Its not bad
It's fucking boring since they reduced the difficulty. Leveling used to be kind of challenging and you had to watch your ass
is it worth playing for free if you just want to see the story or are you jewed into needing something from the paid ver?
You can technically play the main stories on a free account, but be warned that they're nickle&dimeing pretty hard on various quality of life features. Last time I played there were 3 tiers of users. Subscribed accounts get everything and a monthly stipend of "credits" that you can use in their money-shop. Then there's the preferred accounts, for those who have at some time spent money on the game, be it the shop or former subscribers. Here you already start feeling the boot in the neck to goad you into paying some more. For instance, your bank account is limited to 350k at a time. Any money you have beyond that is locked away until you're a subscriber (again), or you have to pay credit fees (= real money) if you want to go over the limit for singular transactions. You can forget about using the trading market at this point. Last and least are the true f2p accounts. Can't say much about those, as I've never played it this way, but I already find the restrictions on "preferred accounts" to be in pretty poor taste.
I subscribed for about 4 months with their one time prepaid subscribe method and felt pretty entertained by the story run for the various classes and the subsequent knights of the fallen somethings campaigns. I'd say it was worth the investment, even though I was strictly in for the single player content. If you're hell bent on not paying anything, then I think it's technically possible, but the game will try to make that experience as tedious as possible to wear you down.
if you want to play this is the perfect time because of the exp event
PS: Not sure whether the expansions (Revan, Knights of the Fallen Empire) were made available for true f2p accounts by now or whether you still have to be subscribed at least once to get those.
>Tfw actually kinda like the Soldier story
>British accented love interest doesn't hurt
>Liked the tank style build
Smuggler was also fun, stopped playing because I started working more. Shouldn't at least give the Empire spy, or whatever, story a shot and the bit I played from the Warrior was ok mostly because Barrus nails it.
I just played a crazy sith bitch and killed everyone who got in the way to lvl 65 i think.
Closest ill ever get to a KOTOR 3.
unironically enjoying tortanic atm. the double xp lets me skip all planet story quests/side quests and focus on class story quests. during these past 2 weeks i finished bounty hunter, sith warrior, trooper, sith inquisitor, and smuggler.
every time
Thats like ME:Andromeda's krogans fight
>kill X mobs
>get Y loots from their corpses
>loot Z crates in that area
>kill miniboss in that area
>mobs are two types: 2-4unit groups of weak AOEable goons or 1 separate chunky dudes
>quest counts both big dudes and small as 1 kill, so you have to avoid bigs and kill small dudes for faster progression
horrible MMO, tho
It's also not that good, I just wanted KOTOR III that would tie the other two well enough and give us a worthy ending, but that's off the table I shuppose.
It's the best change they ever made. There are so many unavoidable enemies placed in your way that 90% of players gave up before the 2nd act. It's obnoxious zow you fight a cave full of dudes on your way to the quest and the same mobs on your way out followed by a 10minute r6n throught an empty world of nothingness to your next laboriously long slaughterfest. This is padding = the game.
I lost interest in the game when they killed pvp and made our currency 1/10th of its former value and they changed grinding for each of 15 pieces or whatever take from 10 hours each to like 100 hours each. And they also boosted the armors % making anyone having 2-3 pieces more than you completely invincible, even if they were terrible and had no idea how to do rotations correctly. Forget that.
Imperial Agent storyline was absolutely fucking kino.
I still have my title (Unbreakable, I think?) for server first Heroic Soa kill.
No option to leave/kill annoying npc party members, you always have to recruit them even it makes no sense (gault reno, scadge...)
How the hell does this look worse than the animations from the Kotor games? And those games were already graphically dated at the time of their release.
