Is their coach just shit? I get he's supposed to be a junior to Kamogawa, but I'm 1100 chapters in and there hasn't really been any sort of development between him and his boxers. Really takes a lot of enjoyment out of their fights.

It's not a tool for solely hevyweight boxers, it's just a tool.Boxing is all about finding techniques that work best with your body and honing them to the razor's edge. Dempsey roll works for Ippo because despite his tiny stature and weight, he is a mound of densely packed explosive muscle fibers.

Same, I stopped reading when Ippo kept jobbing fights that should've been won easily considering his level. Also the manga was starting to get kinda depressing with Ippo's problems and Takamura becoming bitter about everyone and Kamogawa.
