Starsector

Been having a lot of fun with the game so far.
What are some must have mods?

the guy who made this game is an SJW and he surrounds himself with SJW modder friends that denounce anyone who makes them upset and gets their keys blacklisted

what?

>search every yellow star I can find for a decent planet
>every one of them is either shit or subpar so keep looking
>finally find a system with 3 habitable planets that all complement each other
>it's swarming with robots and has a hostile station
what other systems have a higher chance at planets with life on them?

>glorified cheque balancing game

Any and all have a *chance* to user, don't worry about having multiple colonies per system, thats a luxury, colonize any and all you can that is class 4 or above.

What the fuck are you on about.

Your gonna have to spoonfeed me dude I am not going into the forums for this shit

That's EVE online bro.

several mod creators were banned from the forums and their mods deleted then their keys blacklisted simply because forum mods didn't like them

If I remember my colonies from old saves then red stars have habitable worlds.

>spend hours barely scraping by doing trade contracts and "helping" Hegemony patrols deal with pirates
>every time I get a fleet of few destroyers I get my shit kicked in by pirates with 4 atlases
>say fuck it, buy the cheapest shit on the black market
>like a shuttle, a freighter and a fuel tanker
>go do a survey+derelict mission
>sneak around robots using my 200 IQ
>come back with 2.5 million credits in rare blueprints and cores
Nice balanced game you got there.

!!!70 CREDITS!!! FUCK

Haven't played it. Have played this. It sucks.

Just scrap them, you get more from the resources than you do for selling the thing.

well, not everyone have 200iq, user. the game is balanced for normal people.

>4 (D) mods
>mothballed
They're paying for scrap metal at this point

Ignore this stormnigger. He’s been angry since the beginning of July over some forum drama that he sexually obsesses over and shakes with incompetent rage when the thread is not EXCLUSIVELY talking about it. He’s here for the outrage instead of playing games.

By several he means 2:
One open neo nazi (his words).
One that started to modify every other mods with his shit.
That's it.

Scrapping is a nontrivial source of heavy machinery. You can basically never buy another one as long as you salvage and scuttle the trash ships.

Very autistic I can see why this is a problem

Hopefully the influx of people like us, whom have greasy gamer cock and balls, can start shitting up mods and forums until something good happens.

We've done it before we can do it again I'm sure, I know I'll go complain and get banned, what are they gonna do? blacklist seths CDkey? God I hope so the british cunt hasnt done my fucking HOI4 video yet

I've been fucked again goddamnit

Don’t samefag. Literally no one here but (You) cares about this dumb shit.

Am I the only one that tried Galatia Complete? I don't know if I saved the latest version but it doesn't look like its coming back.

is this too many? too few?

Attached: mods.jpg (202x610, 50K)

The fuck off to /vg/ mod is a great start.

You're sad.

can your fleet kill it Yea Forums?

>Some faggot fucking pirate chases me around a system until he corners me
>He's faster so I can't get away and the shitty salvage ships I have can't match up to him
Fuck everything.

Attached: 1325399826212.gif (150x113, 646K)

Is Ox worth it?

this nigga didn't unlock transverse jump

I have it. I recently picked up some salvage ships and I can't use it.

JUST

Attached: file.png (1920x1080, 950K)

How do I bring the pirates to like me? Is there even a benifit of them liking me, like the won't attack me out of nowhere with their huge fleets?
does solving their goods shortage on the open market give you influence on them or is that just a waste of credits?

>oh ya’ll in trouble now fuccboi

Does weapon and ship pack add interesting stuff, or just clutter that's only numerically different from vanilla? I kinda like how in the base game I don't have to autistically calculate DPS/armor values because every type of slot has only 1 of each weapon type.

Are there mods that are must haves or should I stick with vanilla until I git gud?

>start a desperate battle with every ship at low combat readiness
>half of my fleet blows up before we even meet the enemy in battle

Attached: yuuko.gif (294x233, 459K)

This game isn't designed with permadeath in mind. If you get jumped, accept that your shitty low-cost fleet is gone and replace it with something equally cheap and shitty. You keep your money when you evac.

Pump that rep and their fleets won’t attack you.
Solving shortages should give you a rep increase, but shortages almost always happen in conjunction with trade missions which pays a lot more.

ship/weapon pack is the most vanilla mod out there, it bases the ships and weapons on the vanilla ones and complements them

If you got the resources to spare, yes. Also, they stack.
Personally I like the Diable Avionics version, it comes with Salvage Gantry

That doesn't really answer my question. Content can be pointless even when it's well balanced. I don't want to choose between vanilla LMG and mod LMG when both are small ballistic PD and only differ in numbers, it's not really a fun or meaningful choice.

Nexerelin, ship weapon pack, arsenal expansion, and underworld are all pretty much just vanilla +
also leading pip if you're driving FAST

Who gives a shit. I play videogames for fun, not to support or disavow some strangers ideology. Fuck it, I could care less. If politicization gets in the way of the game being fun, I wont buy or play it, in the same way I wouldnt play a game because of too many bugs or bad gameplay.

Thanks

when I sail complement them is that already takes into account vanilla ones, it’s more o less what you asked for

for example, you get a large slot flak cannon, ships covering unfilled roles in factions and making them more unique. is not something vanilla does

Attached: A3BAC2CE-6774-40B4-A379-491BFAF9A2C7.png (612x720, 558K)

Numbers do matter in this game because of how damage mechanic works. But you’re not gonna see dumb things like “vanilla vulcan PD or this slightly changed mod vulcan PD” from the Ship/Weapon pack.

>leaving civilizaiton behind and exploring the stars for years and years at a time, only returning to profit off of the stuff you scavenged
this game is 2comfy

Attached: 1560718190938.png (342x342, 165K)

Don’t respond to the sexually repressed cripple. He gets SJW-triggered when the entire thread isn’t outraged by some dumb shit he’s picketing. It’s like watching a danger hair virtue signaling loudly, but more annoying. At least they don’t post on Yea Forums.

Ok, sounds pretty good then. Can I enable mods mid-playthrough, or do I need to start a new game?

this is your local modding scene gang leader, say something nice about him!

Attached: meso.jpg (1709x392, 126K)

Stop playing mod police and update your own fucking mods Mesotronik. I know you lurk here.

Attached: sheevlook.jpg (441x401, 21K)

I lose the metric fucking asston of supplies and blueprints I had you fucking nigger.

