Anyway, the games are not standalone, most of them are separated in trilogies and each trilogy is completely unrelated with each other.

The new combat and crafting system seems interesting. Also it seems like they're adding a lot of quality of life changes which was one of my biggest gripes with the games. Navigating around menus and figuring what you need to do and where you need to go was way too convoluted.
I know people shit on the witcher and stuff for quest markers and magic horses but come on I don't have the patience for figuring out everything. Hopefully Ryza will be more streamlined and easier to play with improved graphics.

The story hardly matters so it doesn't really matter which game you jump into and the characters are such simple anime tropes that you'll understand what they're about in the first minute you see them.

I like the atelier stories though, they don't try to tackle some political or philosophical idea that people tend to consider as "deep". But they're fun and interesting fantasy stories. They're just like short dnd campaigns where you're just supposed to fun and think think about the morals of terrorism or whatever.

The thing that I like most about her is the fact that she has brown hair and brown eyes. Anime characters tend to have anything but that. They either have pitch black eyes, eyes ANY color other than brown, or any other random hair color. The fact that she's brown/brown makes her look more attainable, like that girl next door who you feel like you had a chance with but just never tried.

Yes, for a light hearted game series about little girls running alchemy workshops, the mechanics involved are actually surprisingly complex. You could easily spend hours just dicking about crafting shit because the amount of variation in the shit you can make and the end result of the process is insane.
