Who the fuck thought having a competitive mode in an asymmetrical horror game was a good idea? Not only that but theres no casual mode so you're forced to play with these cunts. Are there any other games that catch that slasher feeling?

you can't get leatherface who has a perk that really cuts down grinding
any OC you can pick up by grinding some currency but any copyrighted characters like ghost face or freddy cost real money

Ruin really is the least fun part of playing survivor desu

Exactly why I dropped it, was fun for the first few weeks with friends scaring the shit out of each other. Competitive modes only ever do harm to game communities imo.

I think it's more the players than the devs pushing the competitive side of dbd. I mean certain add ons are balanced around the fact they're rare and only last one game. Once you play custom games with friends you realize there is no way to take the game seriously.

Sadly unless they nerf gen rushing it has to stay that way. Been on both sides and getting gen rushed on as killer is worse than dealing with ruin.

true but it's only the really thing there that actually buys you time even if it's just a few seconds. Any half cordinated group of survivors can absolutely flog you if you don't have good map pressure. The only other real alternative out there is corrupt intervention but it's kind of a coin flip where survivors just stealth for the duration or it enables them to work on inner gens and then moving out to the outward ones making it harder to 3 gen themselves.

Sounds to me like shitty game design if a perk like ruin is mandatory on most killers to function competitively. Not only that, but ruin also absolutely destroys low rank survivors who aren’t as experienced or coordinated. It isn’t healthy for the game at all.

issue is the devs themselves are low rank so balance is nonexistent

90% of those weekly updates are just new skins
i'm convinced the devs made a deal with the devil because any new game that comes out in this genre dies or is too shit to play

This right here. Playing killer and even survivor in low level games is really fun. As killer you get to be scary and do stupid shit. As survivor if you survive it feels great. I quit that game long ago.