>basic loadout doesn't use any of its mounts
Any mid-game fleet or higher could kill it easily

>Sseth make a Starsector video
>"haha, guys, i'm having so much fun with this game xD, i definitely don't follow e-celebs like a sheep"

XD dude, fuck you.

Attached: 1564046787773.jpg (393x462, 58K)

I just rented a “certified AI-free” prostitute from Tri-Tach. What am I in for?

So how hard is this game to get into? Grand strat levels of bullfuckery?

Will I need the wiki to serve as a tutorial?

>do some exploration shit that sends me to the edge of the map
>find a shit ton of fucking blueprints, including one for onslaught-class

holy shit, did I fuck up learning all of them or was selling all that shit a better decision ?

Attached: Capture.jpg (1348x468, 77K)

Get faster ships next time dummy.

enable should be easy. don’t expect results until a month or two passes tho

Duly noted. The game is still good.

You’re just spamming this shit every fucking thread. Get a job.

>bunch of tiny recon fleets constantly sending out active sensor
Is it always this impossible to smuggle into blackrock or just because there's a massive shortage?

Attached: screenshot023.png (1920x1080, 1M)

It's a mildly more complicated Space Rangers.

I bought Starsector 6 years ago. Fuck off nigger, i'm glad this game is getting well deserved recognition.

Maybe I'll look into moddi- Oh wait they do it for free

Is it possible to swap all of the weapon slots on my hammerhead into missile slots?

the scrap metal is worth more than that

honestly the amount you can sell a ship for is just stupid fucking low in general

>Faster salvage

t. newfag

>Starsector Nexus page
Oh god this is exactly what I was hoping for. The game going 'mainstream' means that more modders will step in and make stuff for it.

Learning the BPs is for when you start making colonies, so if you didnt plan on creating any colonies at all then yea, learning them was a bad idea

a drone tender can get to 12 burn level with hullmods and no skills

This is every mod scene. Theres always one of these faggots complaining about stolen credit or unapproved modifications to mods.

So black market = profit, open market = rep?

hopefully some of them will revive the dozens of unupdated mods and sprites that are still out there

Except in this case, most of the modders bend the knee to this faggot. The dev in turn bends his knee to the majority of modders due to how his development cycle works. If you don't comply or they just plain don't like you, then the dev himself will shut down your mod's thread.

Yeah thanks user I'm going to bring nothing but 20 goddamn drone tenders in my long-distance salvaging fleet.

can i store things in the abandoned stations without them getting stolen? do i have to pay upkeep for my crew? and supplies for ships?

In this case it was someone else injecting loli crap into his mod.

Don’t respond to him. He’s a brain-damaged /pol/ transplant who doesn’t even play this game. He’s only here to virtue signal like a SJW and win stormnigger points for some sort of validation.

You sound personally slighted.

unironically do it, you just need a ship that can carry the stuff and you are good to go

Which of the starbase designs you can construct at your colonies is the best?

Attached: 1564119285422.jpg (1052x1052, 654K)

I do plan on starting a colony, but I'm still early in the game and I don't know what I'm doing

Assuming I already surveyed a good planet, when should I start a colony ? (how much money do I need, fleet size, etc.)

Well, any control they had over the modding scene is now dead. There's a nexus page for mods, and if the game ever gets a steam release there will also mods through that. Their playerbase basically increased by one or two orders of magnitude, the current cliques won't be able to sustain themselves as masters of how people mod the game. Whether they've been trying to do that or not.

>implying this isn't a falseflag
you have a lot to learn about internet autism

Looks kind of dead for the most part. Seems to be just a mirror for mods already on the forums.
Yeah, but usually there's a moderator or admin that tends to step in and slap their shit before/when they get too big for their britches. At least most of the time anyway. The problem with this case is no one is willing or able to give Meso the backhand he rightfully deserves.

I personally don't care if a mod maker puts lolis or Nazis in a mod but I'd understand if the dev doesn't want that on his modding forum.

this game is just sid meiers pirates in space

Attached: apps.6414.63319347673002016.f998956e-0cfa-44a6-865f-3eff4daeecdd.jpg (1920x1080, 667K)

This thread is always nice when you’re asleep and not making a full time job out of your persecution complex.

When you've got a really good fleet and at least a million creds generally

vanilla: lowtech = hightech > midtech
mods: XLU > all

desu it's more likely just someone larping as a stormnigger

stormniggers are pretty rare and they mostly stick to stormfront, not even /pol/ has many of them

They have shit for holds, moron.

That's exactly why it was banned. Other portrait mods that all use more tasteful "internet sourced" material are still there.

What do the japs think of this game?

They've never even heard of it

They're too busy reading VNs and playing porn games to care

who gives a fuck

>Non-naked or pornographic cartoons
>Hurr ebil lolicons
He got banned because he integrated his mod with others 'without permission.'

then bring more hauling ships or be strong enough that you don’t need the speed, dummy

>Nexerelin
>Side with Tri
>Remnants are my greatest allies now

They'll get into it. Ignore the japophobic trannies.

I always had pretty good luck with orange

>dicking around in some core system
>wew that's a lot of debris wonder who is having war
>Suddenly giant redacted army
wat

Attached: 1562978989349.jpg (393x315, 35K)

Thanks, I guess I'll stick to smuggling shit until I get a decent low tech fleet and loads of dosh

What the fuck are you talking about? The portrait pack with all the loli pics is still up, while Oga's was taken down.

Except this one doesn't have a bugged main quest that forces you to rescue your sister time after time again, and your gigantic pirate fleet can change the nationality of big trade and population centers and create their own, not just change the flag of shitty remote outposts.
Fuck that dancing minigame too.

It's completely free storage as of now. Although I won't be surprised if they add some mechanics of your shit getting lost later.

>Dude just use magic when nobody wants to give you missions to raise your rep so you can't buy ships dude
Fuck off.

What the fuck are the redacted
Where the fuck do they come from I feel like they're encroaching around me everywhere I go they show up now. How do I stop this.

except its not a billion years old and aged very badly unless you played it at time of release.

with nex remnants invade
I hope they did it more often tho. only expedition that doesn’t lose that easily, and the only reason I need to defend my colony

please help

is setting up colonies as tedious as starting a kingdom in mount and blade?

Hey

thanks

It's nothing at all, don't mind them.
lead us to your homeworld

reminder that someone from Yea Forums made a nazi mod for Papers Please and the dev immediately shut down all modding capabilities.

It's pretty obvious what they are

> buying a few shit ships with burn level 9=> so you can haul shit fast
>magic
just make exploration contracts, literally free money, you just need one ship to get there

...and that's a good thing!

