It died because Crystal Dynamics was moving on to do projects like Soul Reaver and the Tomb Raider revival and the general focus in the landscape aimed more on them than cartoon platformers like Gex

It’s a bit of a puzzle boss actually. You can ground pound the pillars to make it go down one and the pillar directly across go up one. You have to basically reverse the way the pillars are at first, by making it go from a slope to the north of the room to a slope to the south of the room. Then you can bounce your ball up to the top and hit a ball switch that instantly kills Frankenstein. That’s tedious enough already, but every time you ground pound a pillar it makes a bolt of electricity go to the pillar directly across, and that will temporarily stun Frankenstein but will instantly pop your RUBBER ball. Frankenstein will also periodically electrify himself and try to pop your ball. All in all it’s a shit boss and was very difficult for my dumb child self

don't want to seem like a shill post, but there is an indie game on steam that is similar to mischief makers. its called grapple force rena instead of grabbing you have a grapple beam which does most of the same shit except shaking, and you use it to swing around like bionic commando to replace boost jumping. game has a free demo, its kind of short but the controls are tight.
