one of the most terrifying games ive ever played
Crouching Simulator
>door opening simulator
People keep complaining about how much there is unnecessary animation but they don't realize that the xeno is always around, and every time you need to expose yourself for several seconds is dangerous. So instead of two hours worth of unnecessary animations, I think there's more like 15 minutes.
Also Amanda got the phat ass
You don't have to crouch as much as you think you do. Unless you're playing it on hard I think.
filler simulator
I stop playing cause I got stuck at a save with the alien next to me and welp I'll pick it up again I guess
damn she is stacked!
Especially if you're playing with a gamepad because you can move upright just as slowly and silently as you want with analog control. And this isn't a game that really requires mouse control.
That part when you’re on the spinning satellite getting swarmed with multiple xenos was kino. The ending parts with the shotgun was fun as well cuz it was more fpsy
Maybe it'd be scary if I didn't completely see through the alien AI after like an hour of gameplay.
>alien constantly on your ass out of hundreds of other people on the station
>comes out of the ceiling and immediately hones in on your exact location out of all the other rooms on the deck
>never checks lockers (unless you’re in them)
>never checks crates (unless you’re in them)
>waits for prey in a vent with slime dripping down only to immediately teleport to a vent 30 feet away and kill you
>spinning satellite getting swarmed with multiple xenos
Uhh... the whole point of that sequence story-wise is that "there is just one alien and we need to jettison it with this detachable lab". It's just one xeno and you. After that the game gives you the long annoying fakeout with the androids where you're supposed to think the aliens are gone because you got rid of the one.
>alien constantly on your ass out of hundreds of other people on the station
Every time.
Every thread.
You people just don't learn eh?
If there's multiple aliens, how come you never ever directly see two at the same time.
t. never played the game
>If there's multiple aliens, how come you never ever directly see two at the same time.
Every time.
Every thread.
You people simply don't like playing games eh
>You people simply don't like playing games eh
I admit AI is a very flawed game but that doesn't mean I hate it, things aren't all black and white you dumb retard.
Cool job outing yourself for never playing the game
You find a nest and there's fucking dozens of them
We all know you didn't even play it considering your first complain was explained in the game.
No one cares about any further opinion from you.
I beat it like two weeks ago in VR. I mean why don't you ever see two at a time BEFORE the revelation? Just makes it feel manufactured.
Nah you’re thinking of the wrong part
Okay so you're just retarded then, cool man
Having multiple aliens would make the game damn near impossible.
I guess it's time to replay the game then because I have no recollection of any other part where you're on any spinning anything.
and yet by your own admission the game supposedly DOES have multiple aliens in the first half.
Let me guess, you've been doing those dlc challenges?
Took me 2 playthroughs to 100% it. And then I had to die a lot to unlock 100 deaths achievement.
>you've been doing those dlc challenges?
no
No, I'm genuinely stroking my dick every time I play the game while lusting over the graphics
That thumbnail looks like someone stroking his dong in dramatic lighting
Story wise there's more than one Alien.
However, in the beginning it's supposed to be only one and the same Alien stalking you until you blow him away at one point.
I think a maximum of 2 Aliens spawn when you are in the nest.
Yes, 2, in the hive and after, and it is rare as hell you run into both at the same time.
Even then, I'm speaking purely of mechanics and pacing. Could you imagine the aliens end up alternating patrols? You'd be completely fucked unless you had maxed out buzzers, and they come to ignore them.
>Alium can show up and skook ya before the scripted first appearance if you fuck around too long at the start
During the final part of the game it's possible. I remember firing off my flamethrower in the face of an Alien that just dropped down from a vent in front of me, only for another to fucking drop as well.
In the nest it's pretty rare to get 2 aliens. At the bridge you get 2 constantly. In the rest of the game it's possible to glitch the encounters in some unknowable way that causes 2 xenos to appear
Its cuz theres MULTIPLE ALIENS. Theres a hive in the engine decks.
The first and only time I played on Nightmare difficulty, the xeno appeared about half a second before I got into the train even though I was sitting still waiting for the train. I barely got away.
you just conveniently never happen to see two at one time until AFTER the hive sequence.
It's been 5 years when are we getting a sequel?
When Nina gets hurt and is laying on the ground wheezing gently I had to stop and fap.
It's always the least expected moments that get you.
that thumbnail looks like a side view of someone tugging their dick
They could still be developing the eggs or some shit around the time you arrive.
Speaking of, how do the eggs appear if there's no yass kween making them?
Even though I'll never understand you, you're still less inexplicable to me than those who manage to fap to the noises produced by death by facehugger
Giger knew the deepest parts of the human psyche.
I remember on the old AVP2 game the facehugger death animation was the pussy dick slathering your face all over
This is Alien. Not Aliens. In the original director's cut the basic xenos can lay eggs and there is no queen. But that's not the official explanation. CA explained that there was a queen on the station. Somewhere.
