>30FPS
umm no thanks sweatie

>XD
fuck off

do we know what they changed in the gameplay?

>XD

I will unlock the framerate so I can have eight times the JUSTICE and 240 FREEDOMS PER SECOND

Does it actually have good gameplay? Writing seemed funny enough from the trailer.

>CHADS

heh chads xd

It doesn't matter if the gameplay is "good", it runs at 30fps which automatically makes it trash.

People can enjoy games even without your approval.

it was specifically built for a 6th gen console... it would probably break if it went over 30fps.

then why are you nintendofags hyping up your own mech game that runs at 18fps?

No they can't.

5th gen ran at 60, there's no excuse.

I'm a PC gamer, fuck nintendo.

>XD
gb2gaia

>I'm a PC gamer
nobody believes this since you're shitposting so hard against a game that's exclusively not on switch. now go back to your switch discord.

>No they can't.
lmao, I love it when people with a god complex value their opinion more than anything.

Attached: 1547935195400.jpg (508x508, 113K)

I don't care what game is on what system, nobody should be encouraging 30FPS games. Technology has improved in the world so much that it is simply unacceptable.

Me too, it's fun.

woa look at the internet tough guy over there, better not mess with that guy!

It's out? Thought there was one more day left.

Yeah you better watch out or else I scramble your Wifi signals to make you lag slightly more than usual

>Xbone doesn't get a physical despite the original being on the Xbox.
>PS4 gets a physical but only a limited run.
I am so confused.

Attached: d84.jpg (680x420, 23K)

It comes out the 6th, but there has been on trailers or anything aside from the one after E3.

>XD
fuck off

Wait how the fuck is it 30fps?
It's an ancient game, what

Attached: 1563745687332.jpg (274x322, 71K)

>It's an ancient game,
Exactly, and it's japanese to boot, the game logic is irrevocably tied to the framerate, running the game at 60fps would double the speed of all animations and make you run, shoot and take damage twice as fast.

Based.

Yep. People modded Dark Souls PC to run at 60 and the biggest hurdle was fixing everything this poster mentioned. They mostly got it but the game still breaks sometimes.

Speaking of fps why do metal wolf threads mostly have people saying the 30fps is unfortunate but not a deal breaker while astral chain threads are filled with people screaming that they won't buy the game because of it.

I'm starting to suspect it's sonyfags trying to discredit the game because they feel threatened by how well received it has been

Give me a quick rundown on why I should buy this game

It's fun
It's 30FPS so you get that silky smooth cinematic experience. What else could you ask for?

It feels like forever since it was announced. Why'd this take so long to port/localize?

How do the hitboxes in this compare to dark souls?

So best bet is to wait until people release a DSFix version of this game?

My guess is because one is a remake of an old game; and the other is a new game for a relatively new console.

fpsfags are just shitposters. just ignore em. the only places where high fps matters are fast arena shooters like quake 3.

Good thing I'm used to 30 fps "trash" games.

I was trying to play castle crashers with my roommate and my eyes were in pain because of the background not moving smoothly. Hyper Light Drifter was originally released in 30FPS and a shitload of people were complaining about how not-smooth it was. The shitposters have a speck of truth to their words.

Good thing I've eaten shit all my life so now I can do it without complaining

>It feels like forever since it was announced. Why'd this take so long to port/localize?
It had full English localisation from the start, this was actually meant to be From's breakout game for western markets but its release was hamstrung by publishing deals that meant it released in Japan first and the western release was ultimately killed by the announcement of the Xbox 360, they were also working on a multiplayer mode for the western release before it was cancelled.

As for why it took so long, they had to rebuild the rendering engine from scratch because running the OG engine through an abstraction layer broke all of the lighting on every map as well as most of the effects.

I highly doubt MWC will recieve the same amount of attention that DaS got. So don't hold your breath.

Eh, if Deadly Premonition could get that kind of love, Metal Wolf can as well, it's notorious enough to garner that kind of interest.

I think 9/11 happening around it’s release might of had something to do with it as well, though I am not sure if it is true.

in astral chain's case, it's a massive step backwards from bayo 2, which ran at 60fps on the wii u. of course people are going to be more critical of that than a remake of an old game where the logic is probably tied to the framerate anyway.

You do you, I'll keep enjoying my shit.

Attached: a5a9a231449bd8ee8586cd439b4541cd.jpg (1024x894, 79K)

>it's a massive step backwards from bayo 2, which ran at 60fps on the wii u

it only ran 60fps on wiiu if there were no enemies around.

why would you pre-purchase a remaster that has the potential to fuck everything up

>tfw not a framefag
30fps or 60fps? Heh... It don't matter to me kiddo

It's fun but doesn't have much longevity.

>potential to fuck everything up
It's a remaster not a remake.
What remaster messed up a game before?

Dark Souls Remastered messed up some of the lighting and introduced new bugs

Not him but I was playing a remastered JRPG that was apparently TOTAL shit on launch. I don't know the details of it but it was apparently really bad. Resonance of Fate.

