salvage a bunch of broken shuttles from the pirates you can't kill

Bros should I go for a heron or a mora? I’m going for carrier game and saved up enough cash from salvaging to buy one on the black market but don’t know which. It’s to be my flagship as for now until I’m not such a shitter.

You need to curry favor with a faction so you can get access to their high end ship hulls. That, or set up a colony and build your own endgame ships. That requires some time and a good nanoforge though. I haven't played in a while so I couldn't tell you what ships are good against the Remnant specifically. I'd say try to take advantage of the fact that they are aggressive due to not fearing death.

bruh

Attached: Screenshot_20190620-153118.png (1006x566, 356K)

today i'll be dilating this trannies 2nd asshole

What the hell? So I build a spaceport and farms and then wait two years before I can add defences?

They're very conscientious of how updated game mechanics work and feel together. That means updates tend to come in major chunks, with a lot of other vanilla things being rebalanced or changed at the same time.

That means it's very much on a "when it's ready" basis that tends to get longer each time. 14 months would be a good estimate from the last update.

However, Alex makes great blog posts every month or so about new mechanics and explains his thought process toward game design. It's extremely insightful.

is this game like space rangers?

The way I see it is basically the pirate warlord wants a cut of your trade at his station. I don't think it has any real effect other than tiny amounts of rep loss with the Pirates that you normally get from black market trade.
If it's a flagship, definitely the Mora. Herons are more like escort/light carriers.

>trying to pretend that debris fields don't exist outside of you killing things by yourself
>or finding broken ships
>weapon crates
>supply drops

>get mission to survey a star in the corner of the system (literally)
>have liks 1.7k fuel
>arrive their and mission successful
>look at the map
>my fuel will barely get me back
>run out of fuel close to an inhabited star
>survive
>play more
>discover the tanker
i feel super retarded. what is the ship type that has huge cargo space?

Not even the biggest pirate ball Ive seen

any must have mods? I don't want to play vanilla. Seems like it doesn't have stuff that I want by default. For example, that nerexalin mod seems to add some good stuff. Anything else?

Uh, no user, two months is not the same as two years. Can you read the days remaining?

>I want my fighters and bombers to ravage the enemy while my carrier goes support
Heron
>I want my carrier to be a brick wall that fights with its fighters
Mora

A freighter, you doofus.

freighter dumb-dumb

Not really. Trading isn't good, there are no text-based adventure quests, and combat is completely different. The galaxy also doesn't change with time.

What's a good ship to try for for a combat oriented exploration build? I'm using a hammerhead as my capital right now, I don't think going too big would be good for my fuel balance, but I want to have good combat capabilities.

alright I got a mid sized fleet now, should I stick to gunrunning and drug smuggling or are there more profitable things to do?

Thanks fren :)

Attached: image.jpg (970x644, 233K)

Freighters, naturally. You should probably mouse over the "?" icon in the fleet screen to get full ship details.

Sseths' fanbase must be composed mainly of actual retards based on the questions in this thread

well that sucks, was looking for something to itch that space rangers/elite itch.

Apogee
Not only is it cute but its built just for exploration!

The most profitable thing in this game is assembling a 50k fleet of drone tenders, combat freighters and fuel tankers and going on a survey/salvage rampages. You can sneak/outrun almost anything, and if you get caught, all you lose is your 50k fleet.

>doing tutorial
>get the scrap fleet, autofit them at the station because I don't know what I'm doing
>in combat my ships just float around near the enemy in a circle despite telling them to attack
Have I done something wrong

You want a cruiser like an Apogee or something similar.
If you have nanoforges and an AI core, consider starting a colony. It will take a while for it to make decent money on its own, but you will attract pirates, whose bases you can seek out and easily destroy. Sometimes bounties will also be posted for those bases. The orbital stations are easy enough, battlestations are tough without at least one capital ship.

there was more but I forgot to cap it

largest cargo capacity i've seen is 100. isn't there one with 600 like tankers?

lmaoing @ u all

Attached: Untitled.png (275x50, 3K)

The AI isn't retarded so they don't overcommit in battles. You may have fucked yourself with autofit, I literally have never touched that button. It doesn't automatically buy weapons if I recall correctly, so if you didn't buy those you may be fucked. Alternatively, the market you were at simply didn't have enough weapons to outfit your fleet.

Attached: Diable Chad.jpg (544x754, 126K)

the colossus is the easiest freighter to acquire that has massive cargobay

"balanced"
dude why would you make a profit on a volcanic hellhole?

There are larger ship hulls with more capacity. Just be patient and keep looking. This one is a superfreighter:

Come back in two years and see what has been added by then.

>The way I see it is basically the pirate warlord wants a cut of your trade at his station
But there are no fees on the Pirate common market.
>Rep loss with pirates for trading on the black market
It just sounds silly.

