I dont think the setting is good enough. Egypt was grand
I am but I'm currently stuck pleasing these fucking Spartan kings.
>playing nu-AC
>playing anything after Rouge
Honestly considered it after hearing that the combat is actual combat now, but I wont be tricked into buying an Ubisoft game again.
>playing AC at all
>can't assassinate a barely-clothed amazon huntress with your ancient magical spear because she is 3 levels above you
>t. wasn't here in 2010
I'm enjoying them a lot. I do miss social stealth, however.
>play AC 1
>boring garbage
>years go by
>nothing to play
>see people here hyping Black Flag
>buy it on a sale
>it's boring garbage
Yeah, no.
>not enjoying it for the sailing and ship battles alone
You may have no soul.
Get 45 frames per second on max settings 1440p on Assassin's Creed: Origins.
Turn the game down to 720p on lowest settings and get 50 frames per second. Fuck Assassin's Creed.
This shit right here. I might actually enjoy Ass Creed Odyssee if there was a mod to remove all level scaling bullshit.
Remember they stated that they don't need to optimize, people just need stronger PC's. Fuck Ubisoft indeed.
Can't even maintain 60 fps on a fucking GTX 1080 ti. Yes, Ubishit can fuck itself.
>that fucking picture
Altair would be rolling in his grave. What the fuck are they doing?
I put like 100 hours on Origins so I am not playing AssCreed for like 6 months
Ubisoft stated that a while ago that they're moving away from historical accuracy and, more or less, going full fantasy while being as "inclusive" as possible. Basically the series that started off as an info dump of historical facts with a few liberties has been turned into typical Hollywood shit.
I'm trying. Combat is just LMB spam and I'm immediately overburdened with a dozen fetch quests right out of the gate.
>playing old AC
honestly no series has ever been worse than assassins creed.
"max settings" are for retards. Learn how games work. For Odyssey hardware unboxed has a great video youtube.com
for 99% of all other games, just the second highest preset.
Hey retard. I said reducing settings to lowest and resolution to 720p barely raises the frame-rate. The game was completely designed to be played at 30 fps.
They rebooted AssCreed with Origins as a light-fantasy Witcher 3 RPG games, complete with levels, loot, enemy level scaling so assassinating someone from behind does literally only 10% damage to HP and aggros everyone around you and whatnot.
Why would i do that when Origins is the superior game? Odyssey is TRASH.
Factually wrong. You're talking about a 50+ years industry
>AC is SO OVER-SATURATED, THEY'RE ALL THE FUCKING SAME, HOW ARE PEOPLE STILL PLAYING THESE FUCKING GAMES
>ugh, finally, time to get back to Dark Souls 9.
based and redpilled. although Aya is still an insufferable twat in that one, and almost ruins the entire game with her presence.
Blows my mind that people act like Origins is a masterpiece and Odyssey is shit. They’re the same fucking game in different settings AND they’re both shit.
Nah, Odyssey is grindier, worse main character, less accurate map (imaginary Monuments and areas) more fantasy elements, magic powers instead of combos, no shield or parrying, quantity over quality, many little detail and touches removed. Just to name the big ones
What the fuck? Is there really monsters in AC now?
they're people twisted by pieces of eden by the isu
I've already played Ghost Recon Wildlands, I'm good. You played one Ubishit game, you have played every Ubishit game. And Ubishit is called Ubishit for a reason. They're worse than EA in my opinion, because at least EA puts a little bit of effort into scamming you.
They were already pushing the RPG lite elements pretty hard with Unity and by extension Syndicate.
Latest version isn't cracked yet so no I won't.
''assassins'' and ''creed''
>play ass-optimization creed
Have ubisoft said anything about that new game with mythological creatures
Yes, you have to hunt down and kill a Minotaur, Medusa, Sphinx, and Cyclops for your dad Pythagoras (who is 300 years old) to unlock the gates of Atlantis. It's as stupid as it sounds.
How convenient
ever since I discovered you can make an OP burn build and abuse every enemy with kiting it got really boring
I miss AC Brotherhood
>How convenient
Yeah it's pretty dumb, the Isu that talks to you in Atlantis goes on some short tirade about them using their tools to make the monsters that humans wrote stories about
Game could have very easily done without them. The fights were meh to absolute garbage (Medusa's was the worst 100%)
The isu went extinct 75,000 years ago, why would they be making Greek Mythological monsters from 2500 years ago??
