make a it a 3d platformer
I make a Castlevania game.
Step 1:
I release all GBA Castlevania games AND SOTN in a single package, for any platform but my aim is to push it as a Switch money making package.
Step 2:
I use the money to make a new, massive metroidvania that is entirely 2D and sprite based.
I hire some of the best artists on the market to accomplish this, use as much funding as i possibly can to make sure it looks stunning
Step 3:
After the game has sold trillians, i hire yakuza to kidnap Iga.
I make them tie him to a chair, blindfolded, and i shit directly in his open mouth.
As i'm shitting inside him, one of the hired yakuzas chops his head clean off.
Step 4:
Sit and back and do nothing with the IP for the next 20 years.
Give us the Julius game.
Castlevania 1999, either a Portrait of Ruin-style metroidvania with a Vampire Killer that levels up as Julius does or the biggest and best classicvania yet
Ah, a man of taste.
Dark Souls with a whip set in Dracula's Castle with lots of B-Movie monster enemies.
I would revitalise the series and make Konami very, very rich.
Kill myself
>Dark Souls with a whip
but castlevania 64 is shit
This but add a lot platforming too. It should be tough as hell.
I'd give ideas, but it would just be Ritual of the Night.
What happened to those 3D games that came out a couple years ago?
Remake of AoS in the style of Uncharted
That was nothing like Dark Souls.
You knew exactly what I meant, yet you still felt the need to post a wojak meme. Where did your life go so so wrong...
>slow
>clunky
>shitty level design
>with 64 tier graphics
castlevania 64 is basicaly a dark souls game
Kek
I agree that is was a proto-Dark Souls 2, maybe
Make a new Classicvania, none of this Metroidvania garbage
classicvania with cute girls
>dark souls with a whip
grab Castlevania Judgement´s story, and make it a real castlevania game, with lots of belmonts to choose.
Judgement is fucking trash btw.
>hurr Dark Souls already has a whip
No shit. Stop taking things so literally
Disgusting, Castlevania's always been about the cute boys.
Plus there's probably already a dozen clones out there with big titty anime girls
Plebs think Dark Souls' clunky movement is comparable to Classicvanias' slower pace.
I never mentioned DS already had a whip
If it's Classicvania basically just copy Rondo.
If it's Metroidvania make it like Portrait of Ruin with a dual-character gimmick, but with a more fleshed out non-segmented world.
you play as jesus
Which part did you get stuck on?
Pretty sure that kind of thing only happens at 60 FPS, because the PC port is garbage and DSfix is a bandaid.
i have a dark souls 1 too dont worry
You'll play as the chainsaw wielding Sepia Belmont.
>castlevania 64
>slow and clunky
the jump was slow but not much else was. When you attacked, it was quick responsive and tended to home. The core issues with 64 was the camera, and level design that made that slow jump nightmareish like Reinhardt stage 6. Carrie is a fucking breeze though.
>set in the 1930s
>Heavily inspired by the universal monster movies
>Draculas castle appears as a movie backlot
>Each stage has a boss based on old school horror (Mummy, Wolfman, Frankenstein, etc)
>Super Castlevania 4 gameplay
>Contract Arksys or Vanillaware to do the graphics
>Arsenal has your traditional powerups, your whip, and a silver bullet shotgun
Sounds fucking gay
Another game in the style of CotM because CotM a fukken BEST
Remake Walter's game.
I would make a lawsuit for plagiarism against IGA and Bloodstained. Throw money into it until IGA is forced to remove it from every single store.
Then I'll do nothing.
I second this.
I'd laugh every second of it, too.
I'd probably put all the copies in multiple storage sites and film myself ejactulating all over the recalled copies, then post the vids all over Yea Forums.
I put most of the money in getting iga and the artist/composer from the previous games.
and done
There wasn't really much platforming in the original Castlevanias.
That's actually a good question: which Castlevania game has the heaviest emphasis on platforming. 3? 4?
> make another game in the style of CotM
so an igavania?
Make whatever the hell I want then slap Castlevania in the title.
4 because of the swinging with your whip and shit
4
Love the card system. One of the combinations just makes a fucking gun
Castlevania 3-2, DeNasty's Revenge.
