nice filters
faggot
yes, the dev who made that game is a faggot, but he is cool about it.
How did this "age" like milk? You're implying that when the game was new this art was good, but now it's bad?
ITT: OP is a faggot
DKC, Super Mario RPG, Golden Sun may be good games but fanboyism doesn't erase the fact that they're ugly as sin.
Probably a Sonic fan who thinks he can project that shit to another game

Not sure what to tell you, but no we're not. You could have checked to post numbers at the bottom.
DKC games look gorgeous on a CRT.
Play them on an emulator or modern TV and they'll look like shit.
you're retarded, these games still look cool as fuck

i'd love to know more about this game's development
>OP gets BTFO so hard last thread he made a new one
are there any CRT filters that actually do a good job emulating making the sprites look better like this?
i agree on the first game, but the second one made the levels atmosphere timeless, anyone can enjoy DKC2
i actually think the first game has cooler color/weather effects
Not unless they purposefully emulate common CRT defects like bad convergence or bloom to mask the details. The reason sprites look better on CRTs is because CRT images are arranged along dynamic phosphor dot triads, which adapt to various resolutions and smooth images much better than fixed pixel displays. My comparisons are outdated and taken with a shit camera but you can still see the difference.
You see, the body will eventually rot. But the SOUL is eternal.
fair, the only bad DK game was DKC3
if I were to want to buy a CRT, what should I be looking for in one? is there a guide?
Yeah, anything but a fucking flat screen.
The CRT general on /vr/ has a guide to CRT hunting but I don't know how up to date it is. Honestly, what you should be looking for comes down to your personal preferences.
-What games/systems you plan to play on it
-What size suits you best (these things get heavy at 27"+)
-Whether or not you like the look of thick scanlines (expensive professional monitors with a higher TVL count offer more visible scanlines as a rule)
-If you like the dithering effect of low quality composite enough to stomach dot crawl, or if you want a sharper more high quality image via s-video and RGB
Among other factors. Whatever you decide on, it can't hurt for you to check your local listings on craigslist or facebook marketplace and see what turns up. People from the thread on /vr/ will usually be able to advise you on any set you're not sure about
If I wanted to get a higher quality image when playing my Dreamcast on a HDTV what would be the best option?