We don't even have gameplay footage. The stuff behind closed doors said it plays a lot like BotW but that's all we know.
f-fuck, there goes my dream of making a greek themed zelda clone
For me? It's AC: Origins, the only good AC game this whole generation
I don't fucking know
I can only guess that the descriptions of those monsters are far older than that because all the monsters are found inside Isu structures.
Also the pieces of eden seem to be programmed to transform regular folk, that come in to contact with it, in to the monsters if the previous one is killed/destroyed.
Exactly how I feel. I always hated the AC games mostly because of the combat so I want to try it out but I know the game is probably shit anyway because Ubisoft.
Watch Dogs 2 is actually pretty fun though
See, this is retarded, Odyssey is retarded.
That's not to say that Asscreed wasn't already retarded because it certainly was, this is just a whole new level of retarded.
Did I mention how retarded it was?
I have been. It's tedious as fuck and I love Greek myths. Seeing Greece recreated is great, but this level system makes no sense. If you're a single level below an enemy, it's either a 20 minute fight or suicide once a mercenary two levels above you shows up. It's like I'm forcing myself to go through this. Currently at level 27, just met my mom and doing missions on Paros. I can't believe I have to put in another 30 hours to beat this game.
Because there's actually quite a lot of Isu tech and minds left running around.
Hah, the worst game in the series? Yikes, but perhaps you were too young to play the masterpiece that was Brotherhood.
Amazing that's right where I quit. Huge turn in the story ooohhhhhh nope here are 10 new errands to run
>Seeing Greece recreated
(Poorly)
Honestly it just pissed me off how inaccurate it was.
It really is retarded
Honestly the only redeeming factory of Odyssey is the Cultist hunting. Everything else is just not AC, or forced AC without concern for consistency
Yikes
Syndicate and Odyssey are the worst games in the series, my friend. Instead, I must recommend you play Black Flag.
I'm downloading Origins as I type this, you better not be fucking with me you niggers
>Honestly the only redeeming factory of Odyssey is the Cultist hunting
And even then that's not redeeming because they don't make you hunt the cultists yourself. You pick up clues, and then it just tells you where the cultist is. You don't have to read or interact with the clues in any way. It just tells you.
Also, none of them had death scenes or any scenes at all really so it's no different than Assassinating random guards.
I dunno, i think they did a pretty solid job, especially considering how many islands are there in real life and how big Greece itself actually is.
>tfw you landed in Naxos and got a comfy reminder of when you were there six years ago irl
why does that dog look so retarded, you would think all 3 heads would be facing the character but apparently theyre all retarded
viking game is their last chance to prove this series isnt irredeemable
That's a fair point, the part of it I enjoyed most was guessing who the cultists were prior to getting most/all of the clues. Was definitely held back/let down by being forced to get all the clues.
The best cultist hunts imo, was guessing the last cultist, and the twins on that island (where one was the priestess and the other a cultist) and choosing which of them to kill based on one of them saying "keep the faith" or whatever
Could have been a lot better
I hope you like Greek controlled Egypt because that's what most of the game is about.
Forever mad that they didn't have it set during the unification of North and South Egypt under Menes. Yeah I know we don't know all that much that went down then but Ubisoft are already making this shit up however they want so why not have it set during a novel time period
I never finished an assassins creed game, or most games desu. But Odyssey hooked me something fierce. It might just have been that it reminded me of the Greece I visited, but it's such an awesome world, the story was interesting, the stupid real time game segments were barely present. I played till completion, collected all the rare weapons and will probably go back for the DLC. I think it's worth a try even if you're burned out on AC. If only just to walk around ancient Greece.
Maybe some of the vegetation was accurate to IRL but the segmentation into different biomes/seasons really dulled things and made huge swathes of the map identical to eachother. Beyond that the actual culture and architecture of the Greeks was massively misrepresented. I mean they have these giant fucking 100ft statues everywhere and not once do they tell you "lol we made these up". Someone who knows less about history will just assume that's real. As for culture the whole thing is like a Disneyland version of Greece. Every character acts sarcastic and quippy like they're all part of some big joke, as well as constantly referencing modern culture and memes. It's like a marvel movie. I'm not saying ancient people were humorless but this game goes way too far trying to be quirky
I heard it's got shitty optimization on PC.
