best one in a while, nothing will top Marvel 3s last year though

Some GOOD ASS TEKKEN

Smash grand finals will have more viewers than all the others did, and in the middle of the night even. Cope.

Tekken was awesome. Full of emotion.
SFV had a meh Top 8, but the finals were really good.

Smash is literally the only game that matters lol

Cope fucker, Smash finals will have 300k and you will eternally seethe for the rest of the year. And you fucking know it to which is why you made this dumb thread

Attached: 1551126155116.png (1603x841, 600K)

Nah. Being the last game is a detriment.

What was the Arcsys annoucement?

Sunday was underwhelming, the best top 8 were had in Friday and Saturday from SC6 and DBFZ

I dont even watch "esports" and I'm tuning in for Smash.
Cope.

Going right now.

there wasn't one yet

Hey sorry anons, we're talking about fighting games.

I think you're looking for:

no, evo is over now. there's nothing else to see

2017>2016>2019>2018 is the correct ranking order

You fight each other in Smash. It’s a fighting game.

New Guilty Gear

2019 fgc
add random black guys ok

New Guilty Gear, Season 2 for SCVI with Haohmaru guest-starring from SamSho, Season 3 of Tekken with Zafina and a black guy being added.

I enjoyed Samurai Shodown, Blazblue, Street Fighter, and Tekken. Can't ask for much more than that really.

Blaz Blue Cross Tag 2.0, got Yumi (Senran Kagura), some guy from another game and another RBWY representative. You can look the trailer up on youtube.
Also new UNIEL[st].

King of Fighters XV was announced, but nothing was shown.

Take a shower.

hello kappafags. still coping that a party game is in your sacred yearly tourney?

>all new Guilty Gear
OH BOY I CAN'T WAIT FOR A 10 CHARACTER STARTING ROSTER

tekken is so fucking bad

I wish SFV wasn't a piece of shit, tekken being the "new face" of the FGC is honestly disgusting. that game is pure ass.

SamSho S1 added Shizumaru for free and Mina is the first character of S2, KoF XV announced

>you fight people in tf2. it's a fighting game

Holy shit dude then every game that pits you against a single opponent is a fighting game
Retard.

the fuck are you guys talking about? the closing ceremony just happened a couple minutes ago.

do we have a trailer for the new guilty gear?

>new uniel

pretty cool

is it still 3d models?

user it's 2019 of course it's still 3d models

t.mike ross
but i do agree. people bitch and whine about animu games for putting people in 50/50s but that is tekken in a nutshell but everyone thinks is a super deep game because you gotta remember frame data.

Fgc isn't part of esports anyway.

Don't worry, we'll also be sure to cut out the fan favorites so we can add them years later or not at all!

Was alright. Tekken is always good, DBFZ finals were crazy, side tourneys weren't as good this year.
I really miss the SF4 days though.

Best one in a while, not focusing too much on Shit Fighter V was the best thing they ever did.

And putting all the real games earlier makes the world go sleep early.

Pretty disappointing with the character announcements for Tekken. Was expecting /ourguy/ Kiryu to show up. Although I'm still not sure what's gonna happen with that MGS teaser thing.

Could just be bait but who knows.

5/10

>I really miss the SF4 days though.
don't we all

The trailer didn't show much. Basically the two main dudes fighting each other and then revealing a black two-sword samurai guy that has some mech helmet.

But what about the snake codec call?

Black samurai guy did look sick though

I liked samsho a lot more than I expected. Can't wait to buy it on PC so I can get my shit wrecked by console players for a week before it dies.

Harada is trying out a new tactic of "leaking" things that are more interesting than anything he actually has to announce

League has a lot of viewers too and it's complete shit.

better than last year for sure

Cons:
-No Melee

Pros:
-Hypeass DBFZ grand finals
-Gief in top 8 SFV
-Tekken
-neat reveals
-SAMSHO bringing back the USFIV days of EVO

One of the best in recent memory outside of Melee missing.

Pretty good.
Samurai Shodown carried it, mostly.

Was Samsho the Top 8 with most former EVO winners?