Sid meiers pirates is a fun game but they're hardly the same dude.

It would be more apt to describe it as hybrid of Sid Meiers Pirates and Mount and Blade Warband in space.

>you're not allowed to have fun because it makes me mad >:(
the state of Yea Forums newfags

Attached: 1515280400971.gif (250x180, 954K)

They don't seem to care. Meanwhile the Chinese are prolific modders, but just a few of them get translated.

Isn't this pretty much M&B in space?
I remember vaguely following the game years ago, but the reinvigorated discussion of it is making me actually want to buy it.

It used to be way, way worse than it is now.
It's pretty easy now. I think a colony is the best way to fund supply/fuel costs for a big fleet. You can just take supplies and fuel from the colony, they make a lot. You also get lots of credits per cycle.

That's pretty much what the game is, it even has the same absurd level of customization and free reign.

lmao what a pussy dev.

That's pretty much accurate, yeah.

The only thing I would say is different about it is the level of customization you do on your army. You can spend hours and hours formulating exactly what kind of fleet you want

What exploration contracts? They've only been handing out worthless bounties on pirates. You're expecting me to accept losing my entire fleet and all of my cargo, and starting with nothing and nowhere to buy ships. Fuck off.

>Install two 10 point missiles on my ship
>one volley overloads flux and second cracks open any ship
Gods I love rockets

In the previous version, this would happen to you like twice a (ingame) month

ancap triarch LARPers that are into fucking dolls with AI cores on them

>the space genre is so bad off that all we get are pie in the sky shit like scamcitizen, completely broken shit like x4 or 2d indie garbage like this

Look, quit being whiny because you suck at planning

>if it's 2d then it's bad

Nice self-portrait

>Reload a million times to get the exact perfect angle and finally manage to get back up to max speed and maneuver around him
Thank fucking god

Being a space nigger is suffering.

Attached: anal screaming.png (237x171, 38K)

I usually try to avoid smuggling to hegemony stations unless there's a huge profit margin, they always have shitloads of annoying patrols
not really much you can do if they're sending out constant sensor pulses, if you're really hellbent on selling your illegal goods I'd just sneak as close to the station as possible in the dark and the emergency burn and try to land on the station and offload your stuff before they can stop you, you'll still make a profit but they'll bitch at you after you leave the station for having your transponder off

the scan offers in the outer sector that give you 90k for basically showing up
>hurr durr muh fleet
go to corvus, leave your shit in the abandoned station, take a ship and outfit it with extra fuel tanks and speed
wait for contract of scan to show up, do it, repeat

there you go, free money so you can stop being a pirate cumdump. save up for an actual flagship and defend yourself next time you go scavenging

imagine being that retarded and bad taste, this game is great, its not perfect but its not broken and a game being 4x or 2d doesnt make it bad. enjoy trying to make a game this extensive or with the same level of depth in a fully 3d render, which often comes with a retarded caveat that it attempts to look realistic with heavy graphics

Transcendence is fun if you like this kind of game.

>Why are my shitty (d) salvage ships so slow?
>why are tankers so slow?
>why are garbage civilian ships so slow?
>why are enemy interceptors so fast?
>why am i so bad?
>why cant i navigate?
>why cant i use terrain?
>why do i cry so much?
>why cant i take my thumb out of my ass?
>why am i so bad at games?
>why do i cry even harder when people point out i am bad and they dont have any issueS?
>why am i so upset?

God is there something more hilarious than buying out marines from an independent world and invading them with their own troopers?

Games are designed to play themselves for the sake of people like this.

>tfw run out of fuel and there's no one around

youtube.com/watch?v=BNj2BXW852g

I wonder how the marines feel about being bought and sold like slave stock

Post great custom Starsector tracks:
youtube.com/watch?v=d-H4hwmM1qk

I'm guessing nobody gives a fuck since they have a salary just like crew and heroes. This truly is the ancap paradise.

>that [REDACTED] flagship with teleportation
jesus FUCKING christ

This happens irl and they're called mercenaries. It typically involves a contractual obligation rather than direct ownership but this is a simplified game and we're not trying to simulate the finer aspects of mercenary contracts when you really just need a widget to take over the planet thing.

I mean they're getting paid so probably pretty good. I wonder how they feel when I jettison them after my transport gets shot down and I have too many crewman

>tfw out of fuel in hyperspace and drifting towards a gravity well with a beacon next to it

Attached: warped.gif (450x245, 2.74M)

Bullshitting together a fleet out of a dumpster and throwing it at the pirate raiders hiding in the asteroid belt, putting every shit on ramming speed.
Then you throw your actual fleet at them and wipe them the fuck out.

Nice

>Ship/Weapon pack requires some unoptimized shader pack that makes the game ugly as fuck
Why are modders so fucking retarded? Aren't they supposed to be programmers and shit, who understand the value of decoupling?

go to the settings of the shaders pack, you can turn it off

>Why are modders so fucking retarded?
If they weren't retarded they would be actual programmers working on actual games or something. With that said, you can make adjustments to shaderlib.

Any good shit worth salvage near black holes?

The game should really fix the progression system.
>Be me in a wolf
>Do a survey for 99 000
>Buy and equip a carrier
>Kick some pirate bounties, raid dominion probes
>Always check debris after big battles for big ships
>Easily enough money to get a IV colony going and plans for capitals
Its smoothsailing from here. All I need to do is to play whackamole with monthly 100k bounties, upgrade my colony and its game over.

Attached: 1446917970768y.png (900x732, 193K)

Say what you will about the somalian shill, but at least you can tell from the Starsector video (and the others) that he knows the games he talks about backwards and forwards.

yes

Enjoy big space raider cock when the colony gets loaded.

shit i over expanded too fast and dont have the money to actually keep my fleet. cant go anywhere cause fuel and supply costs. are killing me.
is it possible to store ships somewhere? i dont want to sell em but i cant keep em.

Can I roleplay as Space Dandy in this game?

Attached: ggnore.png (341x156, 12K)

The NGO were as Naziistic as the Empire from Star Wars.

You can buy storage at markets. There's also a few places you can store shit for free. Check some of the abandoned stations in the core worlds.

You can bribe those you dumb cunt. Also, since they always take like 50 days to arrive there is plenty of time to simply beat two bounties and buy shit for 300k. Pirateraids aint that bad either

Attached: 1334744719082.jpg (1280x720, 151K)

I have only played this for one day. Now that I compare fleet/trade/diplomacy mechanics its pretty spot on comparison.

