What are the best case simplifications/changes that could be made?
I'm positive they'll add a button command for dashing to make airdashing easier.

Removing Jump Install is something I'd be completely content with, I don't mind them removing Guts and different character weights either. I see some people saying they should remove RISC, which I do not want, and a lot of people bring up making it so there's only one kind of RC, but I think it's still important to have at least 2 if they're going to have YRC so that one can cost less than the other.

One of the key parts of the new Team Red Artstyle is that there is no tweening.

They are fucking not hand picking all those frames. There are a lot more key frames this time but that would also allow for filling in between frames better.
Of course they are not filling everything, there are still clear jumps in animation in some places.

I just want to point out an example. Sol's string and the 3rd hit. The slow mo happens and the last hit still moves forward frame by frame. They don't look like hand picked frames. Rather, there are 2 key frames and the engine fills those frames in between for the slowmo to happen.

First of all adding new outfits and new animations is where 99% of the work is, new base models wouldn't affect workload much
Secondly, they are clearly new models too.

They look more like touched up models, but redoing the outfits to this extent is basically "new models" for 50% of the assets. If nothing else they built them on top of the old models with new or cleaned up assets (I swear Sol's arm is taken right from is Xrd model), which is understandable.

I still can't tell if Ky got a cape that looks like a jacket or if he refuses to wear his jacket correctly.
Also these designs are way better holy shit.

Its 3D. Tweening is the default way to animate 3D. Removing frames from between is giving the illusion its not. You don't fucking model the 3d model in every single individual frame when using 3DSMAX or Blender. You make one model and then move it around with motion tween.

Ky looks so fucking good, I can't wait to play him when the game releases.

1. why would Daisuke do a prequel when he stated that he wants to end the story
2. sol's weapon is now called outrage MK II. Outrage was split into various different weapons a long time ago. Thunderseal and Fireseal being part of those. Junkyard Dog MK III was already made of Flashing Tooth and Fireseal. He was obviously trying to rebuild Outrage. If it was a prequel he would be using fireseal or a concrete pillar.
3. Ky would either use Thunderseal/Aquila/Magnolia Eclair I or II. He doesn't use any of those.
4. Ky's short hair is not an argument for a prequel. People seem to forget that you can do mundane things like cutting hair in a world where magic is real. He most probably has to cut it every few days now like Sin and Sol, since he got infected by Gear DNA.
Also he is more muscular. Again a byproduct of gear DNA. He did not have this body before or in xrd.

Timing, probably. GGXrd Sign came out when BB was well underway into it's own series. You technically could use this art for BB, but you'd essentially be spending more time, effort, and money by making the same game you already have but with different visuals. It was probably the easiest and most cost-effective route to do BBTag instead. If they ever make a new BB series though, they'll probably do it then.

The stages are some of what has stood out as looking particularly better compared to Xrd, Xrd's a good looking game, but some of the environments are downright ugly, just look at some of the earlier IKs where the characters are in a featureless low res wasteland. I don't even know what you're getting at with Ky's hand and the impact dust, they both look completely fine. The backgrounds here look great in comparison to some of the stages in Xrd.

I like a lot of the new designs in Xrd, I just didn't like that a lot of characters just had their old designs again, it felt like the characters clashed with one another a bit because of that. I understand re-using old designs in Xrd's case because they wanted to emphasize how they were recreating the old sprites in this new style, but I hope most characters have a new design in this so they all feel like they have a consolidated aesthetic. They're off to a good start with these designs anyway.

Because it doesn't need to be and we'd be better off with a new Blazblue in the same style as CF.

I'd be fine with button command airdash. It was something I never knew I wanted until Crosstag had it. I generally don't even have problem with execution but IAD can be tough, hell if I don't play for too long before sessions I need to jump into training and just spam out IADs for bit. As for what I think can reasonably go without hurting the integrity of the game

It will probably have a healthy start. Xrd didn't have that big a team, so it was an uphill battle in many different ways. Now they have bigger budget, better understanding of how to make characters in this style and bigger team. Also a base to work off of, I doubt they will have to completely make all models from scratch again.

God, the OutRage mk2 is fucking huge. This actually looks like his best sword yet, gives massive shout outs to both his Order Sword and Fireseal in it's design.

You don't even have to play with them, I've been playing public lobbies in EU since Rev 2 came out.

Attacking while blocking with guard points instead of super armor or counter stancing. All purpose projectile and very long fujin coverage with a move that covers a lot of ground. Really fun character with not many like them.

Sol only beats Ky when Ky isn't serious. As proven in rev2.

