Really, REALLY, how bad are these ports?
Jaxon White
Zachary Ortiz
The load times ruin them. You're better off with the SNES or GBA versions.
Christopher Long
yeah that's it really. they are OK otherwise.
The load times might not seem bad if you have really low standards but it's really noticeable compared to the originals.
GBA versions suck though.
Blake Ortiz
Gba versions are hype. Love the extra post game content.
Grayson Martin
The awful load times pretty much make them the worst way to play it and it doesn't really change anything over the SNES version.
GBA would be the best version if it wasn't for the brighter pallete or the music. The SNES version has such an absurd amount of bugs the GBA version fixed. The music can be fixed through emulation as well. GBA version also fixes the awful nonsense Woolsey translations but nostalgiafags still like to pretend the original garbage translation is better.
Blake Rivera
Let’s just say 1 or 2 second of loading every time i open up the menu and a few seconds to load for every battle don’t bother me, is the rest fine? Any cut content? Censorship? At least the music should sound nice and the graphics look great on my PVM with RGB, right?
I’m trying to avoid emulation so it’s either GBA or PS1 for me since i don’t have a SNES.
Jack Lee
Chrono Trigger's load times is the only one that bothered me. It's like 5 seconds every time you open and close the menu.
Justin Howard
Play them on a Vita with fast disc reading activated and they're fine.
Or just play them on PS3, if you don't know any better you won't notice why people complain about them
Joshua Murphy
>GBA versions suck though
???
The gba versions have additional content that's actually really good, pristine translations that are infinitely better than any other version of the game (especially FF5's), tons of bug-fixes, no load times, portability, and the list goes on. You are just wrong, dude.
Ian Wilson
This. Dragon's Den is hype. The eight dragons are like the the data organization fights of ff.
Kayden Diaz
doesn't it have worst music and colors?
I don't know about you but that kills that version for me, I don't care about the translation because I don't play games in burger language.
Elijah Campbell
I have the euro version and the only loading the game does is with saving and the first battle of a session. I don't consider it any worse than the SNES iteration as my PS1 output a cleaner picture. I heard the games do load better in general on the PAL version.
Charles Walker
Too bad the audio and graphics on the GBA version are dogshit and the GBA content isn't available in another version.
I hate how many square games are like this where no one version is ideal cause its missing something/the translation is shit/the graphics and audio are fucked
Jack Carter
It only ruined Chrono Trigger.
Evan Ward
SO PATCH THEM YOU FUCKING IDIOTS AND DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE ACTUALLY PLAYING THEM ON A REAL GBA BECAUSE I KNOW YOU'RE NOT YOU'RE FUCKING LOSERS LOSERS DON'T NEED MUH ORTAFUCKGING FUCK SHUT UP BUNCH OF WHINYFUUUUUUUCK SHUT UP SUPT SHUT USP SHUT UP SO SICK OF THIS SHIT EVERYDAMNDAYHERENONSTOPBITCHINGANDMOANINGAND WHINING EVERY

IMAGINE giving a fuck about extra content added to a JRPG when it gets ported to a different system.
There’s isn’t a single extra content worth playing in the history of JRPGs, those are always trash.
Logan Johnson
Maybe it's because I grew up with the gba ports, but I don't see what's wrong with them. Even if the presentation is inferior, it's worth it for the bonus content. It's not like ffx, where it doesn't matter how many extra bosses they add since you still have to do the same intolerable minigames to get the final weapons or you don't stand a chance.
Joshua Myers
This
I bet those faggots who sing praises about VI's extra content also defend IV's complete collection
Liam Thomas
I fuck your mom in her ass at night.
Jeremiah Carter
Sure, dude. I'll take the opinion of someone who doesn't even like jrpgs on which version of each jrpg is best. Totally not talking out of your ass or anything.
Charles Miller
I first played final fantasy on IOS. No idea about the quality of ports but felt good :^)
Alexander Richardson
What’s the matter honey? Are you angry about people laughing at your shit GBA port that looks and sounds terrible? Oh well... at least it has that extra content! I bet it’s really fun and totally not rehashed tedious filler shitted out in a few days of development just to have something to put on the back of the box!

I'm the guy who hates the GBA ports but FF6 is the one JRPG I can think of that actually could really use some post-game content. It's mostly because you can easily clear almost everything in the game way before you come anywhere near your maximum power level. Kefka is easy around level 40 even if you don't have Ultima, a spell that can eventually be chain-cast 5 times in a single turn for nearly 50k damage.
It's not worth it at all for FF4 or FF5 though.

Zachary Long
It's not bad, just longer load times. Otherwise it's pretty much exactly the same
