Why does Sonic Team even exist at this point? There burnt as fuck and obviously don’t care. Just get fans to do the hard work like Sonic Mania and slap a producer logo on the back

>Knuckles paid for Sonic Forces
poor bastard
i honestly don't get it either
it's the exact same for tf2, valve clearly doesn't give a shit about it anymore but for some reason they won't let the fans take over despite how much effort some are ready to put into it
maybe eventually sega will realize how much money they can get from doing absolutely nothing and they'll let more fans create sonic games? since mania did well i suppose they could be at least considering this
How do you think the internet connection is on Angel Island? He’s gotta have one since he’s playing Sonic 2 on PC.
DESU I think they make shitty Sonic game so they pay more attention to Puyo Puyo
They're working on Chao Garden.
tails and sonic went on an adventure and got a flash drive with the game on it and then gave it to knuckles
The problem is that they have these new writers who don't know the first thing about Sonic.
The best course of action would be to bring back the old writers.
He has every sonic game bro
No the writing is secondary at best. The games aren’t good. Forces wasn’t bad because of a shit plot. It was bad because of short levels and being the shiftiest boist game
Sonic Forces is actually pretty good. I played it on the Switch and played through it again on PS4. I realized it wasn't a bad game, specially for 17 bucks. Team Sonic Racing though is soulless as fuck and not worth it.
Knuckles looks like he would browse /r9k/
>Sonic Forces is actually pretty good
No its not. The worst part is I know a small part of the fandom is going to say shit like this in the next 10 years unironically like what's happening with 06 and Shadow the Hedgehog.
You're wrong. It's genuinely a decent game and nowhere near Sonic 06 levels in any way. Replace Shadow with Boom.
How is it decent? It's a worse Generations and overall boring. The only thing I probably liked about it was the backgrounds in the stages had stuff going on sometimes.
Sonic Team exists as a hiring pool for Nintendo. Unfortunately for Sega, Nintendo can outbid them for any of their employees and most people will take this. All Mario games since Sunshine have been made by former Sonic Team staff.
Sonic Team has no veteran staff, therefore they never get to reach their peak potential.
So? Is Sonic Team just proving grounds for Nintendo if so that just gives Sega more reason to shut them down. Maybe Nintendo will start picking of Mania team staff
Why would you get rid of a potential hiring pool that makes you a successful product? You're not smart.
It has the best 'Modern Sonic' gameplay there is. Sonic has more control, a better boost (with better control in the air) and the best homing attack in the series. There is nothing wrong with the stages themselves except for a handful that are way too short. But on the brightside, I don't feel bad going back to those same stages to try and get a better time because they are quick and enjoyable. There are a few sections where you just 'boost to win' and QTEs that shouldn't be there but there is only a few. On top of the 30 stages there are also plenty of extra stages no one ever plays which are pretty good too. Like you said also I think these are some of the most beautiful stages Sonic has ever been in, especially that white city near the end. Avatar customization is fun and I enjoyed those stages especially when you're with Sonic to boost. Classic Sonic is about the same as he was in Generations. These stages mean nothing but they aren't painful to play. The game also runs perfectly and there are no issues concerning bugs or anything. So it isn't Sonic 06 level. I also like the world menu design and I like how they attempted to go back to the edgy days of Sonic.
I bought both of those games.
TSR is honestly alright, pretty fun. Probably the best Sonic game since the last game that same studio did, barring Mania that is.
Haven't touched Forces since the end of 2017 and doubt that'll change.
>Why does Sonic Team even exist at this point?
They don't. Sega of Japan handed the reigns to Sega of America. Sonic Pillar is the ones in charge now.
Team Sonic Racing is ugly and there is nothing that stands out for it. They just stripped Transformed down to Sonic characters and it looks low budget. In comparison I literally just tried Crash Team Racing since I bought both games yesterday and Crash Team Racing is overflowing with love and care. I didn't feel that with TSR. The customization is okay I guess. I also could not stand to watch any of those 'cutscenes'. I skipped every single one. The CPUs rubber band like a mother fucker too. Sonic Forces is way better as a Sonic game.
I disagree with that for the most part, but I can see what you mean. Forces to me felt really lackluster, and TSR was just plain fun to me after that game's disappointment. My expectations weren't really high, as I always felt Transformed was a hard act to follow.
I could really tell that despite them once again having a low budget (because all of the Sumo Digital games they've made for SEGA involving their IPs are pretty much budget games, calling out only TSR for being low budget doesn't really make sense to me) they tried to make the best of it, and for what that's worth I think they did fine despite being held back by SEGA and Sonic Team's views for the game. Had they had more creative freedom and SEGA wasn't so shit, we could have gotten a better game. While I do think CTR is superior, I still prefer the handling from Transformed and TSR overall, so once I finish the Adventure Mode of that I likely won't play it much afterwards.
There's no doubt in my mind that it would have been a smarter move to remaster both All Stars Racing games into one, with all the roster cuts between games intact, added characters and customization options, and all the missions in both games included as well, and maybe with a few new stages, using the engine they used for the successors, then offering all of the added content as DLC for the PC version of Transformed, but I'm all for a new game as well.
