these are literally in every fucking game that even remotely lets players use pugilism though.
Mind mentioning some pretty boy?
I know the souls have them, and they are pretty fun to use in DaS 2
>Way of the Samurai games
>Final Fantasy XIV (you know, the game everyone has been spamming threads over for the past year)
>Fallout 3, New Vegas, 4
>Tenchu 3 Return from Darkness
>Persona 5
Do you want me to keep going or are you through the humiliation?
What are some games that let me use these beauts?
those don't look anything like katars though.

Path of Exile
Rose online, but unfortunately they are really low level weapons.
That can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. Use it early on, but have to drop them once you get to the higher level weapon.

Can't find a decent screenshot right now, but they looked very good.
Most knuckle designs looked crazy good in this game.
well the weapon tree i think is called katars in the game it self I believe.
I hope From's next soulslike is based on the aztecs/mayans. Can you imagine those takes on macuahuitls, quetzalcoatl, the ziggurats, the jaguars, all the obsidian everywhere... would be absolute ludo.
The short spear
Not only is it the most diverse weapon, you can easily hold 3-4 on your person at a time.
Diablo 2
>well the weapon tree i think is called katars in the game it self I believe.
ok, my next question is: what game?
It makes sense if they have it as a group of weapons, but I think of more traditional push daggers when I hear "katar." Heck, the energy sword from halo more resembles a katar than that in the OP image, at least from my perspective.
FFXIV but theyre low level weapons for just 1 tank class that uses a sword and shield
>Fist weapons are the same as katars
Dumb brainlet poster
gun
>moving the goalposts this hard
A fucking deathclaw gauntlet is basically a katar, fuck off and die faggot
Yeah exactly its probably an umbrella term they use in the game for most of the weapons.
Cause the example I posted is called raven knuckles
The game is called Rose Online: Rush on seven episodes. Very comfy mmo back in my higschool days.
The thief class could use dual swords / katars or bows.
Voldo from Soul Caliber basically uses a variation of these.
Here's a thing, how viable could a katar / claw type weapon be up against a sword user? Imagine a duel of people on equal footing and experience with their weapons.
Say a person using a claymore two handed vs someone using voldo like katars claws?
beamguns
Exteel had orgasmic beam guns, orgasmic everything really, mech design, sword design, and what not.
How many times have you seen these in vidya?
A switch blade sword thing.
borderlands tps
Here's one.
Rocket spears, I haven't seen many rocket spears in vidya.
Ninja Gaiden 2 had one of these and it had feet variations too, which were fucking great.
Sin & Punishment 1 and 2
Incendiary shotguns need more love, you guys rememeber the fully upgraded shotgun in blood dragon? That shit could wipe out a entire squad of people.
Very interesting
did people even play that game?
yooooooooo i was high af last week with my boys and thought about exactly this!!! it would be dope!!!
It's uderused but that's more a symptom of mesoamerican stuff in general being underused.
Relative to other Aztec weapons speffically, not even just mesoamerican ones as a whole, the macuahuitl is absolutely overused, nobody ever talks about almost equivalently ubiquitous Tepoztopilli or Atlatl, to say nothing of the glaive like weapons or the types of clubs and maces like the cuaholloli or the various weapons used by other Mesoamerican civilizations like the Maya and Mixtec I don't even know the names oc.
Pic related is from an exhibit on Mixtec weaponry from a year ago, sadly I can'y fgind many photos of the exhibit or info about it
Oh bother.
If anyone wants to filter the indian spammer, here are some image hashes that should take the brunt of it. pastebin.com
Imagine being this much of a pathetic loser that you follow me around Yea Forums and spam your hashlist even when my posts are totally on topic.
Flails
Bonus points if it's a flail at the end of a long stick
Extra bonus points if there are flails at both ends of the stick, like in Ninja Gaiden 2
Honestly, the katar user would almost certainly get their ass killed unless the swordsman was so weak he had trouble swinging his sword or something like that.
It's about range. That's why spear users shit on sword users in real life and why the spear was the main weapon in ancient and medieval warfare.
A lot of people think the sword was because of how it's portrayed in media, but the sword was basically a sidearm like a pistol, while the spear was your rifle.
I'm no expert, but I've looked into ancient and medieval combat enough to know this, it's pretty much common sense if you think about it too, once again, range.
One could argue
>but what about something like boxing and reach? A boxer with a short reach can beat a guy with a longer reach if he can get in close
He'll probably take a blow, maybe not a powerful one, before getting in and that's just a testament to his endurance as a boxer for being able to handle that. Even if he doesn't, that just proves that he was a much faster, and all around better boxer than the other guy.
With weapons like swords and spears, you can't take any blows or your dead. Or you're incapacitated, and then shortly afterwards dead when your opponent decides to finish you off.
And yes, if the sword user can actually get in the spear users range he can win, but that's not going to happen against any competent spearman.
Thanks.
Then get a fucking trip, you attention whore. Do you really think I would have bothered otherwise?
anytime, mate.
lol? Who the fuck is the Indian spammer guy? Does he just post these weapons constantly?
now isn't this a nugget
Nah, bombs any thread related to indians. Pretty broad definition of related, as you can see. He's a man on a mission, there ain't no bait he won't bite, and so he's spent the past half year spamming every thread he ever entered to death. Just don't say the term "stone age" around him and nobody gets hurt.
Here's one example. Check the OP, for what he considers related, before noting how he spams the thread as retaliation for being called a spammer. Not the the brightest bulb.
thy nugga
Falcon talons were fun as hell.
Jesus Christ, this is hilarious. Thank you.
One of many examples. Checked the archives for a bit to put that list together, and you can just straight-up search "aztec" or "mesoamerica" on all boards and it's 90% just him going at it. Dude's fucking nuts.
Seems pretty autistic, not the most autistic I've seen though.
Derrida from /r9k/ was pretty autistic. He'd go on huge rants against women, easily the most autistic misogynist I've seen.
The most autistic poster was from Yea Forums though. He who wrote a 100 page book full of quotes, poems, short stories, and general adoration about some shitposting tripfag he liked.
Man, I wish my link to his book still worked.
One of the weakest enemies in Darkest Dungeon uses them
DUDE
Yeah, when you were talking about "not the most autistic", I started typing out that even Sybb(samus ass spam) is fairly normal compared to that one tripfag stalker. That's downright spooky.
It's one of the funniest things I've seen on this site, and I love that it became cross board knowledge. Part of me still believes it was just a joke, but even so it was weird as fuck. Way too much effort.
it's so fucking bizarre there's just no words for it
