Anyone else have tracks that they shamelessly avoid playing online? If wumpa time is active, I straight up leave the lobby if the others vote for Crash Cove, Coco Park, Dingo Canyon, Inferno Island or Jungle Boogie. These tracks are a complete fucking mess online every single time, nothing but garbage power ups from start to finish with essentially no real way to escape from the item hell. I just decided to take a couple of casual online races for fun, first race is on Coco Park and I immediately failed to get podium for the first time in like two weeks or so. No matter who I'm playing against I'm essentially guaranteed to get podium on any track except the aforementioned five. In those tracks it always feels like a pure fucking dice roll. Sometimes I win, sometimes I get 5th place but nevertheless it always feels like my placement has nothing to do with actual skill and it's just a matter of who gets fucked the most and the least. These tracks are both anti-fun and anti-skill, plain and simple. Every single time I play them the game reminds me of this and I end up hating them more than I already do.

You were guaranteed to get Coco Park because it was above Tiny Arena and they got the same amount of votes. Deep Sea Driving is one of my favourite CNK maps but Hot Air Skyway is way more satisfying to USF.

N. Gin Labs is currently fucked because of the skip, no reason to play it online. Papu's Pyramid is a complete fucking item spam mess and one of the most annoying tracks to play online. I'll give you Hot Air Skyway tho, easily one of the best tracks in the game.

Microtransactions do not mean you can't get all the content, they're not even in the game yet.
The Pit Stop is where you unlock stuff, but there's only certain things that are available there which rotate in and out on a daily basis. It's all cosmetics, the characters themselves are quite cheap and you can unlock them easily, if you want all the cosmetics though it would cost a shit ton.
You can get 102% in Adventure mode though

- There's a daily rotation of random items and characters in the Pit Stop for in-game currency
- You have to be connected to the internet to receive in-game currency, and you have to shell out more money for matchmaking access to get daily/weekend bonuses.
- Grand Prix exclusive stuff is locked behind Nitro Points and limited-time Pit Stop access, and Beenox has been deliberately vague about where they go after each Grand Prix ends since before release
- Champion Karts are available for those that get in the top 5% of either matchmaking leaderboards or nitro leaderboards
- We got leaks showing that leaderboards will become pay-to-win because wumpa coins will be able to be bought for real money and nitro points will be able to be bought with wumpa coins

If you want to keep up with early players but don't want to shell out actual cash, just play the game normally and use pic related in your free time.

If TF2 has taught me anything, the more bucks you're willing to shill into the game, the more likely that you are going to become invested in it and will incidentally "get good" so those cosmetics don't just become a personal aftertaste.
Sure, anybody with a Gibus, Pyrovision Goggles and Mercenary badge can stomp, but how many people do you see rolling around with the absolute minimum in cosmetics?
Maybe not the case with CTR, but having a half-decent looking cosmetic build on TF2 is like a peacock showing its stuff to get a mate - or in TF2's case, a pocket medic.

Maybe I went off on a tangent, but the TL;DR is that people with cosmetics are likely to be more dedicated players by proxy of investment into the game than you are.

Oh I love the game when I'm playing offline. I weirdly enjoy all the little challenges to get Nitro bonus, it reminds me of Mario Kart DS' mission mode. There, you actually get rewarded too and it's entirely on you how good or bad you do to get the nitro. I'm decent enough at the game to 101% the adventure mode on medium, so it's not like I hate the game or anything. It's just the coins are so convoluted and greedy, and the looming option of being able to buy coins with real money is just downright insulting. Prior to this, I legit would've said "I'd put down another 20 dollars for a good DLC expansion pack," but paying money -just- for coins? Fuck that.

There seems to be a bug on the Switch Version (don't know about the rest) where you'll get kicked back to the main menu for different reasons.
I've found that entering online, quitting and getting back in solves problems regarding entering friends' lobbies. Doing the airplane exploit might result in letting you in a lobby, but you won't find anyone, after quitting online you won't be able to enter. Only fix is close and reopen the game.

Mostly black though.
The black is on the side of the paint job and not a secondary color and does not work at all with her motorsport skin.
This bothered during the last GP because her paint just doesn't match her clearly green and purple color scheme.

I got a sliver before hitting Gold. Haven't done today's dailies yet, and I tried doing the reverse the final lap thing but it didn't work when I did it. Not sure if it was because I was hit or because I used the reverse camera the whole way through.

I didn't get last Gp reverse lap or this one. I know (now) if you get hit it doesn't count. Probably wouldn't hurt to not use rear view either but I can't say for certain.

Daily Challenges are so weak that I'm waiting for the weekly challenges to reset.
All daily and quick challenges barely push your bar in Gold tier.