Iirc they don't lay eggs, they turned people into them
horror games where you cant fight the enemy are retarded
>Deathwing
Horror games where the horror comes from your AI teammates being unable to kill the monsters or defend themselves are wose. I take it that the feature has still not been fixed and the campaign is still lacking co-op?
You can go through the campaign as a squad of up to 4 people but you have to use multiplayer classes and psygates are created automatically after certain objectives. As for the ai, they do fine as long as you keep telling them to hold position at certain areas. I just use them to kill stray xenos that get behind you while i clear the rooms. the powers you get in single player are pretty busted. you could always just give them storm shields if you dont want to manage them.
I was under the impression that you can only start multiplayer and use the map menu to select campaign missions that lack all voice acting, lore and cutscenes, meaning that it's completely pointless to pretend you're actually playing a campaign?
And when I played the last time, the AI even on the easiest difficulty were incapable of shooting in the right direction and needed to be specifically told to get healed or heal themselves.
There is still the mission briefing at the start and the voice acting over the radio from belial or who ever talks to you. Theres no banter between the ai teammates obviously and the premonitions cutscenes that fly over the next area arent present. barachiel doesnt know how to use the heavy bolter properly but otherwise i found they carried me when i first played on easy. get used to using the squad commands G for go and H for hold position i think. when you are about to fight a wave tell them to hold position and they do better. its up to you to tell them to heal. i always told them to open and lock doors for me too
Can I get a quick rundown? I don't know anything about this series but the game looks interesting, will I be missing out on anything if I'm not familiar with the lore?
I installed the game 4 months ago but never launched it because I'm too scared
Why haven't they made a sequel? The work they put into this game was absolutely amazing with so much attention to detail and respect to the series, it couldn't have sold that bad right?
I personally know the people who made Alien: Blackout. I feel bad for what they had to go through because of the fact that the PR was managed like shit. Everyone was expecting SEGA to announce a new Alien game made by CA but we got a mobile game. It didn't matter that the mobile game is decent and my friends are still getting shit for having been responsible for producing it.
It didn't sell that much since Colonial Marines put people off the franchise and IGN's retarded review didn't help things either. I don't think Sega has the license anymore either, Fox are making another Aliens game with their own dev team.
>Remember Outlast was this super controversial game years ago and considered one of the scariest games of all time
>Didn't get particularity scared at any point in the game
Whistleblower was pretty out there with its edgyness so that sorta helped but the base game is easily the most average horror game I've ever played.
The should've added the characters and content in Whistleblower in the base game.
>wow I can't suspend my disbelief and expect video games to be 100% realistic and logical
Literal retard
this is what porn does to your brain
it's in development and there's already been trailers and gameplay videos
its a phone game
did they ever explicitly say there was no queen?
Man this game lasted for fucking ever. Normally I like long games but this one just dragged. Thank god for that flamethrower and craftables, I stopped sneaking completely after getting rid of the first alien. Even when I got to the nest I just kept throwing grenades.
No. The game was simply made based on Alien instead of Aliens and CA later said in an interview or something that there was a queen just to satisfy Aliens fans.
In the directors cut you see Dallas being transformed into an egg.
>Conveniently
Yes. Everything in every video game ever has conveniently happened for narrative or gameplay pacing reasons, get over it.
what? I must have missed that
I couldn't finish it because I was too scared
either great bait or total zoomer
Jesus man, have you ever played a video game? I can't imagine you could enjoy any game if you nitpick small details like this. How about everytime you get shot with a bullet you have to lay in a bed for 15 days before you can continue the game instead of using a medkit.
More like infuriating and paranoia-inducing.
the most terrifying game i have but i got bored and stopped playing
The only really shitty part of this game is the planet flashback that's just 10 minutes of walking through mist that you can't skip.
The facehugger death sounds are hot as hell
It might not be thrilling gameplay wise but it's pretty kino
This game is so fucking based it legit ruined horror games for me. Amnesia, Soma, RE7, etc. All shit.
I will admit it's a bid too long though.
play it in VR but make sure you're on the toilet first
I can see why people would think that it's too long but if you're into the retro-sci-fi aesthetic, it's extremely long extended periods of really cool looking stuff that's spot on with the movie. So it can either be really bad or really good for you
It's a bit too slow.. and too long.. and too repedetive.
Otherwise good. 8/10
i didnt like essentially labyrinth level designs
It's more like metroidvania style level design. And I assume that by labyrinth you actually mean maze
After a while of dying at that save point the game will spawn the xeno in a different spot to give you a chance
>one of the most terrifying games ive ever played
It's not scary. The alien isn't scary. You know what it is and what it does before you even encounter it. That removes all the potential mystery and horror.
Actually loading the save will always make the Alien disappear.
>You know what it is and what it does before you even encounter it
ya, the scary part is trying to get away from it with your asshole intact.
