I haven't actually played World 1, but based on everything I heard about it, it's not terribly casual friendly and that gameplay style can be pretty offputting for people not used to it to begin with. I don't doubt it has value, but I think a newcomer should see if they're interested with the newer World games first.

Well, I have played some of the new World games, and I know that there's more info you typically need to know than that, like the best stat raising strategies, which villagers to recruit and where they are, etc, and I do feel that if you need to look up that much, than at a certain point, you may as well just watch a Youtube playthrough instead of playing it. I was really feeling that even with Re:Digitize. Not as much with N0, but even then I didn't realize just how OP that Defend command was

Most of them are species, and the "Big bad" ones (Aka The Royal Knights, The Demon lords, The Devas, The Ancients, Olympos Xll) work mostly like legendary Pokemon

There's definitely species but I think "in lore" there's only ever one of the Digimon with the big names and titles at a time.