Silent Hill 2

>Impliying some epic gamer hacker wont unock higher framerates by chnaging some .ini or some shit.

either way it'll be fine. games dont have to be high framerate to be enjoyable.

>messed up the lighting
Oh no not the lighting.
These are ps3 remasters and the ps3 was shit even compared to the ps4 let alone pc.
I'm not finding anything on this even with a google search.
I played the original game and nothing looks wrong from old videos on youtube.

Yes they do. There are a lot of people (me included) that are unable to play games in 30FPS because of the physical pain that comes with focusing on objects that is not moving smoothly.

>moving goalposts

Someone posted 2 days after release all of the issues that were present.

are you baiting?

For me, this is actually true. I realize that the following tidbit is not at all common, but I ended up downloading a program that interpolates any video media into 60FPS and I am physically incapable of watching media without it on. Anime, movies, TV shows, etc. SVP Project for anyone curious.

I've never heard of that, but it's unfortunate. That just might be a subjective thing relating to you and others who share that problem but theres plenty of sub-60fps games that are loved. I understand if inconsistent framerate is annoying, but constant 30 or 60 fps is fine.

>Oh no not the lighting.
retard, half the reason a game looks good is because of the lighting

this sounds like a YOU problem user. Sorry it's like that for you but it's a minority thing.

The only thing the devs have worked on is that shitty ecko graffiti game, it's not like they have a great record of remastering

Pansies susceptible to motion sickness shouldn't be allowed to play video games. Change my mind

>waaah I get a headache when I play the video game
Grow some balls kid

I was with everyone on the topic because I wanted to buy the game, but couldn't bring myself to do it until it was fixed. You can search "Hyper Light Drifter 30 FPS" and you'll see a ton of people complaining about it. Here's just one thread of many:
steamcommunity.com/app/257850/discussions/0/365163686051684981/

The game was later (months later) patched to run at 60 and promptly bought the game and suddenly no one had any more issues about it. This is just one example of 30FPS cancer but I'm sure there more. I just wanted to use an example that I'm personally familiar with.

I was thinking about picking it up, but I do also have a modded OG Xbox I could play on instead, and now people ITT are saying the remaster could be fucked. What should I do?

Because of self induced brainwashing.
You only can't handle 30fps because you convinced yourself it mattered more than it does.

>XD
2005 called you gigantic fucking faggot fuck OFF with this bullshit holy FUCK I can't take this shit anymore

The joke is only funny when you keep it short.

>Because of self induced brainwashing.
>You only can't handle 60fps because you convinced yourself it mattered less than it does

And even then the joke is starting to get a bit old

Already played it in English on the Xbox. Why would I wait 15 years for scraps? Bound to have a lot of issues too, and I don't want to support the adult swim of video games.

Attached: unleashx-dash.webm (640x486, 2.91M)

Most old games didn't run at 60fps. No, not even on CRT.

>still no reviews
All you had to do was to give some early codes, Devolver!
For fuck's sake, dude.

Attached: 1453306310547.jpg (1002x960, 165K)

They do.

>the adult swim of video games
What the fuck are you talking about?

Some did, but I don't think "most" did.

Most old games had retarded fluctuations.
SNES games would run anywhere from 16 to 200+ fps depending on what was on screen.
That is not "60fps"

Man the HUEG catalog was kino. Half the games were just taking a simple idea then doing something batshit insane to differentiate it
>Make third person action game
>Have it have card battle mechanics with a song from the director of fucking Buffalo '66
>Make a mech game
>Require you to buy a 150 dollar controller and have it be permadeath
>Make a third person action game
>Add in a a bunch of RTS elements

Attached: Phantom Dust.jpg (1920x1080, 561K)

>Phantom Dust
Man that game is good, I downloaded it when it was free for win10 and now I'm finally starting to play it.
I'm not sure I would call it a 'third-person RTS' but strategy sure is one of the most important elements of gameplay.

it's the type of shit that would only happen on a companies first console. they had to just throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. and since it was microsoft, it's not like they didn't have the money to just fund whatever just to try and get some franchises started.

I'm not talking about Phantom Dust with the RTS, I'm talking about KuF.

RICHAAAARD!

>One of the few platformers outside of Metal Arms and Rayman 2 to have a consistent dark atmosphere throughout
>Has a 10/10 sountrack
>Will never get a sequel

thousand land is another great console RTS. From Software made it. From Soft also made the excellent Otogi games and if you want a great action game that's not ninja gaiden, Magatama is fantastic.

no u

Otogi is great, reminded me of Dragon Ball for some reason in terms of how much shit it lets you destroy. For some reason alot of Xbox games had a focus on destruction of buildings, Otogi, Phantom Dust, Mechassault.

did the remake get scrapped?

Who even fucking cares? It'll be forgotten inside of a week like every Devolver game that isn't Hotline Miami.

People don't seem to get that, user. Vanquish on PC had this exact issue as well.

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. The Adult Swim of video games is Adult Swim.

>$25 price tag
that's an oof-a-doofy yikearonis Devolver. Should have been $20 at the most, preferably $15 since it's an old game.