>no melee
>side tourneys were entertaining
>Soul Caliber top 8 was hype all throughout
>UNIST getting the attention it deserve
>GO1 won DBZ
>Infiltration redemption arc and making roasties on twitter seethe
>America winning anime
>Bonchan winning SFV
>good ass tekken
Only sour spot was MK11, but everything else was pretty damn good.

Yeah 7/8 won an EVO before

any interesting characters like browser playing? or is it just the op anime characters. wario was cool

Favorite EVO moments in general? This guy was having fun in UNIST even if he got washed and was just a meme man. I liked seeing Tsuyoshi on DBFZ flexing his strength too.

Attached: It's time.png (837x470, 524K)

No, that's a 3rd person shooter.

SonicFox's reaction when he lost DBZF was the pinnacle of sportsmanship

You're the retard, you compete in many games, be it shooting, racing, puzzles, etc, but in smash is fighting.

SO FAR it's probably one of the best tournaments ever, plus one of the better organized ones in time.
It's funny though that being mainly sponsored by PS4 made plenty of reveals get leaked weirdly.
Almost all of the tournaments had some cool shit, or minimum they had some hype.
All the Top 8 finals (except for MK11) were great.
DBFz is still awesome to watch.
Tekken 7 was clutch incarnate.
SC6 was a welcome surprise.
UNIST needs a better speed.
Now let's see how Ultimate fares.

Attached: 1480422996874.jpg (300x316, 21K)

zero second match in samsho.

>Every Top 8 good except MK (and NRS games always suck)
>Tons of great side tournaments from AnimEVO
>GO1 put on two incredible matches in Winners and Grand Finals of DBFZ
>Top 3 of SCVI and T7 being the shit
>BBTag being surprisingly fun in Top 8
>Valle getting 5th in SamSho
>Paul in Tekken Top 3
>Smash okay so far, but shit commentators
Favorite side tournies were Project Justice, Sailor Moon S, Hokuto no Ken, Ultra Fight Da Kyanta 2, KOFXIV, TvC (Batsu won), & UMvC3 (Ghost Rider/Arthur/Haggar in Grand Finals, based Sacktap).

Only negatives are UNIST Top 8 having no truly hype moments and Karin winning SFV (but Bonchan deserved it so I can forgive it).

Attached: 1564775097371.png (652x884, 679K)

youtube.com/watch?v=vAJUvy4ibeA

jap commentators are pretty alright I think

t. non-smasher

I wish I could remember more individual moments from side tournies and pools but I was watching so much it began to blend, but I do remember your pic's guy.

The Shanks Spain Squad was cool though, as was Hirohiro making 5th with fucking A17.

Is Dark Souls a fighting game if it's fists only?

How do we feel about the reveals?
>Honda/Lucia/Poison for SFV
>Zafina/Leeroy and other stuff for T7 S3 (along with a weird tease for Snake?)
>Janemba for DBFZ (with Gogeta tease)
>Cassandra & Haohmaru for SCVI S1&2
>Shizumaru & Mina for SamSho S1&2
>Akatsuki & Blitztank (Blitzkampf), Yumi (Senran), Neo (RWBY), etc. for BBTag 2.0
>UNICLR with the ice guy
>Granblue Vs has a beat-em-up style Story mode
>King of Fighters XV
>new Guilty Gear with even better visuals and black Jetstream Sam

Attached: 1564416769145.gif (143x218, 53K)

Ad break out of 10

And Smash is a party game.

Honestly always wanted to get into fightan gaems but never bothered cause the only people playing anymore are the same peeps who picked it up. But new UNIST and GG might just be the time to get in.

