Crafted Yoshi is probably the worst alt in the game, its totally pointless and barely visible during the match. Yarn Yoshi would've been better, at least its a visible difference.

I was kind of surprised he's not an alt given Nintendos obsession with Dark (Protagonist) characters.

I'd love for them to give Fox a James McCloud costume given it would just be his default with sunglasses.
I've always wanted Young or Toon Link to get a pink haired alt that looks like the ALttP sprite.
Wario's pretty understandable to not have a real alt since he has to costumes already, but it'd be nice to see his safari hat or viking helmet somewhere.
Miss Pacman is an obvious missed opportunity but I've heard its because of a messy rights situation.
Would be cool if they could throw an eyepatch on Snake's jungle camo alt as a BB reference.
Robot Ness would be cool but I doubt they'd put in such a lategame spoiler kind of costume if its not something iconic.

Here’s what I was thinking, based on the arts Malos uses in game plus some creative liberties as Sakurai likes to do

>Monado Cyclone
Makes opponents lighter and easier to launch.

>Monado Jail
Makes enemies heavier and reduces movement speed+reduces jump height

>Monado Armor
Buffs Malos, acts like Monado Shield but instead of increasing shield health, it give Malos super armor and increases his parry window

>Monado Eater
Malos hits do poison damage like Joker’s Eiha, does slightly more poison damage the lower your opponents percentage is.

>Monado Buster
Works exactly like Shulk’s Monado Buster

>Striker edge
Replaces backslash. Does increased damage to shields

All other specials remain the same.

I was thinking that he’d be heavier and slower than Shulk, but hits much harder. A Ganondorf-like character with the Monado’s gigantic hit boxes would be awesome and the seething it would create would be glorious.

I could see her being stronger but not as good in the air, and maybe replacing the side special with an egg shoot or fireball, that would be plenty to justify her inclusion to me.

I don’t hate it, but it’s definitely a shitty choice to replace Black Yoshi with it. I probably wouldn’t mind it too much if the texture weren’t so shitty and the fuzziness/plushness was more noticeable. Yeah, Yarn Yoshi would’ve also been a better choice.

I'm not even a fan of the Yoshi games, it just seems baffling that they would choose such a barely noticable texture to use.

Birdo might be more of a semiclone to Yoshi like how Luigi is to Mario. She spits eggs instead of throwing them and I don’t think we’ve ever seen her actually flutter jump.

They’re not the best games (outside of Yoshi’s Island and Wooly World), but I think some of them are decent at least. Also, they wanted to promote Crafted World before its release date which is understandable and I don’t mind. However, I think a new stage like they did with Wooly World in Sm4sh would’ve been a better advertisement than a new alt.

I've played at least part way through all of them out of nostalgia for Story which is still the only one I like, including Island. Guess I've just got shit taste.

I'm pretty happy with Plant's moveset, but it could've been really cool to have a move where he throws a couple of these on the ground.

If it makes you feel better, I like Yoshi’s Story, too, just wish it was longer. And I think the general consensus is that the game is just not bad, but not great either and in comparison to other Yoshi games that isn’t Yoshi’s Island and Woolly World, Yoshi’s Story is the better one.
Glad Nintendo haven’t forgotten them.

She's prominent enough to justify being a full on newcomer and Diddy's moveset has little in common with Dixie's gimmicks. She should be grappling with her ponytail and have a ton of cool aerial abilities, not a bubblegum popgun and cartwheels.

I agree with you, but Sakurai missed a golden opportunity to add her last game and this game too. Hell, he could have not added Chrom or Corrin and we could have had Dixie and another echo. It's either the echo or nothing and I hate saying shit like that.