Forget online for a while. Do the extensive mission mode where it shows you every fucking fighting game thing ever. Do the trial mode and learn the combos, even if it takes a few days. Their relationship is complicated. Sol respects Ky's battle prowess, but hates his ethics, which he feels clouds his ability to make proper decisions. Ky sees Sol's lack of general respect as contemptible and that he should try to be a better person. They are coming to a better understanding of each other, but they still have trouble moving past their old grudge. Matters were probably made worse with Ky realizing that he's now related to Sol and their bickering has become the typical in-law fighting joke.

It always did, but Sol kept it sheathed. After story A shows it breaking from Ky's attack and it's actually got a huge blade. Sol probably just never uses it because he's too scared to go completely all out.

Don't worry about that too much, I was just moving between blue and dark green for two years, I'm light green now but still feel like I'm more deserving of being dark green. You'll always be making some improvements though, and even though I feel like I should be dark green, when I look at old replays of when I started and was dark green I am way worse than I am now, so even I've improved and you will too if you stick with it. If you're in EU I will play with you if you want though, I don't care if you're good or not.

Remove Jump Install
Simplify character weight/hurtboxes during combos so that you don't have to memorize so many different routes per character but without removing character specific combos and optimizations.
Change air recovery so that you don't have to mash, either by letting you escape just by holding or something different.
Make slowdowns during cancels something that requires more resources or something so that you don't have slow motion shit every ten seconds.
Remove danger time obviously.
A lot of people complain about blitz shield and I remember taking a bit longer into grasping that mechanic so polishing it or changing it doesn't sound bad.
Make wake up work by 3~ classes instead of giving each character it's own unique wake up timing. Don't remove face up and face down but be more clear about which moves causes which type of knockdown.
Some people want guts removed but I don't see the point, at the end of the day it's just more hp for some characters. Maybe reduce it a bit so that you don't have to go for a million air jabs in the final parts of a round.

"bait and switch", slayer is a pure counter character.
You need tio pay extra attention to footsies with him so you can have those sweet counter hit dash punches that you can then convert into some crazy shit.

But because there are so many mechanics and characters specified interactions like different waking up timing and straight up kusoge mechanics like danger time, that I feel there is just too much work to be done just to start playing. Let's hope they will casualize it a bit

modern asw games use variable delay netcode which as you can imagine is a travesty. who the fuck wants their timings changing every few seconds?
ggpo uses proprietary rollback netcode which essentially hides all visible and felt delay if used within a proper environment.

They're called Overdrives. The numbers just represent the motion, think of a numpad and equate it to the motions you can make on a stick. So 236 would be a quarter circle forward because you go from the bottom position and roll over to the right position.

KI actually has a fairly sizable population. The fact that you can play people with 250 ping and it feels great makes your pool of available players really high. Killer ranked is filled up too.
When I boot up my bone I get a match faster than tekken and jive, and the quality is always better than those games. I see a lot of windows store users too.
The game just isn't talked about much in the usual circles.

If it's around 4 frames (BBCP arcade machines have 8~ frames of input lag, 4 more than the console version and some characters are considered stronger due to their now unreactable overheards), I usually start feeling the difference with 3 frames onwards.

This is gonna be a controversial take, but I feel that fighting games should move away from regular public lobbies. Just have ranked, player matches/lobbies, and a casual large scale single elim FT2 tournament mode where matches come and go lightning quick and you move on to the next tournament. Basically the FG equivalent to a BR mode.

Ky is simply better at fighting than Sol (Ky is the most dangerous/powerful human in the world), but Sol ha access to more raw power via his Gear nature/Dragon Install.
Sol going all out would be removing his limiter headband.
Ky going all out is simply him saying to himself, "Y'know, FUCK this guy".

Watch the sample, keep trying, higher up advanced trials can be very tricky and are never really optimal. You're best off finding some Axl combos from the discord or something, I heard some one wrote a pretty good guide on the Axl discord

Ive been doing that but i still cant seem to get it, i thought my problem was i was doing the highjump cancel upwards instead of diagonal upward but that doesnt seem to change much. Thanks user, ill go check them out too.

2 button commands are fine, and complaining about them for a game that has garbage like GG's throw system is silly. They are far less convoluted than things like position sensitive moves like close slash and throw.

These are probably most like that song, but really any of the songs with that singer are reminiscent of it, though ones like Freesia, Coming Home and Lily are a lot less intense.

That is a better throw command though, at least for GG. It wouldn't suit every game, but it suits GG better than a 2 button command.
