He's in!
bring him back you motherfuckers
ETA on the new trailer?
i hope not, hes boring shit with a bad design that has mostly been in n*ntendo games.
SA is only useful for applying status like para. That's fucking it
Whenever I see an SA user, I feel displeased but as soon as he brings a Para SA, I'm a happy fucking guy
When they feel like it.
Fuck
Sorry bro, he's in.
Thoughts?
Roster so far.
Zignore is all but confirmed
Lagi and Khezu are de confirmed officially
Val, gore, and Steve are up in the air but bets place Steve on being in the game as a secret invader and gore and shaggy being free dlc
Weirdly enough Yian Guargua might be in or possible Kulu is getting the Guragua treatment
Paralysis Valhazak variant maybe
Mystery water elder
Everwyrm is the final boss
>Glavenus?
Don't think so, or else there will be a split path for Acidic as well. Dark purple materials just suggest Steel Uragaan, even though I know his material colors are blue. Could be something new entirely
i can forgive the flood of 4th gen trash as long as we get garuga
>Paralysis
>monster stops moving for maybe 3-4 seconds once or twice a fight.
I dont get the appeal.
What happened why dod they get de confirmed?
Going full meme and fighting Extremoth with all four using SA was one of the more enjoyable times I got dragged into doing that.
Forgot about the obligatory new siege
it's 5-6 procs depending on the monster. Also, that 5 seconds is enough to dish out tons of damage with a competent party.
That’s true my bad
>khezu deconfirmed
Fuckin nobody said that
Like the other user said, it’s time for the whole party to attack, and also paralysis increases damage by 25% during those 7 seconds.
its around ~6 seconds, during which team your team can deal a ton of damage.
and you can apply it up to ~6 times, with around the same number of hits
and SA can get up to ~600 paralysis attack and apply it super easily
when we do extremoth I like to bring one SA and have them equip para for phases 3 and 4. It makes it a total cakewalk.
>the absolute state of Khezufags
Well in series or recent interview in China the officially reconfirmed lagi and all leviathans for 5th but promised they’d be in MHW2 along with monkey, beast, etc
And in the same interviews they reconfirmed khezu, but it was a soft deconfirm, so it’s a toss up between whether the translation is “we can answer the question” or a straight up no to him being in. Given that the main issue with lagi was his neck and one of the key things the dick monster dies us stretch is neck really long probably means they ran into the same issues with him as they did lagi, so he’s probably not in
>PC Iceborne releases 4 months after console release
>and also paralysis increases damage by 25% during those 7 seconds.
Not in world
>DMC team delivers a good port on day 1
>MH team needs months to release the port
I dont get it
I actually had no idea what it actually did besides stun them, why do you get the best answers pretending to be retarded.
I CAN'T LIVE LIKE THIS
>why do you get the best answers pretending to be retarded.
maybe that's the purpose I guess
>you're gonna have to endure base PS4 framerates and load times again
Q:初代中就登场的元老怪物“フルフル(旧电龙)”会在《Iceboren》中登场吗?
>辻本:这个目前的答复是应该不会。
Q: Will Khezu from Gen 1 make its return in Iceborne?
>TsujiP: The answer I can give now is "probably not".
Not a full deconfirm but they are probably not even of thinking about adding him in
No one wants to help someone just because they can, but they love to prove someone wrong
This is basic stuff
I want to give SnS a try in GU but i've never used it before.
Any tips? Recommended style?
Because people are most interested in proving they're smarter than you than they are actually helping another person.
>Yian Guargua
>sister comes over for family meeting
>watches me play MHW
>"user why do you hurt them? what did they do to you?"
>actually have a hard time explaining but just say "well I wanna make nice weapons and armor from them"
>"but what about their families? what about the kids they have at home?"
>"okay I'll put them to sleep"
>everyone went home
>go to sleep
>experience a full week of nightmares thinking about all the orphans I've made
>including seeing them get eaten by other monsters because no one's protecting them
this was all a month ago and I just remembered cause she came over again. I always capture whenever she's here
But fuck me I didn't had a good sleep because of her
*blocks your fucking path*
>including seeing them get eaten by other monsters because no one's protecting them
Other monsties gotta eat too.
Thread appropriate.
Well they rarely say if what you kill is make or female and it’s a toss on whether they actually take care of they’re young together, make runs off, they abandon their eggs in a hole somewhere, or they trick other monsters into raising them like real animals do.
If all that info helps you at all?
That's life user. What you can do as a human is invent morals and religion, and force it upon everyone, particularly the naive. Just remember to hold yourself to the code as well.
Gore better be in Iceborne you fucking hacks
Where the hell are these interviews coming from? Everyday I see different statements
Ryozo loves Khezu, would be weird if he's not in
I have no problem enacting genocide on multiple species and murdering oversized newborns fresh out of the cocoon, yet I still hope they never make the mistake of showing a small baby monster in-game.
I always feel happy to help out with status shit after I got the Kulve Taroth Axe Paralysis. How good is the Zorah Y set at getting more status off?
It just says he can't confirm it. They can't just tell interviewers what monsters are in
Feels bad to be a lagifag
Sony is probably paying a good amount of coin to keep initial exclusivity especially since the base game sold so well.
I never believed anyway.
They’ve been released sparatically throughout the week. Remember that glavanus gameplay reveal in Hong Kong? The interviews pretty much come from that
Here’s the latest one about khezu and transmog, it’s in Chinese
bbs.a9vg.com
Feels bad man
When's the next developer log ryozo????
Reality is harsh. At least MH has you fight them because most of the time its either the encroaching rathalos or your town, and you have got to defend your home just as he has to protect his nest. And it's not like humanity triumphs over monsters and fucks them over 24/7, just look at the ruins all over the place.
MH6 bro...mh6
It's fantastic, it's the one thing SA really excels at. Here's what I use with it. Eat a voucher and get Felyne Specialist, too.
For people who played the beta, how is the clutch claw? Is it annoying? Does it make the game too easy? Do you feel like you need to use it too much? Does it make the game better? I've just been kinda worried about it as a gameplay addition.
Striker is fun.
Remember that you're invulnerable during your Round Force hunter art.
It’s amazing, basically makes the game attack on Titan and makes vanilla boring to play without it. If like fun things in your game you’d like it if you’re into that TA shit and MH is hardcore you may not
Does anyone else here like arena?
no because I'm a shit player who has no friends ]
I would like it a lot more if it had single player modes. Its tough to find a good co-op partner for it. Plus if it had single player modes it would contain a lot of parse trannies.
One can only hope that "Water Zorah" isn't actually Zorah.
>Paralysis Valhazak variant maybe
That's just the acidic glavenus LS, it has the same rare material as the fire LS branching from Uragaan, and the materials have a greenish tint.
what's your MH story, Yea Forums?
>grew up dirt poor
>has a cousin who love MH
>he always insisted that he wanted the latest psp
>just so he could pass the old one down to me, hacked it and hunted with me
>had several thousand hours in FU and p3rd alone
>we moved.still played the 3ds games with him time to time
>better off now, but he was in some problem with drug and short on cash
>decided to get him a ps4 last christmas as a present for him
>he cried
>"MHW fucking suck"
The correct answer is: because monsters are assholes.
Reminder that in nature most predators prefer to prey on babies because they're easier to catch and less damaging to the existing population when killed
Someone post the comic. You know the one.
>Barioth CB.webm
Uh-huh. CB. Right. That's the point of this webm.
>i can forgive the flood of 4th gen trash as long as we get garuga
What are you talking about?
Thanks user, i'll give it a shot.
how about a full package
youtube.com
Fuck you man
What happened to /mhg/? Why is it so unusable lately? I try posting some PC room and a bunch of people start calling it a discord tranny room. What gives?
I do miss single player, but it's been my favourite mode in every game I just can't bare to let it go.
Finding good people is mostly challenging since most people are just playing it for the coins and playing safe, which doesn't help when you're trying to get record clears
>Why is it so unusable lately?
>lately?
It's been this way for, like, four years now.
psfats are bored, nintensharts are jealous and trannycord doesn't want anyone to have fun
I think they implemented it into combat rather smoothly, soon everyone just uses it naturally as part of the combat. I like it a lot.
>Is it annoying?
For random shitters that spam the move, yes. You are not invulnerable at all any time during the clutch (Lance gets free pass), and take huge damage if you try to clutch a monster during an attack.
>Does it make the game too easy?
I don't think so, wounding a monster/dropping ammo seems to be encouraged, and also lets other players know what part to attack if they want to make the hunt faster. It would also help greatly in the long run/endgame if you need a specific part to be broken and the wounding helps.
>Do you feel like you need to use it too much?
There will be moments where the monster does a specific flinch animation that tells the player "please use the clutch claw right now", and then you can use that opportunity to create a wound. You can use it at any point, like I mentioned, I think it just naturally flows in the hunt and helps with DPS shit if you're grinding.
Also webm related for funky shit
that's interesting, it looks just like the re-mount grapple animation
I wasn't a big fan of it, but I didn't play the beta that much. Maybe it's something that you just have to get accustomed to with time like the slinger in general, but with the changes to weakness exploit you'd better hurry up and get used to it.
I’d say it’s engine differences since MH is still on MT Framework while the resort Capcom is moving over to RE Engine, but there’s plenty of good MT Framework ports on PC already. I do think it’s literally just because the MH team has never developed for PC before, DMC5 had the benefit of being directed by Hideaki Itsuno who has done PC releases for many of his games and thus knows what needs to be done for it to be a good port. It’s kind of like how From Software said before the PC release of Dark Souls that they’d never done developed for PC before and that the port was fucking trash, but not quite as extreme.
It's very well implemented, some weapons have it more as a core moveset addition than others. Examples are hammer (which lets you grapple instantly after you finish one of your charge attacks, and does a blanka roll along the way), Lance (which has a new guard counter that latches on with the claw when it lands, and feels very good, especially as a gap closer) and the SnS (which has this uppercut attack from dodge that latches onto a monster).
>Does it make the game easy
Not really, if anything they rebalanced skills so that the game is harder overall, and using clutch claw will revert the difficulty to base monster hunter if you can hit the tenderized area (weakness exploit got huge nerfs, and only gives affinity boost like vanilla when you hit a tenderized zone). Also, landing clutch claw attacks isn't going to be easy when a monster is chimping out at you. It's basically landing a ZSD for SA but a bit faster. How many times have you managed to land a ZSD without getting fucked for it, while the monster is running around?
>Do you feel the need to use it
I reckon you don't have to use it, but it's so easy to use and gives such a significant boost, you probably are going to use it anyway. If you're a TA player especially (provided TA wiki doesn't decide to ban crutch claw tenderizing like it did mantles) you're going to have to use it to get good times from now on.
Here's a video showcasing how fucking good the hammer crutch claw feels:
youtube.com
>everybody assuming it's Garuga
>when we have a Rarity 11 weapon (only for apex and EDs and variants) that branches off at the same level the Velkhana does
It's the Chameleos you dummies
Yeah but one of the materials is a beak, and last time I checked Chameleos doesn’t have one of those.
He stole it.
Well, they took about 6 extra months to bring the game to PC and the resulting product was a complete shitshow for months after release. Whatever excuse they have is a joke, especially in the year twenty-fucking-nineteen.
Both of those weapons start at rare 10, they can't be ED weapons.
I'd fucking love that but I doubt we're getting Chameleos.
Hrs honestly got a better chance than most other Elder Dragons do tbqh.
Chameleos doesn't drop a "beak", and his gems are also purple/pink, not light blue, like wyvern gems that LS uses.
Also, I'd expect an ED upgrade tree to be standalone, and not branch out of a simple metal upgrade line, but then again some of them do, so it doesn't prove anything, just a feeling I have.
Fuck me, I'm gonna have to make a female hunter and grind her up just for this shit.
>Friend says there's this ps2 game that's all about bosses and stuff back in 2007

