It's been a while since I played and I only went through it once, but the major gripe I had with Valhalla was getting different dialog options. A lot of the time it boiled down to just giving them more alcohol than the drink needs and getting them more drunk than they asked for. If there's a bit more variety and more choice I'll give it a go. I liked the aesthetics and setting well enough, but I think it fell a bit flat on the writing and gameplay front.

In all seriousness, I think the mom thing is legitimately awesome and interesting.
There are so many games that explore fatherhood, to the point it's Sony's default AAA format (God of War, Last of Us etc.). But there is so little that explores motherhood as a subject, and the few that do don't have the protagonist actually BE a mother. It's just thematic (Metroid Other M) or the characters takes on the "role" of a mother (Bayonetta).
I think it's a legitimately interesting subject I wish would be seen more in games. And I don't mean I want a breastfeeding sim before you take this shit too literally, I just mean I want more mother protagonists as parental protagonists are already interesting but the angle taken on them is usually the father one.
Though yes, I also do enjoy mother characters that are hot too.

In short you serve alcohol to customers and depending on the drinks you serve they get drunk or stay sane. reading all that and it's such a damn shame. I actually enjoyed Vallhalla for what it was despite avoiding Resetera, Tumblr, faggots and especially trannies like the plague irl. the characters might have been a bunch of lesbians, but they were appealing anime yuri style than anything - not the repulsive real life Resetera dykes with butch hair cuts. I mean if they continued treating these topics like they did in the previous game and not going overboard, then even genderbender tropes in the style of Ranma 1/2 would be fine, as long as they don't go the Resetera route.
his soundtrack was 10/10. it was so good I actually bought it. it greatly elevated the mood and atmosphere of the game. when I read a while back that he wasn't doing nirvanna's ost, I was really disappointed. now I learn it's some freakish bronyfucker, fucking hell.
I really love the dithering art style they are going with this time, but I'm very cautious about this game now. Might pirate and try first, if it's good and does not have turbo mental illness cancer I will buy it.

It tastes awful, but some people like the way it messes with their brains. Most people only like it because they're told they should like it.
What it does to your brain (and thus personality) is very different for each individual person, so if it's good or fun for you is hard to say.
One guy I know gets violent and easily annoyed, but when he's in a good mood he's very cheery.
Another guy gets oddly honest and passive aggressive, and when he's coming down from it he manages to suck the energy out of everyone else because he gets crazy tired.
A third guy gets unstoppably talkative at first, which is nice, but then he gets depressed if he goes further than being tipsy. I wonder if that has changed since he got a GF, but I doubt it.
My fourth pal goes from being full of ideas and taking the initiative to becoming a relatively passive observer who's in on most ideas and always ready for a challenge.
Personally I don't think so much before I talk, this is commonly a bad thing but since I occasionally overthink some things then it helps sometimes too. I also become more open to challenges and every perverted thought leaves my mind - Every lewd thought will leave my mind and I'll be pretty slow to catch on to innuendos.

I'm the only drinker in my friend group and it's weird, a Norse kid I hang out with around campus used to drink with me is going dry because he got so drunk one night he tried to sexually assault a cop. I didn't mention it, but I become a very good listener when I get drunk, goes really well with people's talkativeness. While I can't be a good listener on subjects that I couldn't care less about, the fact that people are often enthusiastic about what they talk about when they're drunk is often simply enough. As long as the mood is good, the interest is genuine and I can come with a small input now and then then I can listen for hours. Only two things can ruin it:
Like I said. if the subject turns to something that do not interest me, like sexual stuff because I become completely asexual when I'm drinking or something like personal relations and intrigues between people I don't know.
Other thing would be a negative mood. One thing that I get really good at when drinking is picking up the mood. Probably why I like listening to people being enthusiastic about something. If the discussion turns to complaining in a less-than-cheery tone then I start getting uncomfortable.
Lots of people - like your pal - get sexual or otherwise frisky when drunk, and lose their inhibitions holding them back from doing stupid shit. I can't relate to that at all and while I know it's a good thing it also kinda feels like I'm missing out because I'm also relatively low-libido when sober.
Reminds me of another mate I haven't seen in many years, only seen him drunk once and I've heard about him as well. When sober he's a picture perfect good christian boy who's responsible and calculated in all he says. But when he's been drinking he somehow oozes sex appeal and drowns in women without even trying. I think it might have to do with him not losing his usual calm and intelligent aura, but he also starts shining with confidence at the same time.