You need to park them in an abandoned station or make a colony.
Or get a bigger tanker and a bigger cargo ship to accomodate your fleet.

Is the Doom Cruiser any good?

Attached: 1564396650669.jpg (700x700, 99K)

What happened to those breaching weapons where you shot people to board enemy ships?

Should I?

Attached: screenshot003.png (1920x1080, 915K)

>meet [REDACTED] for the first time
>shitstomp their 2 ships
i don't know what i expected

They simply never existed in the first place

Now do the same in a red beacon system

you can make way more than that in one and a half years without becoming indebted to some asshole who you'll forget about.

400k is nothing so yes. You dont even have to pay it immediately, just sue that to build your colony.

>ally myself with faction
>wonder why they haven't eradicated this pirate station
>see if I can actually dock with it for shit and giggles
>you can't
>but the other options it gives

Never trust a pajeet

What a great deal!

Attached: le conspiring hands.jpg (208x195, 4K)

Don't do this it gives you a virus

Carriers make the game worse, debate me.

back in 0.9.0 the ridiculous 200 ship pirate raids made defending the colonies actually difficult, alex really went overboard with tonning it down

>be space marine wagecuck
>some rich fuck offers you a contract
>This signature hereby absolves the employer from the obligation of notifying the employee parties from the business sensitive data such as destination blah blah blah
>whatever, your gun rent is due next week so sign it
>pod-dropped out of the orbit the next day onto some godforsaken planet you aren’t told about
>you recognize your apartment in the distance
such is the sector life

Roughly a week ago I was shilling starsector in the dwarf fortress general because dwarf fortress was dying and starsector was the new obscure underground autist game. Now that starsector is mainstream I need to find another autist game to shill. Any suggestions?

Where's the Touhou portrait mod

>ruin your reputation across TT space
Literally free money.

The raids are honestly still annoying as fuck

I'd rather just see inconsequential battles I'm not warned about and which don't have any impact or do anything with 1/10th the number of major raids that are strong, require coordinated defense, and have an actual impact.

Underrail

Kinda fell of that wagon years ago, what has happened since it introduced an alternate, paid for storyline?

You can always just make it yourself, adding portraits is stupid easy

Underrail.

Honestly don't know, I haven't played it in a while either.

turn your transponder off and you can interact with it normally

>its the Trifags send a paragon and 3 carriers at you the episode
>Its the the 6 onslaughts the sequel
They still got fucked, funny how big the defensive fleets can get

the author is on steam, maybe you can get him to keep updating it

>funny how big the defensive fleets can get
You can also customize them. For my current save I have it to where my colonies' fleets are almost all small ships in hilariously large numbers. It makes for entertaining battles

I haven't been able to find any ports that sell ships, what the fuck. It's been like 2 hours.

>new colony with trash fleet, only has patrol hq and a mine
>pirate raid timer ticked down and it’s incoming in less than a week
>camp the purple anus
>hmmm, they should’ve been here by now...
>Pirate Raid: Failed! got btfo by system fleet
>oh shit there was another warp point in this system
>totally left my planet defenseless but the pirates still got fucked by a fleet helmed by a fucking Venture and other trash ships
i ain’t complaining, but damn

What the best destroyer size freighter? Gemini, Mule, Buffalo, Tarsis?

Is it possible to have a colony without having to babysit it? How much initial investment does it take?

i was allready thinking that i would try to update his mod myself if hes ded for good

most of my raids are “expected to be defeated on orbit”, so I don’t even show up.
pirate activity is annoying as shit tho

Last tier orbital station and last tier military base should be able to defend it from pretty much everything.

literally any port has the option, there’s a buy tab in your fleet menu

that's what I ended up doing since I had like 300k worth of cargo on me
>e burn to drop shit off after getting close enough
>immediately transverse jump out of there after selling
>they still know it was me and I lost rep
reee

The original Hearts of Iron, perhaps.

supply the luddic path, margins are insane and their patrols suck ass, they literally run away if you have at least two cruisers, so anonimity is a non-issue
ez 500k per run

How can I tell what hull class a ship is if it isn't listed? It's especially bad with mods
>well here we got a frigate
>here's a destroyer
>and here's ZenbuOppai-Class

Should I go in raw and start with one of the 1 ship options or go for the fleet starting options?

random core worlds yes or no

no

GUYS I killed some pirates for bounty money and now the pirate base wants to buy fuel from me, I accepted but they refuse to talk to me because I've been slaughtering their ships, it says they'll forget in about a month or so, how far away do I have to be before they start forgetting? Should I just fly away and stay in the same system collecting scrap?
>inb4 hurr turn your transponder off./go dark
i had my transponder off the entire time and going dark doesn't achieve anything

Mothball them nerd

>AI naturally steers towards the edge of the area
>where you can't do shit without bumping off the invisible wall all the time
>except if you're AI
epic

Well you obviously lose the crab commodity outside of the quartermaster event, but it can generate worlds where trade can net you profits very fast since you can get ludic path/pirate stations being constantly raided by everyone in the sector

they remember what your ships look like
I'd say as long as you're not in the system the month will pass fine
Honestly you could just do some trading or other bounties in that time rather than stay nearby, a month is a long time

you wait a month

mkay, but just out of curiosity at what point do they start forgetting?
"no"

It this thing good? First modded playthrough.

That's a quality market catalog

No idea, never seen it before. What mod is that from? But a battle-star is always good, it's a capital ship. Better than no capital ship.

Matriarch is a great capital carrier, worth keeping

not sure, 30 days from last incident involving their patrols or when the monthly income event happens

Ayyy senpai, you scored BIG! It's one of those ships where restoring them is a good idea.
try the various armor packages during refit, DR did an amazing work with those

Interstellar Imperium

Attached: that is you anon.png (422x254, 79K)

You might as well go for 1 ship cuz if you start with a faction you'll get paid every month. By the time you do one or two bounties you'll have more than enough money to build your own fleet with whatever you find.

Where did you even find it

>Blackrock and Imperial mod
>Found a fucking Ceasar class blueprints of a probe

What is a good loadout for the hammerhead

Assault chainguns
Railguns
Safety overrides
I'm sure you can work it out from there

I like giving it a Hypervelocity Driver and Heavy Mauler, both have the same range and with the extra shooty button you can tear shit apart from afar.

one of the best carriers in the game, period

Has anyone tried a pirate styled junker fleet before? A bunch of cheap (D) class frigates like hounds, cerberus, maybe mules, shit that's cheap and easy to replace and you just have an assload of them to overwhelm enemies. I've thought about trying to do it but always get distracted.