>crawling on all fours
>Add Zinogre in World
>Don't add his wife
At this point it would be better if Zinogre stayed in the old world.
But then I won't get to see my dude armour. I started a girl hunter a while ago but never got past Anja cause i got bored.
I got a whole bunch of cool Kulve Taroth weapons but I'm not sure if I should even dump materials into augmenting - do you think they're just going to be unviable? How big of a power creep is G rank normally?
>wife
>hidden sleep weapons
>Brachydios?
What the fuck? Who made it? Does he even know who Brachydios is?
The other guesses look kinda plausible for the most part. At least for the monsters who have been confirmed already.
>nintendofag growing up with sister, so we shared out systems
>saw MH at a friend's house, his brother had a PS2 with online and he played shit like that and Resident Evil Outbreak, really cool stuff
>finally get Tri, love it
MHW one of my biggest motivators to get a PS4, actually.
What makes you think those augmenting materials are going to be useful in master rank? Might as well just max that shit for now
It's been ages since the new subs were revealed, why haven't they updated the official site with new renders yet? What are they so busy with? New Dev Diary?
>Khezufags
Kulve taroth weapons are an abomination and I hope they are made permanently obsolete.
Acidic Glav doesn't inflict Para though. At least his tail does, maybe the bite does. Also that'd be exactly the same as Viper Tobi, and there's already a para LS at MR. But then again, Para on that LS is hidden, so might be A.Glav after all. A monster with more pronounced status afflicting abilities, like a para ED, would probably have innately active status property on their weapon. Oh, and that upgrade branch ends at R11, unlike EDs which usually go all the way up tot he max rarity, 12 in IB. So if it's Glavenus weapons, then it looks like subs only go up to R11, even flagships' subs. Variants, which are endgame monsters in IB will probably go up to R12 like EDs.
Whatever man leave my Sleep Hammer alone
His tail afflicts def down, not para, by the looks of things. I reckon acidic glav weapons are going to be top tier weapons with massive purple sharpness
But G elders drop big elder dragon jewels instead of monster specific gems, unless that’s being changed
Ryozo is a big fan of golden equipment. Get ready for Gacha Mommy round 2 in Master Rank where we finally slay her.
>How big of a power creep is G rank normally?
Gigantic
One of the art books mentioned the male version being Kulve Taram, so expect him to show up too.
One of my favourite things to do.
Yeah I know he does def down, they said so at the even panel. But that doesn't mean it his only ability. Like Viper Toby isn't just the "poison sub". It's the dedicated status sub, which inflicts deadly poison with needles, but also has a paralyzing bite. Acidic Glav might also have something up his sleeve (or throat in this case).
He has a decent shot. He wasn't in 4 either while Kushala and Teostra were, but then he got added in 4U.
They already confirmed they will be upgradable because they don't want to waste the time people put into the grind.
So expect the master rank meta to just be the same exact kulve weapons again.
>It's even bigger
Threadly reminder that World isn't a Monster Hunter game
But B-team likes him.
They introduced him in 4U and he was in Gen from the get go
Weapons and armour you got in high rank will not be meta in master rank endgame. Augmenting your armour to unlock the defense cap might make it usable, but almost certainly still worse than the new stuff you'll make. Your streamstones are also likely to become worthless, considering different rarities of weapon require different kinds of stones, r12, r11, and etc weapons will use new streamstones. With that in mind, you might as well use the stones you have to augment your current shit to make early master rank easier, because saving them won't do you any good.
>female monster is Mam Taroth
>male is not [something] Taroth, but Mam Taram
Awkward.
Tell me user, What's your favorite monster?
Shoo back to /mhg/ with you
>B-team
Post discarded.
Preset or custom face? Do you trust yourself with the sliders enough to not make some horribly ugly huntress?
B team didn't do 4U, retard. And he skipped 4 because they reworked him with an entirely unique skeleton. Just carrying that over to Gen afterwards was trivial.
*blocks your FUCKING path*
Start making her ready for World 2, Capcom you niggers
Does Chameleos have a unique skeleton?
Inb4 it inflicts attack down
Hydrophobic sea crocoeel
Leviathans are confirmed for gen 6 so she has a good chance, they need more variety
Yes.
*roars*
*instantly accelerates to light speed and runs in your direction*
It could be that high rank Kulve weapons can be upgraded to G rank, but the G rank versions still drop as normal, so already having the base level gives you some bad luck protection and time saved while not invalidating the new grind
Yes
He's not just a Kushala clone like Teostra or Vaal
He's not that special.
>*toot toot*
>Jho shows up like always
>pop the ghillie mantle and watch as Jho eat Peco for breakfast
Fuck, so he's out of question for World
Why does everyone hate SA? Because people are shitters since it has no evasive/defensive options besides evasion skills?
I never knew how much I wanted this until now
It's basically badGS and badCB as a 2 in 1
The entire siege event is godawful and fucking boring, fighting Kulve is some of the most hilariously fucking stupid shit I've done in this game and an utter slog solo.
You pretty much have to run a premade to even get the kill because of how many people insta-cart the moment she starts spamming her roll attack because shes the size of the goddamn ancient forest.
I just hope that the G rank versions have all new stat distributions instead of just being the same shit again. I don't want master rank glutton.
Can't decide between Nargacuga and the Magala bros
THE most fun fight in the whole series.
>Leviathans are confirmed for gen 6
excuse me?
Those load times will never add to the 4 month "load time" you will have before you even get the game.
BRING HIM BACK
>"but what about their families? what about the kids they have at home?"
You should have answered that you will hunt them too. Monster kids sounds like an easy mini crown to me.
What is your sister's opinion on circumcision and abortion?
Doesn't work like that. When you use the ghillie mantle (or other vanish trick like bushes or smonk bombs), the monster are stuck in "searching" animation and won't fight each other.
It's tedious in single player
delete this post right now ok
>Played the original game at a distant relative's house for about half an hour when it released, was too young and retarded to understand what to do so I just killed Aptonoth over and over
>Later got 3U for free when I bought another game, didn't even get up to Great Jaggi because I couldn't be fucked with gathering quests and I had other games I wanted to play
>Played a MH4/MH4U Lagombi demo at a friend's house, didn't get much time with it and playing the game on 3DS was a nightmare so I didn't get very far there either
>Finally got into the series properly with GU on Switch because my friends asked me to and I'd finally stopped being impatient/retarded by then
I actually got pretty nostalgic when I first stepped into Verdant Hills in GU and realised that it was the same map where I slaughtered those Aptonoth all those years ago. Weird feeling.
>Be in middle school and hear my brother got a new game for the psp