>From Software will never experiment again
>We'll never get stuff like Metal Wolf again
>We won't even see Armored Core ever again
>Just 200 different varients on Dark Souls with different paint jobs
I guess even Japanese devs can become soulless.

Attached: 1555733956898.jpg (514x562, 67K)

>being a beta tester for a whole decade and five years
>damaging controlling this hard once the realization set in
you're boiling, m8.

$10 is optimal
i'd say $5 personally

Well user if it's too expensive for you then you can wait another 20 years for an OG Xbox emulator to finally be able to run properly or buy it off eBay for the far more reasonable price of $130.

>if Deadly Premonition could get that kind of love
It didn't though, the DP is still barely playable at best. Even if you can run it the game still crashed from the memory leak after a few hours anyways.

Literally all of Microsoft's games announced during that 2014 timeframe except for Crackdown 3 got scrapped. Ironically, Crackdown 3 looked to have the most amount of issues considering if you followed the development cycle, and yet, it was the only one that managed to get a release.

Yes, and the released footage looked like shit so I don't really care. Microsoft seems to weirdly gamble on studios with no history or an incredibly rocky history. They trusted the same guys who made Silent Hill Homecoming to make Killer Instinct and it paid dividends, they trusted a literally who studio to make Ori and it paid dividends, they trusted a literally who studio to make Phantom Dust and it didn't work out.

>240 Freedoms Per Second
Why this wasn't a marketing term I'll never know. You're actually a genius

I don't even think it would be hard to get Yukio Futatsugi to helm another phantom dust project. Guy's a real visionary.

or i can get an xbox and mod it for almost the same price as this remaster, and then have access to the game + the entire og xbox library...

which mind you, either can't be emulated or emulates like utter fucking shit.

What does XD even mean for Japanese games?

It's like HD but stronger.

He's stated he's interested in making another game and actually has a pretty good relation with Microsoft. He's also working with Swery who also has a good relation with them and is actually a friend of Phil Spencer. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens at one point. But the people at Microsoft who were pushing for it like Ken Lobb and Adam Isgreen are working mainly on stuff like AoE and both are probably working on a KI sequel. If they were smart they would get the other main guy who is in charge of third party partnerships, Joe Staten who is not only a massive weeb, but is also fluent in Nipponese and has a very similar game development philosophy to alot of jap devs to deal with Futatsugi to broker the development of one.

Attached: Joe.jpg (225x225, 12K)

It's like they have all this talent at the doors and no desire to open it.

I always thought that it was kinda like 2D... 3D... XD!

RICHARRRRRRRRRRRRD

How did you cope playing games before current gen zoomer?

WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR?
bE CERTAIN!! OF YOUR DEATH. HERE. AND. NOW.

>zoomer
I'm old enough to know that 30 fps (sometimes less) was the standard in those times. But it's not 1999 anymore and the new standard is at LEAST 60 fps (people are pushing for 120 already). Technology has improved to the point that 30 fps shouldn't even considered from the development standpoint anymore unless you're marketing towards toaster children.

>Devolver Digital and FromSoftware have partnered together with developer General Arcade to modernize Metal Wolf Chaos with updates to the game including upgraded visual fidelity, refined controls and gameplay, a new save system, and 4K + 16:9 support for modern displays.

except the framerate
30fps confirmed

"Mech America great again" was a great slogan. Wish it stuck around but it would've been marketing suicide.

It did stick around, it was in the post-E3 trailer, just in small text.

Alot of it is no doubt due to a number of main things, things that tend to effect the revitalization of any effort that has failed before. Their previous Jap efforts have resulted in some pretty cool games, JSRF, Phantom Dust, Steel Batallion, NGB, Lost Oddyssey, D4, but most of them were seen as just throwing a cracker to the annoying parrot in the corner squawking about Japanese support, so they hold off on buying a console and wait to see if it continues, but it doesn't because they didn't buy the games in the first place. The second is Jap developers just straight up skipping out on the system for a myriad of both reasonable and stupid reasons. Nier Automata released almost a year after initial release on Xbone and was in the top sellers for the system for a few months straight and still shows up as a top seller every once in a while, part of this is due to the fanbase that's grown around the brand. Xbox fans will buy a jap game if it is about fast paced action and beating up shit, they probably aren't going to buy Super Panty Quest XVIXVIVI whereas other brands fans will. The stupid reasons are also sometimes just non-nonsensical, just look at the interviews with Ed Fries about the original Xbox and how the Japanese reacted to it and you have some straight up retarded responses like "it's black and that's bad" and when questioned about how the PS2 is black they would just stare blankly at him. So now when they say they are going to try to get Japanese support they have to either give out big payouts, rely on late ports of already successful games, try to rely on their good relations with jap devs like Sakaguchi, Swery, Futatsugi, or Itagaki. If I were them and wanting to solve the issue I would just approach them and say Futatsugi you make weird artsy/arcady games, Swery you make batshit insanity, Itagaki you make action games, and Sakaguchi you go make RPGs. Do what you do best.
