I agree.
Time and place, I'll be there
>atrociously slow pacing
>aside from the hub the environments are generally uninspired and drab
>not fucking scary, even FF1 had its moments
>slow run speed makes traversing the same areas a massive chore
I don't think so Tim, easily one of the worst entries.
Every mainline Fatal Frame is great but I like 3 the least. Wasn't entirely crazy about its pacing with the house and miasma bullshit towards the end, but when it's straight up Fatal Frame it's a-ok, m8.
>slow run speed makes traversing the same areas a massive chore
In his defense that's just this series in general. I was never bothered by the run speed, though.
I suppose. One of the things that really tipped me over was the massive amounts of backtracking and having to go through the exact same environments but with different characters and little to no meaningful changes. Its one of the only games I've ever returned for a refund, that kind of artificial padding is the worst.
I'll never forget those feet under the stairs. You know the ones. And the mirror spook. The main character's house was the scariest part of the whole game.
Backtracking is part of the deal with classic survival horror. Also, don't play 5 if it bothers you that much, it's probably the worst of the lot about arbitrary revisits.
>só €€onygger exclusive
Fuck you Tecmo. Fuck you.
How come there hasn't been any rereleases for the first 3 fatal frame games?
I'm only salty about 4/2 Wii since they never made it stateside. Luckily I knew someone who had a copy of 4 so I got to play it but I still haven't played 2 Wii.
There have been on PS3. That said, they're due for HD remasters but considering Nintendo co-owns the franchise now who knows what kind of red tape issue that might cause.
>he doesnt know
delete this and never return before you find out
Nintendo doesn't own shit, they just pay for exclusivity.
Fuck that mirror spook. And fuck that house.
That house was supposed to be your safe zone where you at least feel secure but nope the ghosts have all invaded this space too not making a move and just spooking you ready to attack at any time and you dont even have anything to defend yourself with
Silent Hill 4 did the whole "invading your safe space" thing better even though it's a worse game overall.
Tell me
>source: another article with no source
amazing
The PS3 ports came out over a year later so even if Nintendo did co-own the franchise there wasn't enough red tape to prevent Tecmo from putting the old games on whatever platform they wanted.
Hmm, looking into it did pull some interesting results. It seems that Nintendo does have some legal standing with this series but not full on co-ownership, at least none that can be directly proven. What DOES seem to be the case is that they own the publishing rights for FF4 and FF2 Wii, as well as straight up owning Spirit Camera, which is basically a spinoff in name alone but still not quite the same thing. Presumably that's also the case for FF5, but I didn't look too hard into that one. Fascinating, then, how this information was so widely perpetuated yet based on probably a slight misconception. I mean, Nintendo does own some publishing rights here and there and whoever reported on that probably read into that as co-ownership. Huh, the more you know.
afaik Nintendo has publishing rights for 4, Spirit Camera, PZ2 Wii, and 5. It's just a Bayonetta or REmake type situation where Nintendo commissioned exclusives from another company's IP.
Which is a form of "co-ownership", but only for those titles. It's not on a copyright level so no retrospective legal limbo bullshit, KT can do the fuck ever with those earlier games. REMASTERS FUCKING WHEN REEEEEEEEEE
August 6th 1945, Hiroshima Japan
>He says this on August 6th
Whoa
Fuck the bathroom, especially that mirror. Fuck that stupid ghost and fuck me for playing it alone at night with my bathroom mirror behind me.
Its the best game in the series follow by 2 then 5..
I like 1 the most. The Himuro Mansion might be my favorite setting in a horror game, period.
it is
the best scare is in your room, under your desk you know that
