I would never consciously give Nintendo my money so I immediately hacked my pawn shop used Switch.

god given right, you buy the hardware you should be able to do literally anything you want with it

its great. id never buy these games, but for free they're great pickups. loving dragon quest builders 2 and into the breach on the switch

It's good since it allows players to play games they wouldn't have paid for and gives more life to a console after it is abandoned by the developers.
Some games are very rare and it is just better to pirate.
If you can only get it used there is no real difference to pirate it and spending money and newer titles.

feels good. was a pain in the ass though

Console homebrew and modding is great, unlocks more potential than the shitty locked down default OS
Indifferent towards piracy, I just don't play games anymore unless I really want them - there's too much 5/10 garbage out there

I don't have a problem with it but ideally I think it should come around halfway through a console's life because super early piracy on something that already isn't doing well enough to bear it is how you end up with a Dreamcast or PSP situation.

Gimme a guide please.

's cool

Piracy is a soulless void.

I remember way back playing SNES as kid, every new game was exciting.

And one of my friends bought a Super Magicom (Google it) and we suddenly had every game imaginable.

But something felt wrong. We would put games on and play for 5 minutes and then get bored and swap it out for the next. Everything felt bland and boring. Everything felt soulless. Nothing excited us. It all just felt hollow.

Piracy is a slippery slope. And most of the most jaded and cynical fucks in gaming are pirates.

if only it was that simple....

heres a starting point

If your new and you start googling you gonna unfortunately gonna end up reading a reddit OP that breaks it down a lot simplier. Just get the info and links and move on.

Hack em if you got em
The only reason I haven't hacked my Switch is because I still play games that utilize online.
But once they release an upgrade you can bet your ass I'm hacking my launch model.

I've been hacking my consoles and messing with homebrew since I was a little kid. It was braindead easy back then to hack the wii. When I was 11 years old, I did the letterbomb hack for the wii in like 5 minutes. That was my first introduction to homebrewing, and it got me really into emulation. From then on I made it my mission to hack everything I could. Even my shitty ass sansa fuze mp3 player I flashed a custom firmware to run doom. Nowadays it's way less retard proof to hack consoles. I remember the 3DS hacking scene was a clusterfuck for a long time. Switch hacking isn't that hard anymore especially if you have a jig, but gone are the drag and drop days of hacking. Also I hate how a lot of homebrew scenes are full of drama, the switch and 3DS scenes being the prime ones.
the upgraded switch with the longer battery life is already out in australia. If you do some australian amazon account shenanigans I'm sure you could probably scoop one.

You can go online with your bought games and still have a hacked switch using EmuNAND.

Sounds more like an abundance problem. Imagine having every game ever made at your fingertips. You'd probably just stare at the ceiling or go on Yea Forums.

I don't care about the upgraded battery life model enough to buy it, they'll have to release a hardware upgrade for me to bite.

Fine but don't spam it or use it to shitpost like those sonyfags.

The way I see it is like this. If you aren't helping support companies that make good games you won't get good games in the future. However, I'm not expecting people to buy 15 games a year because that would cost a ridiculous amount of money. As long as you are legitimately paying for at least 2-3 games a year I think it's fine if you pirate because you are paying your share so to speak. If you have some source of income and you buy nothing while pirating you're a scumbag leech.

I honestly just want android on my switch so I can use my switch as an ebook reader.

It's stealing