>memorable moment around HR16 building my first undertaker, followed by next week having my save deleted by my asshole brother

>Have a blast online with sick Alatreon/Deviljho armor builds

>E3 2017, my heart when I see MHW announced.
I’m just glad the times it was on Nintendo products (holding it back) are over.
They said they made progress with Lagiacrus skeleton. Also it was not in Iceborne because after they removed it, they designed all the maps in a way which makes him super hard to introduce.
So putting leviathans in the next game will be pretty much the number one priority.
>Lagiacrus without water
What is the point
Easy explanation would have been the monsters are ruining ecosystems or fucking up trade routes and you the hunter are an equalizer.
But if you know the lore youd know black fatalis and the elder dragons entertained the thought of peace with humans and humans fucked everything up by making the equal dragon weapon. Back then humans fought for supremacy and now theyre just fighting to live. Humans did fucked up things but you can hardly account modern civilization for the wrongs of thousands of years ago.
They somehow hinted at water combat in the next game too
>how to spot a worldbab or an illiterate
most of the quests actually justification, monster are rarely hunted for pleasure or personal gain, so stop with this morality bullshit.
What is Ivory Lagi
*actually have justification
Yeah, no. Underwater shit isn't making a return.
You'll get your khezu crocodile and you'll like it.
An overgrown Khezu
If you actually read the quests most of the reasons why you are hunting the monsters are hilariously stupid.
This same Narga would murder Kelbi for food, leaving its children with no mother. Or raid the nearest Kut-Ku nest to steal some eggs for her kitten. Or she could just eat her own children to restore some strength after it gives birth since she will be way too exhausted to hunt. It is wilderness. Once you step into it, you have to obey its laws.
>I was walking in the forest and decided to have a lunch break
>I sat down on a rock, but it turned out to be a monster!
>golly! that gave me a scare, please KILL IT!
Eh, sometimes.
A lot of times the reason for killing the monster is some shit like a fashion designer needing Rajang fur for his dress or a bitch princess who wants to make some fancy object out of the monster.
A miserable little pile of shockers
>a monster spooked my daughter completely by accident the other day
>it didn’t attack her or anything, but we’d all feel a lot safer if you’d fucking KILL IT!
>the reasoning behind hunting Paolumu in World is that it's just too ugly to let it live
Don't need to ask me twice.
>playing MHFU2 for the first time
>quest for "Yian Garuga"
>Lmao another chicken wtf
>What the ever loving fuck is tha-
>Quest rewards decreased, returning to camp
fucking murder turkey
IRL animals are fucking assholes who constantly kill and devour each other. Cutie toxoplasm carriers have no qualms about extinquishing a frog or mouse's life which is as precious as their own. Huge cats people wish to protect from extinction once had no qualms about occasionally eating a human kid. Organic life as a whole is kinda awful, there are fucking plants that kill animals.
TLDR: IRL animals have such bloody karma they deserve the shit that's done to them, and video game mooks aren't even real.
Has there been any talk or possibility of adding new areas to the existing maps?
You guys make it sound like they're trying to backwards engineer rocket science to get Lagiacrus working with the current areas.
Wouldn't it just be a fuckload easier if they just added some fucking sandbar zone near area 1 he can go to and be a huge dumbfuck?
So why can't we hunt Handler?
Well it's true
>life which is as precious as their own
Not all lives are equal.
>making the ancient fucking forest even larger
no god no
There is no story, I'm a fucking worldbab. And a massive shitter who used to play games with cheats until 2008, and still kept unga-bungaing through everything on easymode. Only like 7 or 6 years ago I actually started being thoughtful and strategic, learning the games and their mechanics to better extent. Now I'm trying to get through MHFU and waiting to upgrade for iceborne after 440 hours in world.
Because the Handler hate is an unfunny forced meme.
>Larger
>Implying nearly every fight doesn't start and end in area 1, 11 and 8.
My point is if certain monsters dont work in certain areas, why not just make an area for it.
Making a fucking map is a hundred times easier than the AI animation monstrosities the monsters are.
Unlikely since those changes would apply to owners of the base game as well, and they won’t want to give them too much free shit. There’s nothing stopping them from expanding existing maps in future games though.
>haha what a slow charge, he must be exhausted already
>*Does instant 90 degree turn and pecks the shit out you*
>Has there been any talk or possibility of adding new areas to the existing maps?
No. And I doubt they'd do that. Not in IB at the very least. Maybe in 6th gen which will most likely include some of the 5th gen maps, if not all of them. They did change some of Tri maps in P3rd, but in that case they were cutting the areas, not adding them.
t. Handler
World changes the rules, its literally why they made it, to escape all of their grandfathered in "rules" and "gotta haves"
I genuinely hate the handler in MHW so fucking much. There's nothing meme about it.
>he has a largemapphobia
user... Hoarfrost Reach is going to be as large as Wildspire, Coral Highlands and Recess combined.
That is true for opinions too, and yours is clearly inferior.
Bullshit.
Unless it's one or two massive zones and a small one or two not lots of smaller ones?
>Own a Wii
>Dad clips a video game review from the newspaper
>"user this looks like a game you might like"
>has pic related as the article image
>somehow convinced to buy it
>have no fucking clue what I'm doing
>somehow get through village LR
>no internet for Wii so stuck there
>get a 3DS for pokemon
>find out that there's a new MH game for 3DS
>actually know what I'm doing this time
>get to G rank all on my own because fucking local online only
>still convinced to get 4U after all of this
I have no clue why I bought it in the first place, but thanks dad
well in this instance you'd want a unique area for the monster to inhabit due to it not working in certain areas--wouldn't that mean it would need another area or two to flee to during the hunt? And wouldn't those new areas need the same unique properties and interactions? And wouldn't these new areas need to be populated, and other monster AI be adjusted so that they can go there as well? Looking from the top down this is way more labor than just working on the monsters they KNOW they can plop into existing environments or Hoarfrost Reach
The up down up down is the part that kills me about Ancient Forest. I'm okay with large maps as long as they're not literal mazes. And I'm a pcboy so I don't have to worry about iceborne for a long ass time
I dunno where he heard the Coral Highlands bit, but rumours amongst those who have played the preview builds is that it’s bigger than Wildspire Waste and Elder’s Recess combined at the very least.
I fucking love mazes, and I have pretty good spatial awareness in vidya. Although the Ancient Forest can puzzle even me sometimes.
Hoarfrost seems to have a lot of verticality too, but it seems to be more distinctly divided between areas. First you have the forest, then snowy mountains (with Rotten Vale like caverns under it), then the frozen mountain peaks at its highest point.
I miss him :(
My suggestion was just a sandbar area near the ocean\coastline part of ancient forest. Areas 1, 3 and 4 already have plenty of room, but anything north of that is a no go.
I just don't understand why the devs think Lagi needs to be able to go to the northern parts of the map when his "nest" could just be the area 13.
I hated the Ancient Forest at first, but after you learn the routes it's actually not that bad.
Wildspire Waste>Coral Highlands>Ancient Forest>>>>Rotten Vale>>>>>>>>>>>>Elder's Recess.
Am I the only one who kinda likes Uragaan while everyone else shits on him? He is fun as a monster concept, a Tony Hawk or cartoon mascot wyvern who rolls downhill from a volcano, does sick air stunts and flips, having a shitton of fun in the process. And his armor has great design.
Uragaan's design is fine, problem is that he is boring as hell to fight.
nigga only has like 3 moves. Thats why everyone hates him.
>roll attack forward or in a C shape
>spin and send out bombs
>slam chin
oh and his mega rare extra 4th attack where he crouches down and braps
I absolutely love the weirdness of gen 3 monsters
iirc in an interview, the devs were like, "we want new idea, and Ryozo-san just said "hey how about an excavator?". And thats how we got Barroth the excavator, Uragaan the megawheel, and Agnaktor the industrial drill"
Don't forget that he can fart fire or sleep gas.
well it might be reasonable since I'm a worldkiddie who doesn't know what lagi even does
I just constantly forget how to get to the upper reaches of the map consistently and when I do get on the right path there are 3 or 4 vine-walls to climb. Then if you miss your flash pod rathalos or rathian will fly to another part of the map completely
Its a fun weapon that feels the closest to old school weapons. Now go back to your baby LS, which has a 55iframe counter.
Agreed. I also want an entire weapon category based on Uragaan fighting style. A massive fucking pair of wheels to roll around and run over shit, jump off cliffs drifting, boosting like almost a full on vehicle.
I think Tri struck the best balance between down to earth designs and fun concepts.
The best way the Ancient Forest could be expanded in future games:
Fucking destroy Astera and have it be reclaimed by nature and part of the map. If they bring back underwater, the beach area in zone 4 can be extended out behind the back of Astera, and some caves can run underneath all that and connect to the existing cave areas.
Get a pro, i mean you fucked up you bought the base PS4 you fucked up you got tricked it sucks but you can't stay like this.
I don't see why someone would buy any hardware or software at launch, lesson learned.
>when I do get on the right path there are 3 or 4 vine-walls to climb
Use the wedge beetles, most of those climbing sections have them.
Even on pro the load times take ages compared to the PC.
I firmly believe discovering MH is a personnal and unique experience for everyone.
>Be 16, just treated myself with a PSP
>Gets taken to a boring ass day-long event with no friends and old schmucks I barely know
>Best friends gets invited last minute
>"Hey user, you already tried that monster hunting game? Here, put that spare memory stick in your PSP, I got mine, we can play coop apparently, you just have to do the first quest solo"
>Fall in love with that cool weapon that happens to be a crossbreed between a lance and a tank canon, and comes with a big ass shield
>Collect 10 popo tongues
>Gameplay is clunky but it should do just fine
>Familiarize myself with gathering, discover the magic of creating everything with shit you gather in the field, feels like a perfect mix between short-term survival and long-term gear improvement
>Reach THAT aera of the first quest, friend smirks
>"OH SHIT IT'S A MOTHERFUCKING DRAGON"
>Eventually cart
>We both play and discover the maps, monsters, gathering spots, and what was supposed to be a boring day turned into one of the best gaming experience I had
>Meet each other every day after that and report to each other our daily discoveries and progress before hunting together
MH universe and gameplay really are things I thoroughly enjoyed discovering, and I'm glad as fuck I didn't spoil myself by looking up everything on the Internet.
It was hard to draw this because I couldnt stop laughing.
Great idea
Astera can fucking burn
I love elder's recess. The only issue is that by the endgame you spend 90% of your hunts there and it really starts to get dull. The only monster you're ever gonna fight in the ancient forest in the endgame is like, a kush once in a blue moon and a raths. The only monster you fight in Coral Highlands is kirin and tempered legiana.
Compare that with you having to fight:
Nerg
Teo
Luna
Kush
Behemoth
Uragaan
Azurath
Lavasioth
Mostly or only in the elder's recess.
Meant for A true shame so few games allow for such journey into discovering everything nowadays, it's all agressive handholding now
You could say it's aggressive handling
The only good part of the elder's recess is Teostra's lair because it looks cool and has meteors in the background, everything else is painfully dull
absolutely truth, monhun has that initial clunk that many people can't get past.
but when you do, OHO, when you do
This is the main reason why I hate newbies lusting over meta sets before diving into the fight when the whole game is based on such discoveries
Of course compared to PC but this? That is Base PS4 loading times, i know because i eat my loading times.
That user bought a console at launch, mistake. Let's hope he waits for the PS5 pro next time. Did his parents not give him this advice?
Not him but I would have missed PT if I waited
honestly, the meta sets are only for very niche fights like Extremoth or AT Elders.
I rock a decent crit dmg up/affinity build with the Luna/Xeno DBs, do good damage and never have to sharpen my blades. That's totally fine for 99% of the fights in the game. Meta sets stifle creativity and give people the misconception that they have to play a certain way
I fucking hate teo's lair, the environmental nonsense really gets on my nerves and I honestly think the lava eruptions are rigged for you to walk over them before they trigger. I kind of like the crystalline areas though, they have a very unique look to them.
Honestly my biggest regret is not being able to fight Nerg in wildspire waste like in the beta. That fight was KINO.
On the other hand, tailoring sets for specific fights gets tedious as fuck.
I used to have pretty bad anger issues as a kid, got in all kinds of trouble and fights.
>Back in middle school
>Kid in class wants to play smash melee
>Comes over to my house we play for hours
>I’m a sore loser we go to fists after a few rounds
>Somehow become great friends
>Barely hang out or see each other for a year (strict parents and different classes)
>Both have Wii system so message through that
>Plan to hang out one day
>Shows me a brand new game on his psp
>I see character run up a mountain
>Slaughter some mammoths
>Carve then up
>Deliver their tongues
>Looks fantastic and violent
I came across a PSP a couple months later and the got MHF2. The game made me rage hard when I’d get KO’d. Kezhu almost made me quit playing, but finally after losing so many times my pea brain realized that getting KO’d didn’t cause me physical harm or anything and I could just easily retry instead of breaking shit. That and deep breathing helped calm me down and eventually fixed my anger issues. Been playing monster hunter games ever since.
Thanks MonHun Team.
That's why going meta is retarded most of the time, and only the proof that you're a shitter who can't experiment and think by himself.
I keep getting angry at those Drachen-meta following autists who constantly cart when I'm virtually unkillable and still compete with their damage output with my Vaal/Eyepatch set.
They go watch speedruns that make fights easy and never read the uploaders comment that it took them 300+ attempts to master every movement the monster makes.
>still compete with their damage output with my Vaal/Eyepatch set.
Drachenfag detected
Speedrunners are scum and so are their drones
>the uploaders comment that it took them 300+ attempts
All the new TAutists are elitist kids who never mention that, and like others to believe them to be gods. And then AT Nerg happens.
hes technically right.
Corpses deal no damage and neither do glass cannon memers running in a circle 50 yards away from the monster waiting for an "opening"
>Half-Jap friend shows me his PSP
>He's playing JP version of Freedom2
>Lets me play and teaches me the controls
>Picks a quest for me
>Tells me to go to the area with pink dot
>It's a fucking Rathalos
>Greatsword swings so slow, Rathalos carts me in 3 hits
>friends keks
Bought a PSP a year later then played FU for 1000+ hours
youtube.com
So happy he's back in iceborne. Acidic glav looks sick.
Not him but given how bad some of these shitters are you could out-DPS them 9/10 times with no armour skills whatsoever. Pro builds and setups don’t mean shot if you don’t actually know how to play the game.
Hello, I am the worst elder dragon in the series
>>monhun has that initial clunk that many people can't get past
Truth.
>Got a Tri demo disk from a family member and try it because why not
>Holy shit how many weapons are there? Gunlance sounds cool.
>Each one has a separate moveset?
>Underwater combat??? Managing oxygen sounds scary
>Pick up Greatsword and attempt to do shit.
>Whyisthisbigswordsofuckingslow.png
>Give up soon after and call the game clunky
Wouldn't touch the series again for 8 years.
That's a very small and weird looking Zorah Magdaros you just posted
Thats not Daora
lolno
I have a PS4 pro and the difference between load times on that and my PC is still miles apart.
Maybe it wouldn't be as bad without the deco grind. Once you've got a healthy stockpile of major ones you can be a lot more flexible with your builds, but unless you're on PC it's going to take a lot of time and luck to get there. Even with all the time I've dumped into the game I didn't get jack shit until I started melder sniping and even with that I'm still missing capacity boost, guard up, guard, artillery, focus, pierce shots up, protective polish, etc. And I duped like 300 attack decos before that glitch got patched so I can look really far ahead on the table, it must be really annoying for people who can't.
shut the fuck up retard, it's a fucking videogame
He’s easy as fuck but not bad.
vaal is VERY fashionable and has a cool jazzy theme so I can forgive him for brapping everywhere while forcing me to snarf nullberries
What? Sorry, that's me
His theme is super good.
*huff* Outta my *huff* way
Easily one of the best themes of the entire series imo.
How to spot a newfag
>Friends all play monster hunter, won't shut the fuck up about it
>Get tired of it
>"Will you shut the fuck up about this game if I try it?"
>They say yes and tell me the latest monster hunter is on 3ds
>Fuck that thing is probably coated in dust, whatever
>Buy 4u and start playing it
>"Huh this isn't that bad"
>Continue playing, end up loving it
>Kill Shaggy, see there's still some new quests, think it's probably some itty bitty postgame
>Therealmonsterhunterstartshere.png
Eventually meet the big fucker on the cover Seregios, love at first sight
Long story short after that I got around to play Gen, FU, World and 3U, I got into the series somewhat late and yet I don't know how I lived without it
His music is good but I wouldn't call it jazzy since it's a gothic orchestra
I thought it was going to be a crazy twist that the fungus all over WAS the elder dragon. Like the mushrooms that turn ants into zombies in real life
That would've been interesting, instead here's dot Kushala
But then you've got the other end of the spectrum with players like me who really don't care and make sets purely because they look good.
I'll take sporepuff expert against Radobaan it's fine. At least i'm beautiful.
It starts out like that but quickly veers into jazz influenced territory when the brass ramps up and gets super upbeat for a few moments and I love it