Treat it like an oversized lasher. A loadout that lets you get up close to something and maul it within seconds and then move on to the next kill.

I've been playing for the last 3 FUCKING HOURS
trying to MAKE SOME FUCKING MONEY by doing exploration and trading contracts but i keep getting ASS RAPED by fucking PIRATES with MASSIVE FLEETS comeing out of FUCKING NOWHERE and SHITTING ALL OVER ME

WHY THE FUCK CAN'T I MAKE ANY FUCKING MONEY
I JUST WANT A CRUISER SO I CAN FOCUS ON FUCKING COMBAT AND EXPLORATION AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Is piracy even worth it?

Is the Odyssey a good ship? I sold the blueprints for big money and because my Sunder, Condor and 5 Wolves can handle everything I can't run away from for now. Also when should I consider starting a colony?
Look for the Domain-era probe missions. All you have to do is get there and run the sensor package for EZ money.

The virgin bounty hunter slave
Vs
The CHAD drug smuggler magnate

stop being shit user.
>go for named bounties, you only need an entry level carrier, optional destroyer and few frigates.
>Save up for a colony
>???
>profit

only if you exploit disrupted marhkets

Depends on who you pirate. Sometimes even smaller smugglers have 100-200k drugs on em. Sure, you take a hit on the relationship but independents are just walking banks without any firepower anyway.

Learning rare BPs is fine, you won't find another onslaught BP probably, ships you probably won't use are fine to sell though, for example any 'combat freighter' that isn't a buffalo or mule variant is a hard pass and can be sold.

Should I replace tech-mining once it's tapped out(description text)?

Also is one mil base/system enough for AI fleets to defend the colonies in it, or is it too retarded and needs one on each planet?

Also fuck Hegemony niggers for coming around with an inspection that 'was expected to be defeated in orbit'(star fortress) but actually stole an Alpha and 2 Beta cores from my heavy industry planet.

go dark nigguh

You've awakened them. They can see you now. They are watching. Following. Waiting.

I'm commissioned with the Tri-Tachyon corp and I just encountered a small remnant ship just outside the core worlds. Unlike my other playthroughs where it simply attacked, it greeted me as a Tri-Tachyon member.
Is there any benefit to keeping remnant forces passive? Can the relationship be increased?

Do you keep your transponder off in hyperspace and go dark when approaching pirate/pather stations? Also careful with civilian grade hulls, they're easier to detect without Insulated Engine or Militarized Subsystem hullmods.

>working for a bunch of treasonous officers who were most likely responsible for disabling the gates
count that hegemoney while you still can, upstart. Persean League will destroy you.

I learned about this game from sseth and I'm having a ton of fun with it RIGHT NOW, and I dare you to stop me

so for a new player, what is a good idea to start with?

>Salvage
>Smuggling
>Trading
>Low level bounty hunting
>Exploration

and how do I get good at the choice?

>behold the man who played it risky and didn’t bent flux
>now he and his ship lights the sky, venting crewmen

Does anything bad actually happen if you use alpha cores on all your buildings?

Drop in without your transponder and do trades. This will usually net a few meagre points every time you do. I'm not sure, but I want to say big black market trades sometimes does too.

But the real rep-polisher is honestly taking their missions near their terrority. Pirates apparently need surveys too, and even better will buy 200-year-old-drugs without bitching!

AI cores have basically no drawbacks, just dont be retarded

>fleet full of carriers
>carriers full of sparks
>battle begins
>noise like a geiger counter in a nuclear reactor
>rolling thunder flashes as every enemy frigate turns white hot and explodes
>fighters and missiles burst into flames 1 nanosecond after launch
>disco strobelight laser cloud moves across the battlefield stripping the armor off everything in its path
>enemy ships try to flee, caught and shredded by interceptors with 3x their speed
>rest of the fleet mops up easily
There's something terribly satisfying about watching a ship try to turn its shield in all directions, like a man flailing at a cloud of wasps, as its hull rapidly drains away

Attached: 1442332813986.gif (1440x1080, 1.84M)

>he thinks the XIV battlegroup was responsible for disabling the gates
>not the Domain deciding it had enough of the Sector's shit and cutting it off permanently

focus on whatever missions you're getting
do trading and exploration along the way
>I got a bounty across the sector over there?
>let me check if there's any profitable trading runs to be made along the way
stuff like that
salvaging and exploration you can also do along the way
so really just focus on paid missions, never short on bounties

Don't get ships with low burn-levels if your fleet is weak. At the beginning you'll need to avoid the larger, slower fleets.
Keep sustained burn on. It greatly reduces maneuverability but makes a fleet of small ships sanic fast.

>50% interest
Such ursury is a sin.

Based Luddite.

Would you rather we had some twitter screencap threads instead? Or maybe some EVO photo threads?

Why does a stargate take me right next to a fucking black hole that destroys my ships and eats all my supplies? Is there a way to avoid this?

>only those with the highest of clearance in Tri-Tach headquarters know the real culprit
>behind many layers of blast doors lies the secret that made the Dominion hate the sector
>a chip full of anthro pony vore porn and the nanoforge to mass produce it

Don't warp in next to the black holes. Use a fringe jump point.

If you're good at combat, work on relations w/ someone until you can get commissioned, then do bounties and snipe small pirate fleets for both cash and +relations(=can buy good ships)

Otherwise exploration/salvage outside of the core planets; but you gotta get proper ships(a tanker and freighter ideally to support your main fleet) and the navigation skills(+burn, transverse jump) to outrun dumb AI.

depends on your fleet
fast and smal fleet = Exploration, Salvageing
slow fleet and bigger room = Smuggling and Trading
get the sensor and hyper drive techs to three ASAP, they give you huge bonuses on detection range, fuel consumption and visibilety
rank 3 of thruster tech gives you the ability to go into hyperspace at will, it's basicly an "oh shit" button

Being this autistic

Just start with a cruiser.

>fringe system jump points

The Gemini for utility that sweet baby's first carrier. The only good Buffalo is a scav Buffalo so its last place. Both the mule and Tarsus are pretty alright for their respective roles, but I'd rank the Tarsus 3rd just because the mule is basically a full blown destroyer wearing a freighter fake moustache.

