Literally just finished the final boss last night. Shit was easier than I remembered. Roughest gem out of the DS games, but a gem nonetheless. Can't wait to play the sequel, I remember that one was really good.

Champions - Yes, its battles/gameplay are way better than the original, and its story is on-par and just as campy and fun.
Frontier - Don't touch it, it is genuinely awful. They took away everything good about the franchise and it barely resembles the originals.

Also, you can transfer fossil rocks forward into FFC via the cannon in FF1 iirc, if you had a particular vivosaur you wanted to use.