It's the reason why Vaal is powerful, though. Without it he'd just be a regular old dragon.
>doesn't slowly waddle around as cannons fire
Yeah, nah.
He’s still cool, they could’ve made mid a lot better if they had you fight him in more than three zones, like it would be a nice change if he went to the upper regions of the vale too, and also gave him the kulve mechanic of shedding his corpse suite and gaining a lot more speed and power
Vaal's music is great. The general combat music in Vale is really good too desu.
So does that mean all new maps, or just that they would make the skeletons work by next gen.
His corpse suit is the reason why he's powerful though, if anything it would've been great to have you tear off the corpse suit, but then he'd go into his final zone and put on a GIANT corpse suit, like rodobaan but cooler.
And give a reason for Vaal to actually do necromancy shit and have an incorporeal ghost effluvia form after killing its husk? Fuck no, have a neet eel.
I like the tune and instrumentation of the Vale's battle theme but it feels a bit weak. It's like the entire song is the intro and it never actually gets to the main bit.
It's good but it's really awkward most of the time
I'm fighting a giant skinless Gorgonopsid inside an area that is literally a giant corpse and the music that accompanies this is some upbeat parade tune
I actually think he's objectively bad despite being a NEET punching bag. A shitty DoT AoE that can't even be naturally recovered from is lazy and dumb, and his AT version cements it by pushing the tick damage to ridiculous levels AND still letting it be stacked.
He was probably an afterthought like Tzitzi
PS4 is so comfortable though it really is nothing but a fetish item. Playing on console is a fetish you insert the disk into the game box and it starts now if only we could realize this and go back to meaty cartridges instead of flimsy blu-rays. Imagine owning this slab of videogame, like an artifact. Words fail me.
His original design might have been scrapped
They will make the skeleton work for next game, and there will be at least some maps where he can live and fight properly.
>Kill Vaal Hazak
>He pulls a Dracula and is actually alive as mist
>The only thing that can kill him completely is elemental damage
>Has an actually unique moveset now
>Can possess your cats
But no, making elder dragons special and unique isn't what Ryozo wanted, you should just afk farm them all day like some shitty Just ku
He was just a bastardised concept from the first monster hunter about a wyvern that rots your consumables
>held back by Nintendo
>psp
Both. They’ll probably reuse some maps from World but new ones which they plan on using Lagiacrus and other big boy monsters in will actually be designed with them in mind. Ancient Forest they designed as an environment first and arena second, so besides the one alpha zone he’d BTFO Anjanath in he didn’t fit anywhere.
They're bringing apes and crabbos back in 6th gen too right?
I'd love to see Tigrex fucking molest Blangonga
>Not Blangonga catching Tigrex with a lariat and sending them both careening off of a cliff
MHF2 and .hack//G.U. made up most of my late childhood
By my teenage years i've already consumed everything the series has to offer before 3DS came and i just kinda stopped
Emulating made me get into it again thanks to PPSSPP black magic on my phone before World came and now i'm exclusively a Worldbab
>Implying it won't be Rajang breaking that retard's kneecaps
>Not Tigrex and Blangonga fighting then Gammoth takes them both to ram ranch
>We may actually get to see Rajang hunting Kirin in 6th gen
Bros...
I don't dislike him, but the picture really undersold him. If it had been your picture then I wouldn't have questioned buying Tri.
Most likely, I mean monster hunter has like what? 12 general large monster skeletons they base everything off? Give that they finished 3 main ones that 8 left so I could then prioritizing leviathans, monkeys, fanged beast, and frog since those are the other main ones people love, and then everything else including snakes, bugs, crabs is a big maybe
So yea definitely more skeletons but don’t hold you breath for ones that don’t have a large roster like bugs, spiders, and snakes
Leviathans they’ve said will return, and Fanged Beasts are likely too. Carapaceons, Neopterons and Temnocerans are 50/50, they’ve said that they won’t add completely new skeletons unless they have a few different monsters that use it to make the workload and time investment on it worthwhile. Insect skeletons in particular are quite difficult to rig and can’t be used for anything but other insects, which is why they’re low priority for the devs. Also there’s very few monsters using those skeletons already so they’d need at least two original monsters in mind for them in addition to the existing ones for them to decide it’s a worthwhile addition. I want more of all the skeletons added in 4 tbqh, the bugs as well as Snake Wyverns and Amphibians.
It better be some total anime shit on the level of "I outsmarted your outsmarting"
What are the chances of the Old Everwyrm and the new siege monster being the same guy?
Honestly I'm just hoping for a B-Team Switch game. I'm not a big fan of World at all and would prefer something different or a little more traditional.
The everwyrm might not even be a monster
Speaking of, my money is on the Everwyrm being a frozen Dalamadur that encircles/is under/part of the Hoarfrost
youtu.be
Well, there this, but
>MHO
>brings up nintendo for literally no reason
>zinogre started on a non-nintendo mh game
hmmm
Fuck off with these statements. World is more classic than fuckin GenU. Going back to Switch graphics and gameplay is the worst thing they can do
I'm fine with whatever the fuck "traditional" is as long as I don't feel like there's a delay to literally every single input. Made it impossible to go back to 4U or even enjoy the GU demo after experiencing World.
I mean, it appears on the trophy for reaching MR6, so i could bet my money on it being the final boss
I hope not, except for Gogmazios and maybe Dalamadur most giant monster fights are a blunder, the best fighs are always dudes like Alatreon or Amatsu
>Iceborne ends with a primordial virus being freed from the ice after Zorah heating up the hoarfrost reach
>The game ends with all life on the new world being wiped out by the only monster the hunters cannot kill
The final boss is supposedly Ruiner Nergigante tho
Does that mean we’ll be hunting monsters from The Thing in MH6?
except for those shitbyrds in rotten vale that divebomb you, those asshole survive somehow.
That’s for uncapping MR, not the final story boss. Tempered Kirin was the HR uncapping fight in the base game and you probably wouldn’t consider him the final boss.
>Explicitly says he wants it made by the B-team and not replacing World
>Didn't bring up Gen/GU at all
Chill out
Lol I'm just not a fan of the changes they made in World. I love Gen and GenU but I'd like something new as well. I don't want to just play that game forever.
I don't understand why everyone has an aneurysm when I say I don't like World. Chill the fuck out monkeys.
>Been playing as waifu since release.
FEELS
GOOD
MAN
No, Ruiner Nergigante is the quest for uncapping Master Rank in Guiding Lands, which is the new endgame.
What the fuck can a Nerg with even more spikes do that it can't originally?
I love hammer and used to be alright with it, but for some reason any skill has melted away. I used to solo G rank stuff in MH3U (I know that game is supposed to be easier than previous entries). The Tobi whatever squirrel guy fucked me up earlier at the beginning of the game in low rank.
I didn't change my armor but I also didn't expect to get hit. I dunno what I'm doing wrong. I know all the combos and how to move appropriately, it just feels like I can't not get hit sometimes.
Early game always feels way harder than any other part. Is it just me?
It's most likely a Nerg that ate Xeno's corpse so it probably has lasers and shit.
Have different physical moves
Also his spikes might be metallic so maybe it gives hunters tetanus
It reminds me of
>what can Velkhana do with ice that Kush can't already do?
Should've been called Zoner Nergigante
tobi is harder to grug on early game because he likes to jump around, and the tail attacks are surprisingly damaging
just make sure your armor is up to snuff and respect his space when he's mangry.
Tobi is actually a bit of a bastard when you first start out, especially with a weapon with no defensive abilities like hammer.
Orbital strike Nergigante
But Kush controls wind, not ice. Velkhana directly creates ice walls, ice pillars, and cold fog in its attacks. Kush can't do shit that isn't just pushing the hunter away
Fuck that means it'll probably be fucking huge as well.
>Tfw it still has the instant slam
Who else here is part of the master race of /knowinghowtorolltotheright/
>used to browse the nintendo website everyday
>one day there is a micro page for monster hunter
>i see the cinematic trailer
>the idea of a living ecosystem in which i have to survive against dinosaurs sounds amazing
>convice my brother to let me play it on the wii
>have to try pretty hard but manage to kill Great Jaggi
>Barroth makes me drop the game and because i always have to ask my brother if i can play
>get a psp with FU
>play until silverlos i think
>play p3rd where i really felt like a veteran
>when zinogre invades on the first quests slay him
>get a 3ds for 3u where i get walled by G dual brachy
>4u i play until nuclear brachy where i lost interest
>world i finished except some at elders where i dont see the point cause the armors are shit
can't find for iceborne
Fucking Pepega slam is the biggest scrub-filter in World
>sleep over at friend's house in 7th grade
>he has just bought MH3 which just came out, talks about how hard it is and shit
>I decide to buy it, even though I have zero experience with action games
>Pick the hammer since I love whacking shit
>Play it blind, use about 40 minutes killing Qurupeco without even breaking the flints
>Get stuck at Barroth for about a week, finally kill him without even carting once
>Feel that the game & its controls finally click
And from there, it's just a series of great moments. Realizing how armor skills work on my own, beating every monster for the first time, sitting in Loc Lac looking for rooms, MH3 was such a great game to begin with.
I don't understand why they keep Gravios and Basarios coming back. It's one of the worst monsters all games considered and it feels like hitting a wall for 20 minutes.
I'm on MHGU right now and it kinda saddens me that the only monsters included in Ultimate I'm excited to fight are Barroth and Barioth. There's a bunch of elder dragons and deviants, but that's not the same.