That one isn't like most "Igavanias" though. Way more difficult
Sequel to Lords of Shadow 1 and ignore the 3ds game and the second game.
CoTM is the easiest game in the igvania style because you can just unlock all cards from the start
2D sidescroller
The whip can be used as a grapple hook; it functions a bit like Bionic Commando but with a bit of springiness to it. It wraps around terrain and momentum is conserved. It can be used on any surface in the game.
No RPG elements whatsoever.
You explore a big villa/castle/what-have-you collecting unique abilities that let you explore.
Totally non-linear.
Enemies actually have intelligent AIs, as in they don't stand in place waiting to be attacked-- they cower behind cover, they flee when they can't win, they dynamically ambush you when you try to backtrack, etc
Never used the cards when I played it, you may be right
take all my money rn
as 4 me, just copy bloodstained with some added belmonts, fluid 2D cartoonish art, unlockable male character
I make the map 4x larger than the largest Castlevania map while still maintaining good interconnectivity and sense of progression, make sure the art direction is on point, make sure the music is excellent, make sure the enemy and boss roster are enormous and varied, and make sure there's a fucking shitload of equipment, spells, items, etc to allow for tons of build variety and replayability
outside of aria I think they're all pretty challenging, circle is probably the hardest though.
I wish 90% of the combinations weren't useless, the gun's cool but it does fuck all for damage
Why I hire the artist for death note and make a fighting game with motion controls of course
He would still have the last laugh because he managed to make games on a shoestring budget and turn a profit while you literally need to throw millions upon millions and prostitute the franchise everywhere to obtain the same result.
If the game manages to sell as much and to be as solid as his games, of course.
SotN was a piece of piss imo
>Set Uranus card
>Kill everything onscreen with jpg spam
>difficult
The trilogy of sorrow.
Aria and dawn of sorrow all with new spirites and artwork maybe some more weapons enemies.
Then after you complete both you unlock prequel Julius game killing the original dracula with new spirites and maybe different endings and add a speed run mode.
They already made the best modern CV.
This.
To even compare the two is heresy.
Apologize, c*mbrain.
I haven't touched that game since it came out, I remember it just being a God of War clone
Its actually really good desu. Second game is crap though.
youtu.be
The ending is pretty cool and I don't even mean the post credits ending. The regular ending is not your typical video game happy ending type thing.
The lawsuit doesn't even need to be successful; you just keep sending lawyer after lawyer after lawyer until the other side can't allow itself to spend more money on its defense.
Put out a new Simon or Richter game. Low budget but not ugly.
Castlemania? Is that anything like Trackmania?
Lords of Shadow 2 happened.
Sounds fucking cool, a new game should return to the series’ Western roots.
>Invisible Man boss fight where he loses more and more bandages as you damage him
>Bride and Monster dual boss fight
Retards like you think Souls' deliberate movement is clunky because they're too stupid to use lighter equipment.
Why not both?
I guess that depends on what you view as being the biggest castle. SoTN reigns supreme at 1,890 rooms, but half of that is (of course) from the inverted castle. PoR comes in second at 1,846 though the last 4 portraits just reuse the first 4's layouts. Ecclesia's third with 1,335 but that's counting everything and not -just- the Castle itself. I get the sentiment, though. I think maybe 2x SoTN's size without re-using rooms would already be fantastic, but anymore would probably start to strain itself a bit. I'm not against the 'reusing a previous room/area with a twist', personally, but that might not sit well with most folks.
>There wasn't really much platforming in the original Castlevanias.
Oh yes, yes there fucking was, especially in the clock towers. I suggest you don't discuss games you have never played.
Then they killed it with a horrible sequel.
>There wasn't really much platforming in the original Castlevanias.
the combos are only as useless as you find them unfun
>t martial arts and draw sword all damn day
No there wasn't. Compared to most games called "platformers", there was very little. 3 is an exception maybe, especially with the clock level you mentioned.
Two games in one: Classic and Castle Adventure
Classic adventure is based on classicvania and Castle Adventure is based on igavania
Same setting, two playable characters, two stories that become one.
