yeah, im not actually bad at the game. i come top 3 in most of my races, but never first. The guy in first crosses the finish line 30 seconds before everyone else.
I really like the game. Its super fun to chain boosts and the art design is stellar, but the game has a lot of faults. The loading times are just too much. If i just want to have a few races it's

what are you on about? it's one of the best looking games on switch, as long as you play it undocked. solid 30fps. all the visual effects are still there, it just has a lower resolution than the ps4bone.
docked looks like my asshole on a 4k display, but on a 720 or 1080 tv it looks fine.

I’ve been playing since before the twilight update.

Deleted second day after update mostly due to the handling changes for speed and accel also I’m pissed off how no one else seems to be noticing accel and turn are slow as fuck in a straight line now and speed destroys everything.

I could go in all day but the games class balance has been completely destroyed, the weapon chaos is only hiding it, speed wasn’t completely OP before and different classes were good on different tracks.

online is fucking unplayable at the moment. 5 Clocks and 3 warps in one race. fuck thst shit.

yeah, nah, im well aware of that. i did the backwards driving on coco park time trial. that stuff is fine. uninspired and dull, but fine.
there are quite a lot of online challenges that are just ridiculous though. one of the online challenges is to come 1st while starting the last lap in last place. good fucking luck doing that.
and so many challenges are for battlw mode. no one plays that. i dont want to play it, even offline. capture the flag is gay as dicks. even a bog standard [finish 10 races] challenge would be better than [play shitty battle mode 5 rimes]

There should be some cooldown timer that prevents quitters from becoming hosts for a while.

Why is online so bad in this game? Single player is completely skill based but online is100% RNG. If you’re on a USF track and you get hit by an item (completely out of your control) then you lose by default. If you’re in first and get good items you win by default. Neither of these experiences are fun.

I’m still enjoying it but making online practically required to get anything without years of grinding is a massive misstep. I get that they want people to play the game for ages and not just unlock everything in the first week and never touch it again, but st least give single player some way of getting coins that won’t take thousands of hours of grinding to get everything. The original was still played right up to the release of this remake, there’s no need to funnel everyone online like they’re afraid single player won’t have longevity.

Why is there grinding period in a simple kart racer? The rewards this time do suck and the whole baby theme is lackluster. I doubt ND intended for some company like Activision to turn one of their best games into a MTX cosmetic filled grind fest with nerfed rates for said cosmetics.

Alternatively, if you've got an orb on you and you get clocked the orb hitting you also removes the debuff. I disagree on the clock. The uka/aku animation to get back on track is pretty long, and while you're clocked you can build reserves, even USF (and the slow speed helps chaining perfects without going out of bounds)