STOP FUCKING TALKING ABOUT THIS E-CELEB TRASH

A SMASH THREAD DIED FOR THIS YOU STUPID FUCKS

any mods that add more civilian traffic? feels like 80% of all traffic are random military groups by the various factions, I want more traders, miners, surveyor, smugglers etc passing around the map to make it feel more alive

Civilian traffic is still part of factions. The majority of faction fleets you see in hyperspace are trade convoys

Just blow them up and install their Alpha Cores in your colony

Where's a good place to start buying nice ships? I've got a few hundred thousand in disposable income and a cargo hold full of high-grade heavy weapons. It's time to trade in my fleet of shitboxes, I think.

What loadout do you use for your cargo/fuel ships ?
Is there a point in putting capacitors/vents on them ?

Planets with large markets and good stability have better ships, but you need to have good standing with that faction to buy the military ones

wait, the [REDACTED] can be non hostile to you? well, well, well. that's some great news.

Is the game complicated? Or does it just have an overwhelming amount of options?

Sure.

Guys help a brainlet create a comfy carrier fleet. What is the best start and what should I take the time doing first?

In fact pretty much any of the freelancer suite is perfect in this game. Fuck I need to mod this in, shortly after I learn how to mod. Shortly after I gain a purple in life to drive me to do this.

redpill me on this game, why is it fun?

tfw listening to weird al while playing this. My headcanon dictates that I am blasting his music over opencoms during combat. Good example youtube.com/watch?v=XGbqGkS1c2w

>exploring some star system
>little [REDACTED] flying nearby
>suddenly get ambushed by a pirate fleet
>win and let go one small pirate frigate
>the [REDACTED] watchers rush and finish off that frigate mercilessly
Imagine this happening IRL

I couldn't get a weapon for the large energy mount, but there were a couple times I won with just pulse lasers and auto cannons. The best I can find rn is a heavy blaster, which lets me kill destroyers in maybe 10 or 15 seconds instead of 2 minutes if ever.

I am new at this, but some very brief and careful encounters with judicious use of low sensor profiles and those assholes have basically ignored me even in "omg red elart" sectors.

Then there was an experience where death decided to arrive in a interceptor force of fundacted and all they did was open coms, complain I hadn't bought winrar, and fuck back off.

Compare and contrast with pirates, who you can summon for free just by pressing the 1 button twice anywhere, any time.

>just want to be a miner with a bunch of drones to protect itself
Can I do that?

Mountain blade in space with somewhat better gameplay and more depth. This is of course all subjective though.

But aren't you already focusing on combat? Ramming into pirate fleets isn't optimal for combat imho.

>Multiple missions to survey your own fucking colony.
>No we won't just trust you, go home and scan it.

Am...am I being hit on? Is this counter-counter spying?

eh. nexerelin adds mining but generally speaking combat and exploration is much better.

You can. But the drones for mining fleets are shit.

Welcome to the government kickback club.

Just recovered this ship from a system, did I hit it big?

Attached: ship.png (1282x827, 497K)

Last time SS got updated there was basically a thread up at all times hitting bump limit for about a week. Same for the time before that. Fuck off.

lmao why are XIV legions so fucking common? It has to be the most common derelict in the game. It's a good ship but bit hard to use if you don't know what you're doing

I literally found two in the same system.

They shouldn’t even see combat. I strip them and then give them extra cargo space.

disgusting. Even the heathen I'm whipping to type this agrees. Ram them. Ram everyone, let Ludd sort them out.

Attached: HELP_THIS_IDIOT_CANT_EVEN_READ_COME_FIND_ME_IN_CORVUS.png (410x256, 58K)

Not this guy but I just found one too.
How much is it going to cost me to repair it as in getting rid of the D-mods?

>why are XIV BG derelicts so common?
Battlegroup XIV, including elements of 200th Legion (disgraced after a series of mutinies while deployed against rebels), was cut off from the Gate Network at a transfer point in vicinity of Persean Sector. Enacts network failure protocol: most of the crew is put into emergency cryosleep, many units jury-rigged, and the ships make the hyperspace journey toward the closest civilized volume. Civilian ships and outposts encountered en-route are stripped of fuel and supplies. Many core fleet elements must be mothballed or abandoned.

Half a million.

This is exceptionally boring

What do I do with reckless/aggressive officers? I've got a decent carrier officer but she's reckless

It's "messy portraits" on the forums. It isn't updated for 0.9.1a but it seems to work fine. It has a big mix of anime and video game people of all sorts of styles, some that fit and some that clearly don't. I think I saw Triss from the Witcher in there once, there's dudes that look like they're from LoGH, girls that look like they're from a space gacha game, etc.

you can with nexerelin but its not worth it at all. even the developer of nexerelin says so and its a shame.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, thanks for the confirmation

depends on the dmods you got. I wouldn't recommend restoring it to pristine since that costs more than just buying a new one, but if the dmods aren't that bad then it's totally usable.

Still won't beat the first time, first long distance survey I did and got fucking five pristine replicators.

Had a vastly overinflated view of surveys ever since.

then feel free to not play it. it's a great game otherwise, faggot

Just remember you get a malus if it’s a civilian grade hull. But I say fuck it.

I guess I could afford that but is it even worth it getting one with a fleet this small?

Compromised Hull. I feel like going down from 15k to 10k hull integrity is pretty bad for a slow ship like this, right?

Attached: screenshot002.png (1920x1080, 389K)

Yeah I always put the militarized subsystems on those, coupled with insulated engine assembly

Mind had double crew requirements and kicked my supply consumption up to 20-25/day.

No idea. It wasn't great but it sure felt cool. Mothball that sucker and sell if you want.

>being bossed around by some fag modder

whew what a cuck that Alex is

>compromised hull
Is that it? It's not bad at all. Legion has assloads of armor anyways and you'll just be clubbing pirates so your hull wouldn't even really be in danger in the first place

Attached: just_kidding_nice_mash_potato_ship.png (843x394, 241K)

>one dmod
>structural damage
Yea that's a good find alright. If you're low on funds though you should store any capitals you find somewhere until you can afford to field them. I'd recommend a fleet with 2x tarsus/buffalo and at least one phaeton medium tanker to supply it, mabye one condor carrier and a handful of destroyers/frigates as support ships with mabye 1-2 cruisers as well. You're going to want several hundred thousand credits to play around with as well. If you plan on fielding more than 1 capital you're going to need more than 1 phaeton and a lot more cargo space. Keep in mind carriers can have high crew losses as well so a single crew carrying ship in your fleet to replace losses can be handy if you plan on going far from home.
It's intentional for lore related reasons. XIV battlegroup was comprised of mostly Legions and many of them were lost in the AI war or something along those lines, so every Remnant sector has a higher chance to spawn derelict XIV Legions.