MH4U had a better roster despite having less unique monsters. The 3 tigrexes were fun.
So it's not worth to make layered armor with AT tickets? Since all armors can be made in to layered in Iceborne?
It has not been confirmed a s its just all speculation, you should get the layered tickets before the festival goes away
>Pepega slam
>the biggest scrub-filter in World
Pfft. Watch this.
AT Elders are just too much, spend almost all mission time on AT Xeno. Can't even beat Nerg solo or with team.
>check iceborne steam page
>no real date
>planned release date January 2020
>planned
in b4 March release
I got lucky with at nergi twice joining in on SOS, and I'm a total noob with no complete builds. you can do it!
Skip nergi then, Xeno is piss easy with a lbg/HBG with pierce or spread, just so it solo and get the clearmind charm so you don't die to the lava floor
>New siege monster ends up being the same one which remains is Rotten Vale's map
I mean I would be hyped to fight something this absurdly big, but I'd dread the fight being only Zorah-tier "Attack this random spot to kill it"
Do it solo, think of him as your G-rank urgent
Play 4/4U
The word you're looking for is Dalamadur
You fought that monster in 4U, although he wasn't as big as the one in the vale it was still gigantic
Needless to say he was the best giant monster, surpassed only by Gogmazios
Bring back underwater in MH6.
Based
On a different note though that image made me realize how utterly superior monster hunter designs are compared to avarage fantasy one
>Doing code red
>Get two bow users
>They spam the fucking pellets and I can't move
>They still do horrible damage and can't stun a monster
You fight one of those in 4/4U. He’s not as big as that particular one but still by far the largest monster in the series. He’s half a kilometre long IIRC.
PARTY BARREL'D
I think it’s because of their autism in trying to make it look like an animal first and foremost. Even if it can do crazy anime shit they still try and make it look as believable as it can be most of the time. Also Japanese design sensibilities compared to Western design sensibilities.
>try Long Sword in FU for shits and giggles
>make Legendary Fatalis Sickle
>I can now kill G-rank Chameleos in one quest
Now I understand this weapon's popularity.
Have a Frontier size comparison too. Laviente is almost as big as Dalamadur but not quite, so theresyour scale.
>clearmind charm
Does it remove all fire damage? What about burning status?
>pepega slam
IT'S
CALLED
THE SPACE JAM
Only prevents environmental damage, so shit on the floor and efluvia.
>Fell in love with Dark Souls at PC release
>Loved the big weapons shaking my screens
>"Wow, this game on 3DS looks cool, reminds me of Dark Souls"
>Remember I had tried playing tri on wii several years ago and that I wasn't hooked
>Still get into 3U
>Become a hammer bro for life
>Beat LR
>"Wow there's a post game!"
>Learn about Tanzia which has different quests
>Learn there's something after HR
It's the gift that kept giving. Every time I thought I was done with the game, there was something else after what I had done. I still play them as single player games because it's that way I enjoy it the most.
Yeah, they also think about how the monsters actually work so when you have unexplained things like Fatalis or Kushala it's actually special
Lavasioth is fucking HUGE
The majority of non-elder behaviour and abilities is easily explained, even in game they say the Guild is like ??? when it comes to how Elder Dragons do some shit they do
>One of them legit runs into the corner and does nothing when we get to teostra
SoS was a mistake, it has encouraged people to let others get them through the game.
>even in game they say the Guild is like ??? when it comes to how Elder Dragons do some shit they do
That's kind of why I feel the whole elderseal thing is retarded.
Yeah he uses to be massive, for some reason they nerfed his size in World
Yeah it's pretty bad, especially as a game mechanic
I guess they didin't want to think too hard on a gimmick for Nergst weapons unlike for Seregios and Chaotic Gore
The dragons should be all fucking magic and be literally unexplainable, I don't know why Handler was so surprised at the mention of magic when some of the dragons just magically manipulate elements
Lore-wise Elderseal weapons come from actual elders, like Nerg who has high elder seal but no powers himself, so it's his way of balancing the odds or he'd get roasted by a Teostra ezpz.
I think in the lore, there's still like ancient tech the Wyvernians made specifically to contain and kill elder dragons but it's semi-forgotten how it works and the guild locks that shit down like area 51
>only quests left are the rank 8 research ones
Whoever thought grinding like this was a good idea needs to be fired
BUUUUOOOONNNNGGGG
Bug-focused for World 2 please
Nothing in MH uses actual magic, all of that shit is just done through methods beyond current in-universe understanding.
Does prevent Lunasrta aura damage and her air fire thing?
That "roar" is the best thing ever
I can only imagine how fucking scary underwater will be with current graphics, if they go full realism or just have a part of the map where you can't see clearly, this shit may become Subnautica-tier.
>MH6 brings back underwater combat
>Abyssal ocean map filled with creepy monsters and you can't see shit
It wasn't delayed beyond the initial announcement for PC before, it just took forever for them to say when it would be out. I think they still announced the day 3 months in advance though.
Don't think so or you'd be able to goon her so fucking hard. Definitely works on the blue fire pools though, no damage from them
Thing is, elderseal shouldn't be a naturally occurring thing because Elder's aren't a singular species or even a real category, it's just a hodgepodge of monsters that don't really fall anywhere else.
>there's still like ancient tech the Wyvernians made specifically to contain and kill elder dragons
It wasn't so much that they had something like elder seal but just that they had some ridiculously powerful weapons like the Dragonator but in bulk.
So considering Jho weapons have high seal it pretty much confirms that Deviljho can prey on weak elders
I want a subterranean sea full of bioluminescent life, and it features a Ceadeus vs Nakarkos turf war.
>see GameTrailers' review of Freedom Unite despite not having a PSP at the time
>no idea what was happening but they boasted on the sheer amount of content the game had
>months later find out about Tri coming to the Wii
>get the demo disc Gamestop was giving out
>absolutely hated everything about it from the game play to the graphics
>timed out on Qurupeco
>labeled Tri as a terrible game
>best friend gets it and is really enjoying it
>a lot of people on a forum I used to frequent were enjoying it too, sharing stories and information
>ultimately resolve to give it a second chance
>buy the bundle with the Wii classic controller
>start playing it little by little and begin to understand how the game works
>became one of my most played Wii games
>eventually bought a PSP so I could play Freedom Unite and Portable 3rd because Tri's roster was so small in comparison
Now it's one of my favorite franchises period and over the years I've gotten my hands on every game released in the states. I love Monster Hunter and will follow it wherever it goes until the day I die.
Heat Guard and Cool Drinks both reduce Lunastra nova damage
Well, elderseal only affects auras of dragons like Kushala, Vaal and Teo, who are obviously distantly related
For example Kulve is an entire different species and elderseal does absolutely nothing to her
>Underwater Narkakos fight
I’m pretty sure it’s been stated in lore that Deviljho have been recorded numerous times throughout history picking fights with Elder Dragons, but they don’t mention if they ever won. I imagine against young, sick or elderly they may actually win on occasion, but only rarely.
Would actually be terrifying to be honest
>Trench/Abyss map
>the only lightsource is the scoutfly jar on your waist
>can only see a limited distance in front of you
>bosses have bioluminescent body parts and are the only way you can identify them and their attacks
I hope they perfect underwater combat one day
>underwater gathering quest
>collecting bones underwater
>all of a sudden the bone piles start shaking
>the entire ground beneath you moves
>you were harvesting bones off a sleeping Nakarkos the whole time
It's a Frontier mechanic that's 1:1 imported into mainline without consideration for established lore, same goes for Nergigante really.
>Vaal Hazak can surprisingly be found there
>Underwater he has no effluvium so he actually fights you in melee and is actually stronger underwater
I genuinely think they could pull it off with World’s mechanics.
>people are starting to understand how much fucking potential underwater fights can have
If Capcom actually ignore the retards and give them another try, they'll be the most based dev out there
>how utterly superior monster hunter designs are compared to avarage fantasy one
...Until recently, where they started edging closer to generic fantasy designs in the name of western appeal.
Aren't the colorful mizu male tho? We literally don't know what the females look like.
Underwater was always fine, it was just an enormous filter
They just need to refine the controls, add a superman dive and voilà, it's perfect
If it controlled exactly the same as normal but with a third axis of movement I’d be content.
Nice job user
>Abyssal canyon zone
>Everything dark, the surface looks greyish brown
>The only sounds are the hunter's swimming, the rush of the sea currents and the distant roar of monsters
>Every now and then giant bioluminiscent fishes swim over the canyon
>Huge tentacles appear in the borders of the canyon and dissapear
>One of the exists of the canyon is just a huge drop into the blackness that extends for kilometers
There's no good reason for every weapon that's not Lance or Gun to be so gimped underwater
needs a tiny sniffing hunter in the corner enjoying himself way too much
Hammer was ok underwater
Pretty sure they don't. I tested it and didn't notice any effect. At least any significant effect. Which is a fucking shame, since it's like the only time Heat Guard could've been useful.
It DOES negate the Teo aura damage though, so you can stay up close and don't take any red health damage.
Nah, can't possibly be March.
It was initially slated for a winter release, meaning could have been anytime from January to February. But now they've narrowed it to January, meaning they have a better estimate than before. Unless something serious happens, the release date can only move closer now.