Because you're a Chinese executive that replaces dead miners as quickly as they arrive and the planet is vomiting transplutonic ore into your cargo holds.
Are you sure? Could have sworn they still had tariffs. It is a bit silly but think of it as you selling gold in an African warlords nation behind his back when he thought he controlled the gold trade.

Even if the report says they're likely to succeed, if you have lots of patrols the invasion will be severely combat-fatigued (if) they manage to reach your colony, and even the worst orbital defense will wipe them out. Basically once you've hit both checkpoints you can leave colonies on autopilot.

It says +13% per month, that's ~7 months just to double, but I guess the game considers reaching 100% as increasing by an order of magnitude? Even then, 7 months is crazy long.
I also suddenly noticed that my two shitty colonies with 150% hazard ratings and population of 3 produce 13% of galaxy's food (and bring no income somehow). Is this going to cause problems?

>Dude this is a scifi setting how the fuck do people create environmentally contained colonies on hostile worlds!?

Are Heron carriers any good?

Just picked up the game and have literally no idea what im doing. Ship types, fleet compositions, money making, ect.

Should i watch a lets play, read a guide or is going in 100% blind viable and preferred?

Any necessary mods or should first playthrough or two be vanilla?

They'll only murderfuck destroyers and cruisers with torpedo bombers

mate even a buffalo has like 300, 390 with expanded capacity

I just ordered 20 cobra wing and 20 claw wing bombers to be produced.

Whoops. I was not thinking of the time it takes your colony to grow. 7 months is really not that long a time in this game. Keep in mind you are going from 1000 to 10,000 people. You can also speed growth by making it a free port if you want.
Depending on which galaxy age you chose, yes, it's very easy to gain high market share. I started a game with age young, and after I pivoted to fuel production I now have a supermajority market share and the Sindrian Diktat constantly seethes and plots for the day when they will bring death to all of my infidel subjects, with only one fuel refinery and a synchrocore.

thanks

Oh and by the way I forgot to mention, fuel production is insanely profitable .

Pro armchair general, got it.

Nah, 13% is no sweat. The real danger is producing antimatter fuel, since you'll start getting invaded by space iraq for fucking with their fuel monopoly

The tutorial series of missions ends with the guy giving you that income for a couple of years as a reward. idk the explanation without doing it

Just look at the economic class desu.

>synchrocore
I have both a synchrocore and a pristine forge, but my planets aren't rich with volatiles or metals. Can I still somewhat reasonably make one into a fleet factory and the other - a fuel manufacturer? If I build a patrol HQ without having hull factories, will my colony import ships and bankrupt me in a second?

>found a modified Atlas on the black market for 180k
How big did I just hit the jackpot

Also what are the best hullmods/weapons for it?

How are the new luddic and pirate capitals? I want a big capital ship to be the centerpiece of my fleet but I straight up can't find one except the pirate one.

Soviet mod when?

What the fuck do I need to be able to take on pather bases aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

What triggers Hegemony penis inspection days? If I'm cooperative with them, will it make them less likely? Would be a shame to waste all those cores.

Yes industry and extraction/refinement are two different things. If you make an industry for building ships then your imports will be the raw materials for those ships.
> If I build a patrol HQ without having hull factories, will my colony import ships and bankrupt me in a second
I doubt it, but I can't be certain. I haven't played as much as I did before colonies were released and I'm trying stuff out too. My first planet had ruins so I built a tech mine and then heavy industry. Built a Patrol HQ and never went into the red after that.

I would have a solid million you can invest. You need to get defenses set up quick unless you want to be flying back to it every 20 minutes.

is there one? I'd love to kill some commies

Kinetic weapons and reapers.

Just bribe them, Hegemony shills are easy.
Capital ships and cruisers.

Are there a limited amount of AI cores to be found or can derelict ships respawn? Some of my cores got plundered by a hegemony raid and I can't find any more.

>visit three systems
>fucking nothing on them
just fuck my shit up senpai
should've stuck do drug dealing

Time to plunge into REDACTED

They're dropped by remnant fleets as well although they are usually gammas.

I hope you find something you can enjoy, user.

What should I be looking for in a potential colony?

Play until you have a question, come read thread.

>Duzahk (the empty system in the middle of core space) has a terran world with good ores / rare ores
Is there literally any reason not to colonize this shit? Feels almost broken.

Duzahk is random, so you just lucked out

Accessibility rating (tied to habitability, proximity to other colonies and war). Ruins are also a strong incentive due to tech mining. It depends on whether you want money or to find better/new tech.

Hazard rating no higher than 150%.
Class 4 or 5 survey scan.
Having other good planet in the same system so they can cover each other with patrols.