The hegemony ought to pay special to recover them desu

Heres an objective tier list for newfags. Blue into red in terms of price and power. It doesnt have Paragon which is pretty amazing, Medusa which is god tier and Sunder which is meh.

Carriers are always at least good desu

Attached: tierlsi.png (2104x1208, 3.82M)

there are two types of [REDACTED] if they are dormant they won't go after you even if you approach them and they turn hostile they just sit there and let you do stuff. However there are also active fleets and if they catch you dormant ones will join in. If you salvage certain things and you get the "it sends a signal" result some or even all of the dormant groups become active

Are there any tells if there is a planet worth colonizing or is it just explore every system and hope for the best?

>fly into a storm cloud in hyperspace to dodge the pirates chasing me
>it bounces me into another cloud
>that cloud bounces me back into the pirates
I'm not even mad, I outplayed myself

What kind of star do earthlike planets orbit, do you think?

How are the premade ship loadouts in this game? Are they usable? Any particularly bad ones?

So which mods that add new ships are actually worth getting?

Interestellar imperium, Neutrino, diable avionics, SCY, DME.

Starsector has been Yea Forums core for years fuck off

invest in industry skills

check for pirate raids and go help the defending party, then salvage all the ships and sell them on the market of the defenders.

sorry guys, i fucked up the tier list, here is the updated one

Attached: tierlsi2.jpg (1590x913, 458K)

it’s very possible to have a surprise cruiser group in sub-100k bounties because of some weird ass tiered threat calculation bs. but it’s definitely not common at all.

You probably burned way too much fuel and supplied with a bigger fleet, considering 50k bounties are really small and frail.

Did you just escape from a mental hospital or something? How the fuck did you even access a computer?

Try smuggling instead, even just buying/selling Supplies on the Black Market should earn you a profit.

Are you a schizophrenic?

High quality rip user.

I'm still not playing your mod Soren

>monitor
>bad
monitor is a great niche ship in small numbers especially with agressive/reckless captains because they'll absorb tons of fire with little cost as well as being decent at killing fighters/missiles and being small enough to not block your bigger ships' field of fire. They make a great inexpensive frontline/defensive ship in starbase sieges/capital battles because of this. The omen is even better in this role though isn't as tanky and has long downtime on its ability.

The hyperion, and afflictor, and any other phase frigates are objectively trash unless you are piloting them yourself because 99% of the time the ai is completely worthless in them. you're literally better off just fielding overdriven dmod lashers or some other garbage.

Honestly don't give the AI any frigates that aren't the omen, monitor, or tempest. they're the three most worthwhile AI frigates you can field since the ai has a hard time fucking any of them up. Anything else is basically food and will not contribute shit to your fleet.

>youtube.com/watch?v=8ATk9IlJUXs

for me it's LUDD'S HAMMER

Should I make a colony on a planet that doesn't have like

>I've literally never bought a game in my life and im not starting now
it's literally on tpb you fucking retard

>trust no one, not even yourself

is setting all my colonies as free ports a good idea as long as they keep decent stability?

Where the fuck do I find more officers?

So, I'm quite new to this game. Played it once like, five years ago, but don't remember jack shit. Trying out the first mission to get the hold of ship handling, and seeing if I can beat the enemy provided with just my dinky little Lasher- is it supposed to be near impossible?

Yeah no I'm gonna agree with the other user, that's an awfully designed tier list, especially for new folk that can't instantly name a class from memory

If I was really smart could I kill this with my fleet? I've just got a couple frigates, a light carrier, and a destroyer.

they hangout in bars at any major station or planet

The first mission with the Hound and Lasher? Try to keep the Mule facing you so your Salamanders can disable the engines, it will try to turn a bit so shields intercept them. If that doesn't work then make the Hound aggressive with an eliminate order and try to force which direction the Mule wants to face, one of you will get behind it and the fight is over once engines and armor goes down.

>the entire alpha centauri roster have portraits in the vanilla game
Based dev

Even if you played smart you'd get your ass kicked.

so where do i pirate this from? can't work out whether i'll enjoy this from simply reading about it or watching videos on it

Really boils down to this
big pp: kill em all
little pp: wuss out

Oh yeah, I'm trashing it with ease when I use both ships. I'm trying to use only my Lasher to get better at this piloting thing, and it's bricking me with ease.

Have a look at the mods that are already out there, and use them to make your own.

It truly is the greatest fun making the game your own.

>Smash threads

you know with how much Yea Forums bitches about general threads it amazes me to no end that Smash shit is allowed to stay. All day. Every. Single. Fucking. Day. Smash threads. Why in the actual fuck are they not banished to /vg/?

here we fucking go
time to /loot/

Should I play this totally vanilla first time or are there some mods I should grab regardless?

>Tri-Tach
>Onslaughts
did you sell them the blueprints like a filthy arms dealer?

They might be allies in his game. if they form an alliance (probably from nex mod), factions can share entire fleets of the others design.

Solo is pretty tricky, either the Salamanders land and you have an opening or you slowly build up hard flux with LMGs and try to safely back up to vent. Always risky when you don't have better range.

I think since they're allied with the Hegemony they get to use their ships too maybe?
Anyway the raid was shit for me, no capitals or cruisers died, they just gooned on Tartessus and fucked off

template?

you didn't say what was wrong with it though

>fight a massive battle against ten million pirates that decided to cross the entire sector just to raid me
>reminds me of mount and blade
>lose most of my ships but manage to beat them back
>start new fight
>game crashes

and to think i was about to buy this game

Well, I'll come back to it later. Now the second mission is just trashing me with all my assets in play. Is this representative much of the normal game's difficulty, or are missions are a bitch?

I just can't get into it everything is so dry, especially the interface and the combat is too hard
Will try harder next time

Is the New Galactic Order mod dead? The ships in it look like the best way to RP the Galactic Empire.

Just FYI there’s some discord gay ops going on to discredit a few anons bitching about the modding scene on the starsector forums and modders getting banned and blacklisted over such minor mods such as portrait edits/replacements and making a faction that hard counters or is “cooler” than another modder’s OC donut steel faction.

It has nothing to do with American politics, just politics on the forum and the hypocrisy of banning mods over “copyright” but allowing other mods that steal from copyrighted material because of a lack of sucking up.