Are you retarded? Is this bait?
If anything is the contrary, most complains about gen 5 monsters came from people saying that they were far too realistic and not "monster-y" enough compared to the ones previous gens
I break it every time and never get it
Same shit, never a goddamn spike in a triple gold box investigation

I don't mean it's guaranteed, but you have a chance too.
That's like Vaal fangs, which you only get 1/10 times from a head break when you need them.

Eh, Listfag is a little more aggressive.
Don't remember the 4u intro where Gore gives Tigrex a loving friendly tap?

You're doubly alright in my book.
Now, help me confirm something if you played 4/4U. When mounting mechanics are explained, is it clear? From my perception, it looks like the awful translation made it look like "Mash attack to bring it down" instead of "Hold down to the monster and attack only when there is an opportunity"
I refuse to believe frogs are so criminally incompetent on purpose when it comes to mounting.
Oh no
Not this fuck
I pray every day of my life to bring back his armor set

I think the only in game explanation is from Guildmarm on the first Great Jaggi hunt, so if you go straight into online you'd never see it

I feel sorry for console players who have to play the game with basically no colors
Almost only 1 month for the launch, when the review copies will be out? I have hopes for someone like that strange guy of last year leaking shit (all maps, monsters, endgame boss etc)

I miss the assless legs in FU
It turns into the frontier white Fatalis
In MHW which is the most

I hope you're aware there's more to art than cranking up the saturation.
Unironically true
>Insect glaive
You have to know what specific zones on each monster to get all colors, come the fuck on.
With Dual Blades you just enable Nuaruto mode and dance around monster while he dies.
What is there to World being as washed out as it is?
Iceborne will bring glorious 4u AED CB back
Bow
CB
Funlance
>You have to know what specific zones on each monster to get all colors
Easy as pie. With the dual blades you still need to know positioning, you can't just fly around.
AED > SAED to be honest
Positioning applies to every weapon though
>you can't just fly around
Ah so you know shit about IG, makes seance.
(doubt)
Nothing, it's not a decision I agree with. The art style is still better in every other area than color.
Man, I really liked the shitter monsters in World. Elder dragon endgame almost makes me forget the game has some good designs. I hope there's a reason to fight their subspecies beyond getting the weapons and armor.
Speedrunning trannies already proved it, if takes way longer to kill the monster If you just spam SAED like a troglodyte
yep, it was fun seeing people trying to deny the bazel leak calling it a painting.
Bow
Insect Glaive
Hammer
That was straight up autism. I can’t believe people thought that. Funny though.
I hope someone makes a painting for IB
That's not Daora or Zorah
To be fair I'm pretty sure it was tampered with in Photoshop, it wasn't just a screenshot
Yes I do. You don't need to think about where you're moving with the insect glaive, just click and hop over everything.
Are you sure about that? The textures are muddy. The particle effects are obnoxiously overdone to the point where they slow down the game considerably. The entire game was designed with the blurry Vaseline filter of TAA in mind which is why it looks so hideous every time you stop moving the camera (Nergi's lair is a good example of this). There are many more issues with the aesthetics of the game besides the grey color palette in an otherwise very colorful franchise.
Don't reply to listfag.
Yes and it's still better than whatever MH that pic is from.
Anyway, do someone remember how early the sandfrog got his copy? I just need to know the fucking roster.
There isn't much to learn about where to get extracts with glaive. Red comes from where they attack (head, sometimes forearms), White comes from how they move (legs or wings), Orange comes from their body (and rarely the tail). It's my main weapon because I just like polearms, but it isn't very complex. Once you've got juice, just make your bug auto-attack and spam tornado slash. It's a bit more brainless than usual in world because good element and status glaives aren't common, so you just pick the one with the biggest number and use the combo with the best MV like other raw weapons except without any of the thought, special mechanics, or commitments some of those weapons have once you've got your buffs.
Aerial attacks with IG do low damage and hit shit hitzones, on top of restricted movement against anything that has the ability to swat you out of the air. You CAN just spam jump attacks, in the same way you can just spam basic uncharged overhead slashes with GS and eventually kill the monster, but that's not how either weapon is played.
I was doing well against Nerg until he retreats to his closed-off crystal palace. Does his attack patterns change?
I just want elaborate dress armor
teo/luna armor already let me down so much
more like slagiana hah get it
There are too many "dress" armors as it is. We need more cool mecha armor designs for girls.
Sandfrog got shot down by Capcom snipers for his sheer determination to stream early, he won't be getting any copies..
We need female armors with complete facemasks so I can furiously masturbate
Aside from him taking the time out to bodyslam the barriers, I don't recall a moveset change, is this regular tempered or AT?
fuck...
How's that gonna stop him? His friend Ahmed wo owns a small vidya shop is just going to sell him another copy under the counter early again.
>isn't much to learn about
My point stands, still not easiest weapon to use, you still have to juice up and use your moth were in DB you just attack and doesn't bother with any of this.
He becomes more aggressive and does the dive more often after he reaches certain health threshold (does the wing flap and roars, but that usually happens much earlier than the crystal lair). Also his damage constantly keeps going up as his health goes down.
Not quite, he gets spikes faster at lower HP and he does extra damage as long as he has spikes
No. He literally gets a stacking damage multiplier at lower health/with every roar. Attacks with spikes are a separate thing. Regular Nerg does too.
You can see that at the first phase some people can survive eating a black spike dive bomb, but it becomes a guaranteed oneshot no matter the def as the fight goes on.
>Young Brachydios will live near their parents and their territory, yet the adults will not show any parental care at all. The young will pick up slime mold left behind by adults. However, this can be dangerous as their hides are underdeveloped and can possibly be seriously injured or even killed by the explosions of the slime mold.