There wasn't. The jumping was laboured for that reason. That's not to say you weren't required to jump at points, but not so much that you could call it a true "platformer".
>No there wasn't.
Stop. Go play the first few games. Get the help you need. I know you're lonely and need attention, this isn't the right way to go about that.
>Symphony of the Night direct sequel 3D - Full blown metroidvania game where Alucard fights a eastern european vampire who's a day walker (Forgot the specific folklore) and wants Dracula's power
>Order of Ecclesia 2 - 2D sequel where Shanoa is living her life as a nun and cult bullshit ensues. Basically more of the original but bigger in scope
>1999: Demon Castle Wars game - Linear action 3D game in the venins of DMC where we see a young spunky Julius defeating Dracula for good with the help of Weeaboo Alucard and Weeaboo Belmont
>Classicvania made by M2 that's like Adventure Rebirth but a completely original game because it's a fucking amazing Castlevania game
Basically a 2D and 3D game for both Metroidvania and Classicvania. Do a few originals and a few sequels and shelf the fucking series for good. Also re-release every single game that wasn't already.
None of this will ever happen.
Make a sequel to bloodlines with rondo style level design.
Castlevania Judgement 2 with a 500 million US$ budget. It would bankrupt Konami and force them to sell all their IPs.
>a true "platformer".
Maybe if you never went past the first level. Why do you insist on posting bullshit? Your confusion would be cleared instantly by completing a game or two.
Replay those games and tell me they're platformers in the the traditional sense of the term (i.e. games that entirely revolve around jumping)
RACING GAME
DIG THROUGH THE DITCHES
AND BURN THROUGH THE WITCHES
I SLAM IN THE BACK OF MY
DRAGULAAAAAAA
Release Harmony of Despair on PC and add new characters and stages from Castlevania and other Konami games. King me.
They're very much platformers, especially when you have to time your jumps and avoid getting knocked out of stages constantly by rotating platforms and enemies. You're completely wrong and need to shut the fuck up already.
Yes, games where the central mechanic is jumping, and everything revolves around it.
I'm sorry but you need to replay the original Castlevania if you think that game was heavily focused around platforming.
I'd hire iga and give him all the money he needs and a little more
Is Sonic a platformer?
Only the classic ones are good so just remaster those in hd
>inb4 Sotn is actually good
It is, you need to complete that game and then mouth off about your retarded opinion. Also you need to get some friends, or people to talk to.
youtu.be
Just as many hazards are resolved through whipping or using special items. The actual jumping is difficult and deliberate.
SotN and RotN are still easier than CotM with card glitch.
play Touhou Luna Nights, it's exactly what you're looking for
Yeah because that's a game that revolves around jumping
You need to have a wank, you're very frustrated about simple categorisations of video games.
I just felt like after Bloodstained's castle being advertised as "the biggest Iga castle yet" it didn't really feel like it lived up to that, I know it is physically bigger but for some reason it feels way smaller than SotN's
That doesn't preclude it from being a platforner. See: every other platformer ever made, including super mario bros. Do you feel like you've gotten enough attention for the day?
CoTM is piss easy once you unlock the double jump
Then your ideas suck
Castlevania thread? I've been playing through Curse of Darkness recently and it's pretty fucking good compared to Lament of Innocence before it. Currently almost done with Infinite Corridor, then it's clearing the other maps and getting all IDs completed, fighting Legion and his true form, then Dracula's Castle and clearing all the crafting lists.
What Castlevanias are you guys playing right now, Yea Forums?
Sekiro with whip
SotN and RotN are piss easy before you unlock double jump.
>post video gameplay
>g-go have a wank you're mad lul
Amazing argument. I think you've gotten enough unwarranted attention for a day.
>replayed Circle of the Moon
>it actually was worse than I remembered
And hard too, closer to the end of the game every enemy is basically a miniboss with a wall of hp and insane damage. Also fuck Dracula's final form and his meteors, basically the only way to beat him is to cheese it with the summon card invulnerability period.
Still not kusoge-tier like HoD, though.
>stops for no reason at all
>slowly walk foward
shitty cherrypick
