It's an impressive effort but unfortunately constrained by running on the serious engine, it also does the whole lock you in a room with enemy teleporters thing pretty often and occasionally they'll clip out of the level or get trapped behind doors or geometry and make it impossible to progress.
Also the weapon animations suck and lack any impact and the freezethrower T-poses enemies.

Yeah so I exaggerate a little and i'm willing to give things a chance but I personally don't enjoy playing someone's "interpretation" of a remake.
Looks above average quality at least so it can't be Russian devs and definitely better than anything Gearbox could shit out.

Black Mesa Source is a remake of a 3D game using a slightly more advanced engine, this is a, say, retooling of a build engine game using a modern one. So there's a significant difference in scope, even though this is just L.A. meltdown and not the whole thing. There's also the fact that Duke 3D is a very replayable game, unlike Half Life.