God Of War series does cerberus better
just play those instead
Odyssey's map was too large for its own good, no one can convince me otherwise
>I never finish games but I like odyssey
Tells you everything you need to know
It's good, just don't burn yourself out by trying to complete everything you come across. Go at a leisurely pace and only explore things that catch your eye or if you want treasure.
Seeing Alexandria and Cyrene was pure classicalkino. More ancient would have been cool but the diversity of culture we got here with Greek, Egyptian, Greek-Egypt mix, And Roman was awesome.
I don't suppose anyone here's played AC3R, have they? Did you guys have more glitches than in AC3? Because holy crap they actually managed to make it glitchier. The worst I ever had in 3 was an invincible dead guard stuck on a ladder as Haytham, flying into the air on a specific ledge in New York, and various clipping issues. In 3R I'm falling through the floor, clipping into the floor, using The Force to kill enemies constantly, Connor losing his hair, and having tons of UI elements never leave. Not to mention those terrifying faces and the lighting system dancing between actually stunning and light so blinding you could swear someone is shining a flashlight into your eyes.
Several of the Homefront moments are ruined because of the new lighting system, the inn is perpetually dark and covered in fog, when the tailor presented the flag the entire room was so dark, her flag was clipping into her, and when Connor lifted it up everything int he back was glowing. Discussions with Achilles also cause the entire room to be covered in one color and it looks awful.
Also at no point do you sodomize the living shit out of a 10 year old as part of your standard Spartan bonding system and then go makes the lives a living hell for the Helots who are you responsible for your entire economy and agricultural sectors.
Yeah lmao you actually go and do menial grunt work for the helots constantly
>Someone who knows less about history will just assume that's real.
Holy shit you're retarded.
I guess portraying the Spartans as horrifically brutal as they actually were would have hurt sales.
Dropped Origins when I saw the combat animations. Seriously ubi what the fuck? You will not trick me again with Odyssey!
You underestimate the average normie who thinks anything with swords and bows = Medieval
Origins were pretty normal. I don't see what the issue would be. At least it's no longer bamham combat where you literally only use two buttons and spend half the time watching paired animations. That's not a game, that's a chore.
>slowly following NPCs
>investigate areas
>call Senu!
>FUCK PRIESTS!
I dropped it at the Testikles quest
>WHERE IS CHARLES LEE????
Bayek loves priests though and Odyssey also has "call senu" and "investigate"
Sure but there's no need to fault a game for general stupidity and ignorance of your average person.
finally beat the entire story in 93 hours
But the game is the one making up monuments just to look cool and appeal to Normies who don't know about the setting
Play it
Nothing wrong with that. It's a game. The game isn't at fault when a moron sees something it in and mistakes it for reality.
You may not be aware, traditionally this series has presented itself as being Historically authentic. Odyssey is no different. On the map, they have a codex mode which tells you Historical information about certain areas (like I said before, they even include facts on these statues but make no effort to clarify they're not real)
The game is also getting an "education mode" as dlc soon. So yes, I would say it's the game's own fault for presenting itself as Historically authentic but then including multitudes of imaginary shit.
>"education mode" as dlc soon.
What if that clears up all the discrepancies you're bothered about?
Why does Charles become greasy after the Templar reveal?
That would be great, but you know what would've been better? If they had just not put shit like that in to begin with, it does nothing but make the game feel tacky and self-contradictory
Better question is what happened to Connor when he grew up. He's either perfectly fine or his face ends up looking like this.
> traditionally this series has presented itself as being Historically authentic
cryinglaughing.emoji
Yea I mean, who wants to have fun when we can just sneak on top of a building an press one button to kill a guy and do a quest lol am i right gamers?
...what? Are you fuckin kidding me user? After MAYBE AC2, the historical accuracy drops down pretty fuckin significantly.
Go look up womens rights in sparta and athens in ancient greece on even wikipedia and compare that shit to Odyssey. Holy fuck, get off your phone and learn a fucking thing today
Fun isn't a good thing.
I didn't say it was accurate I said it presented itself as such. They always had codex modes and shit like that telling you info about everything and everyone in the game
I'm saying Odyssey is trash, get some reading comprehension.
Those parts aren't fun though. They're a grind like everything else in Odyssey