>follow big ass allied fleet around
>wait for it to engage another big fleet
>scavenge the wrecks left behind

who else /nigger/ here?

yes user
yes, it's dead, it's gone, poof, no more
every single thread we go over this and every single thread gets filled with /pol/ because of it

>he is a ramlet
Niggers like you are the reason we have CP

OBSESSED

just use the forked version an user made that gets around the code crash other modders added into their mods

and the guy who made it had a hitler youth avatar on the forums

I would say the next 3-4 missions can feel like early campaign, it gets easier with skills and officers. The first two are hard to deal with if you run solo, because without mobility and range it's hard to approach.

where get?

I didn't run out of ram
it crashed as soon as I joined the battle for the second time after i drove off most of their ships
this game is just shit

Mod author MIA, don't know if the new caretaker is still working on it. See for the latest version.

There's a 0.9.0 version floating around, check the archives.

Tried letting the AI take a bat at the second mission and it blew me out of the water, by and large. Crushed them with some difficulty. Did it again, took control when it was down to my Hammerhead and an enemy frigate, and got shot to bits again. This game is brutal.

>modders hated another mod so bad they'd crash and ruin your game if you installed it
soilent and bluepilled

dump reckless carrier officers as they're useless

I've found they work well with fast or phase ships that can jump in and pull out easily, they tend to overextend with slower ships

The main issue that they'll run into though is there's already revisions being made in the modder discord to incorporate the changes that were posted to /vg/ for the new ngo mod, including the updated ship ids and fleet lists & faction checks at load.

You'll need to redesignate the IDs and not share them, otherwise they'll update their mods again to cause crashes with NGO remnants

(you)

ah darn, guess i'll fire her and put my aggressive dude in a phase ship, thanks

I think more like the version numbering (0.9.0) got the mods spooked. They're sitting on what is virtually the only repository for Starsector mods and some of it is potentially copyright infringement, stolen from each other, or potentially damaging to their precieved reputation. The communicated that this could hurt a full release and Alex agreed at face value.

Reckless directly translates to retarded for carriers. It'd be one thing if they were a screen length away from the main battle so fighters could resupply faster, but they just drive right into the middle of a furball and immediately get crippled at best or destroyed at worst.

Sorry your mod scene is gonna go down in flames when 1.0 hits and the fine spergs on loverslab mods your [insert faction] waifu getting gangbanged by in the men’s room at the bar whenever you dock.

Does anyone have the skill tree JPG? I have 30 points waiting

>Assign AI core to building
>Income decrease

Is this a BUG?

Attached: lava.png (512x512, 371K)

>setup a new colony
>immediately realize "oh shit, I forgot to bring food"
>run back to charted space
>very first planet I visit has fucking awful prices on food even though it's a farm world
>check the bar before I leave
>"hey man could you take this 2160 food to your own colony, I'll pay you"

It’s been like this for ages, read the “mod guideline” sticky. It’s there so they can ban mods that one up their own creations in the rule of cool department or just by being “better”.

It can punish you pretty hard for mistakes, I don't remember how many hours I've spent trying missions and figuring out how to not die to pirate raiders when I started years back. If combat doesn't feel stiff or jank to you it will feel pretty good once you get the hang of it.

It’s basically M&B

Attached: Por.webm (1280x720, 2.94M)

not him but I basically can't pilot without holding shift, feels terribly clunky otherwise

it's M&B in space with more micromanagement
not exactly difficult to wrap your head around after too long

>people think a 0.9 version number means the next one will always be 1.0
Or you know, the logical thing could happen and the next update will be 0.10.0

Attached: 1319601495358.jpg (585x441, 35K)

In otherwords, we're heading into another fiasco where modders start flinging shit like children in a pigsty over assets and ripped off work.

I wouldn't be bitching about the guidelines if the forums were equipped to deal with it. The files themselves cannot be seen until you open the zip and the forum itself is a terrible place for version control. There needs to be a proper repository but no one seems arsed to deal with it even with the sseth tide breaking the fucking payment page.

Attached: Workshop1.jpg (700x480, 47K)

I can't get a portrait to add to the game, did they change the process recently or something. I added the filepath to the appropriate faction file and the whole bit

There's an option in settings that makes mouse orientation the default.

If it's a building that doesn't produce anything you're losing the income from the demand tariffs

Yes you make money from what your colony sells AND buys

Thanks
I’m pretty miffled though

>Suck Tri-Tachyon corporate dick for a while as a Commissioned Privateer
>Max relationship
>Buy a Paragon and a Doom
>Paragon is the Anvil
>Doom is the Hammer
>proceed to cancel my contract after buying my ships
>travel to a bounty system
>and collect a $142k bounty in a single battle against a Pirate Armada
>with 8 Atlas Mk 2s and 16 Colossus Mk 3s
>the Doom was just barely chugging along at the end of the fight
>the Paragon didn't have scratch on the paint
these are good ships, this was a good decision

What's the easiest way to find a survey ship? I hate wasting supplies running around the entire system looking for them

>no lewd mod with ship boarding or colony raiding scenes
>tfw no reason to build up rep with the administrative sluts in comm directory

My exploration fleet is a mid sized tanker and hauler, two drone carriers and a destroyer and it goes to burn level 9 during normal travel.

Depending on loadouts and current damage and flux levels a frigate could easily blow the shit out of a destroyer. But I bet if you took the same destroyer into the simulator against the same frigate you'd annihilate it easily, even if you're clueless.

If the development feature roadmap is anything to go by after we got the industry update and colonies with 0.9.0 we're basically already done.

The game is already like 90% feature complete, the only thing left is final polish which most devs jokingly refer to as "the other 90%" but so long a feature creep doesn't suddenly take over it's not that unlikely that version 1.0 is coming and soon.

You think the sseth tide would be the wake up call to upgrade the shitty website?

Attached: 1397820505905.jpg (408x613, 112K)

Either wait until you get a job to find one or go all the way out to the edge of the map where they spawn more often

The probes can occasionally drop maps to one as well

That's fucking retarded

uh copy protection?

Huh, I think I'm figuring it out. Went from getting stomped by mission 2 AI without damaging them, to doing the opposite. Barely. Beat them all without losing a hull point, problem was misuse of fleet orders. Pick apart the enemy in detail with concentrated force instead of spreading myself thin means they can't just get on either side of me and shoot my engines to shit.

It's wonderfully tactical, and also, the AI is a cowardly shit. Just runs away when it can't outgun you.

To be fair, the legit version still has swarms of pirates ready to fuck your shit up as soon as you entire hyperspace for the first time.

huh
that changes a lot

are major factions raids to my system a one time thing, or will they visit regularly?

>one time thing
This is only the beginning