Fuck off with your console war baiting.
Kulu Garuga would be so much better than just bringing back Yian Garuga, I hope it's true

i just realize that the brach in pic relate might be trying to kill itself by repeated blasting of slime to his head
I hope you delete the thread you made, user. Poor form.
If it was Kulu Garuga, the weapon would be branching off of the Kulu tree or at least the Bone tree and not Iron
>Oh shit, what was his name uuuhhhh....Billy's dead because of my explosions

Instead of one rock he carries three and juggles them, and has a zero frame attack where he throws them at you.

And that's the start of it become my favorite series. I am very scared about how the series will progress from World, if it'll descend into bland mass appeal hell or keep its unique style since in my opinion it's teetering at the edge of the slope. And we all know how slopes are.
What am I not understanding about that giant golden dinosaur encounter?
I shot him in the face with cannons and buggered his tail real good but he still won't engage me. Then time runs out and everyone says 'good job'.
My only problem with slopes is that the slide is automatic instead of being a button press while moving down
Most of the weapons I use can't slide while unsheathed though so whatever
You need to do enough damage to progress to the next room. Don't do it solo unless you really know what you're doing, she always has multiplayer HP
I play GS and have a near 100% success rate of being able to release the charge button while sliding at the exact pixel the slope ends.
So instead of going into the slide attack, I just go into the regular draw swing.
It's infuriating.
by the time you will load up IB on console even PC playes will have it
[muffle proof of a hero in the distance]
Ahaha so funny ahaha fuck console peasants slow load times oh god oh god my mom will kill me i need iceborne on pc now she will make me leave the house before january oh god oh fuck
Using Slinger to quickly propel yourself underwater seems like an interesting idea
Also IBs Clutch Claw might be useful too for underwater combat
IB is making me extremely nervous
The returning monster still keep their power and speedincluding Tigrex’s janky hitbox, weebGlav is cool as fuck, the other subs are just your usual sub spiel, and the hub + map is absolutely beautiful and comfy. But then they give you free gap closer with the hook, more pseudo-mounting shits, the moveset is bloated even more
Its like they are dancing on the edge with all the 2 step up 1 step down
Pls dont fuck with my heart like this capcom. Ive spent an ungodly amount of money to follow this moody series that hop console like a KH-wanabe
You need to raise the "pursuit level" to drastically reduce her HP and partbreak thresholds.
You do so by sniffing tracks, breaking parts (which is hard at Pursuit 1), dropping rocks on her, picking up shinies and gold piles.
P1 can only be attempted with a well-coordinated team.
P2 is enough if you're just a bunch of individually skilled hunters.
P3 is okay for the average players.
P4 is required by "special" players only.
P5 is enough for soloing if you're good.
P6 is for living failures who managed to fuck up on P3-P5.
I see. Thanks, mate. Sucks that you can't S.O.S. on her but I'll figure it out.
>I am very scared about how the series will progress from World, if it'll descend into bland mass appeal hell or keep its unique style since in my opinion it's teetering at the edge of the slope.
I felt like this as soon as I saw that the tribal UI was gone.
>But then they give you free gap closer with the hook, more pseudo-mounting shits, the moveset is bloated even more
The clutch claw is only a gap closer for the two weapons that can use it after a defensive maneuvers. For all other weapons it's effectively got the range of a long forward evade, which isn't much of a cap closer at all.
Also can you point out what move makes the movesets feel bloated?
>you can't S.O.S.
The fight was designed to be taken on by a full 16 player lobby. Everyone in the same lobby doing the Gold Mommy contributes to the Pursuit Level progress.
So i guess you could say they follow the RULES OF NATURE
She's so cool.
The peak lazy and simple way to do it is
>Round 1, fight her and sniff feet until she goes to Room 3, then run around Room 1 and 2 sniffing and gathering until she leaves
>Round 2, break a shitton of parts to trigger her Fury in the last room and then break her horns for real
You can break her coating and chip her horns before the last room but damage to the horns after that doesn't count until her coat comes off
>open helm
>exposed thighs
Basically how KT works that you have a pursuit level that determines how much HP KT has and how much time you have to do it. Higher pursuit level means that HT has less HP and the you have more time. This pursuit level is shared by all the groups in the lobby.
When you join ATKT lobby ask what type of lobby it is. Usually people will respond with either P1 or butt sniff.
If it's P1 lobby you really need to know what to do since the idea is to complete the whole hunt in one run.
If it's a butt sniff lobby it means that during the first run you don't do anything to KT, you just follow her around collecting stuff she drops. If you start attacking KT during the butt sniff run you will fuck the whole thing up. Butt sniffing will raise your pursuit level without any risks and then usually on the second run you go for the kill.
It is also important to communicate when you are doing the kill run because if one group in the lobby clears the hunt the lobby will be marked cleared and all groups will get rewards, but to get good rewards your group has to clear the KT on the same run as the first group does it.
>have to wait until they get around to fixing the Leviathan skeleton before he has a chance to be in
The fact they gave Lavasioth a worse version of his gimmick is salt on the wound
Clutch claw related moves, new Iai slash of LS is what on top of my head
Granted its not THAT big of a deal, it just feel like they are making the moves flowchart much, much more complex. Like, take LS for example again. The fade slash was a combo finisher in 2nd gen, get left-right fade slash in 3rd (well, sensible), then a forward slash in 4th, then in 5th gen it gets the evasion variant, and then now its Iai
It might be good, it might be bad for the series in the future. Personally i dont really like it, cause ive always treated the game as a more sensible and calculated game, not a aggressive, combo oriented game
when joining a session use the filter and search for kulve only sessions, otherwise you're are gonna be the only one trying to do the hunt
>implying rando lobbies has ANY kind of strategic approach to farming KT
They just randomly spam the siege quest and keep hitting her with everything they got, disregarding pursuit level or part breaks.
That is IF they're even doing KT in a KT lobby at all. Usually half fucks off to do SOS, or investigations, or whatever.
Oh and about gap closer, its this
The LS changes baffle me, it's not like the weapon's moveset was not well rounded to begin with, but they decided to add ANOTHER counter to its movelist. It's very odd.
Other weapons that get the crutch claw moves feel pretty good and fit in with the weapon's style, doesn't feel like bloat, more like an optional new thing that with time you'll get a sense of when to use it. Kind of like how you don't always wanna do the roundhouse slash or the helm splitter for LS.
I explained my thoughts more elaborately here. I think every move addition seems to have some use, and it varies from essential and fantastic (like the HH changes) to clunky as fuck (like the bow slinger attack) but none of them feel "bloated" imo.
What the fuck is going on in Hunter X Hunter?
>find out FU for psp, amazing images, excited about killing big bad monsters
>pick GS because wannabe cloud
>unironically "why so slow"
>keep dying
>drop
>decide grow some balls and actually do the tutorial
>fall in love with SnS but choose LS because disgusting weeb at the time
I replayed FU some times ago and call it nostalgia but the game still have a great feel to it beside the shitty hitboxes
I'm glad you can't S.O.S her, it's the only hunt in the game which is reminiscent of old hunting lobbies.
I thought that was Junji ito
That womans face looks nothing like his faces.
That's obviously Franken Fran.
Good points
Maybe im just a bit resistant to changes. I guess once i play IB i would come to like it
And seriously, people can meme about hammerlover Ryozo as much as they can, but gen 4 onward really show that they want to push the LS, with more combochain, then the monster that is brave LS, then this
The current arc is genuinely interesting and well written, but because Togashi is both lazy and an autist who refuses to let anyone else draw it despite having six assistants we only get a volume a year.
I wanted to buy the physical volumes but the covers kind of make me apprehensive about it. Sure there’s plenty of sexual shit in the series but these covers really oversell it and I don’t want the people I live with thinking I’m some pervert.
Franken Fran collab where you fight the whale lady or the human dogs for layered waifu armour when?
