Why are PC gamers so fanatical and violent?

People aren't really angry about the epic exclusivity. Yes, people are bothered by it, but angry? No. This is a random game that they never would have played even if it were on steam and gog.

The reason people are so upset is

If you go so far as to call people crybaby gamers you don't need to listen to and even say they need to be gassed, they're not going to like you.
>B. Epic's stance on the controversy
Adding fuel to the fire, Epic basically took the opportunity to openly support attacking your fans
>C. The precedent it sets
This encourages more developers to do the same. They can gather sympathy and market themselves positively to create a fanbase until the last second, then turn on their own fans the second Epic gives them millions and they no longer have any form of accountability because they've already gotten their royalties ahead of time. Being complete assholes to the fans means nothing to them because they no longer need to care about sales. This spreads to other ways like they would no longer need to give any amount of customer support or patch a broken buggy game. Encouraging developers to do this is bad for everyone.

You're making a game you're passionate about and your niche of supporters. Then the person in charge of PR decides to shit on all of your supporters and people who never had interest in your game in the first place. Completely ruining all the trust from your supporters and now previously possible supporters hate your shit.