Attached: 3xjun88t0e721.jpg (640x851, 49K)

I think Arcsys is stretched too thin and that means GG will probably have a small roster too or be a bad game.
GBFV RPG mode would've been cool if it didn't steal resources from the main game and leave us with 11 character launch list.
KOF fucking sucks so it's worthless.
UNCL-R won't be relevant for a while because arcade run.
Shoulda been SF6 with a new producer and director.
At least we all got to go to bed on time and avoid the plague.

t.Briget fag

Personal highlights

>Zafina/Leeroy and other stuff for T7 S3 (along with a weird tease for Snake?)
>Cassandra & Haohmaru for SCVI S1&2
>Akatsuki & Blitztank (Blitzkampf), Yumi (Senran), Neo (RWBY), etc. for BBTag 2.0
>new Guilty Gear with even better visuals and black Jetstream Sam

everything else was ok cool i guess

>Honda/Lucia/Poison for SFV
6/10, and be it only for Honda. Never liked Poison and the tactical police gear makes Lucia look a bit generic.
>Zafina/Leeroy and other stuff for T7 S3 (along with a weird tease for Snake?)
8/10. Improvements outside of character reveals are long overdue. Zafina looks super lovely, even though I probably won't end up playing her, and Leroy might be actual main or pocket material at the very least.

Didn't care about the rest.

2004>2017>2016>2019>2018

infiltration 00 timer scam
that eltnum player making it to top 8 with the crowd cheering reload every combo

Street Fighter is 7/10, I like the characters but I was expecting something more extensive given the wait.

SNK/Samsho is honestly 10/10 they knocked it out of the park.

DBZF is a 3/10, nothing unexpected or interesting.

Arcsys is 7/10, glad Cross Tag is still getting support and I hope the new Guilty Gear is good. New Under Night is expected but good.

Namco was a 5/10 for me, not that hyped for any of the character reveals but good to know both games will continue to get support.

H-how can it be over if we didn't get a Smash reveal? This was going to be the year that Nintendo suddenly started making Smash announcements at EVO! I knew this because of their history of not doing that, which proved they would do that!

They had a reveal last year fag

Who did they reveal?

A Smash Direct
>b-but it doesn't count!
pathetic

Ok so they didn't reveal anyone and you're already making excuses.

Pretty damn good. Every game was solid to watch, even dbfz and newcomers like samsho and unist was interesting and fast. All the reveals other than capcom was top tier.

support samsho you fucks. Don't make me beat that ass

Attached: 1564356199048.png (1137x781, 1.43M)

Fuck you, Inoshikacho-man. I was rooting for Valle.

Did they give a release date for PC version?

more disappointing every year
or is that my life?

SamSho's "The World" time freeze was the hypest shit.

I think i'm going to buy tekken.
should I buy Any DLC with it?
when does the season 3 DLC become avaliable?

The DLC characters are Eliza (from Tekken Revolution, she was a prototype for 2D-style characters and as such she's somewhat similar to Akuma), Geese, Noctis, Anna, Lei Armor King, Marduk, Julia, and Negan. You don't need to buy them unless you have an attachment to them from a previous game, but Geese is very strong and Noctis is very beginner friendly (but may teach you to mash too much). There's also Tekken Bowling as a mode as DLC which is a fun side game but a bit expensive for what it is.

Should I buy the season passes or the individual characters?

>Honda/Lucia/Poison for SFV
Meh, Honda and lucia look kinda okay I guess, I kinda checked out on SF5 a while ago
>Zafina/Leeroy and other stuff for T7 S3 (along with a weird tease for Snake?)
Zafina looks hot and Leeroy looks badass
>Janemba for DBFZ (with Gogeta tease)
meh
>Cassandra & Haohmaru for SCVI S1&2
Been waiting on my main since launch and Im glad its still getting some love
>Shizumaru & Mina for SamSho S1&2
SNK continues to impress
>Akatsuki & Blitztank (Blitzkampf), Yumi (Senran), Neo (RWBY), etc. for BBTag 2.0
Loling at the Blitztank memes becoming real
>UNICLR with the ice guy
Been thinking about picking this up for a while now, might jump in with the new installment.
>Granblue Vs has a beat-em-up style Story
mode
Oh yeah, that happened
>King of Fighters XV
>new Guilty Gear with even better visuals and black Jetstream Sam
looking forward to seeing more of these on down the line.

What ever happened to that allegation that he beat his wife? Did the bitch just lie to take his money? Or did everyone just forgive him.

Attached: 1564582409688.gif (540x300, 2.03M)

>BBTag being surprisingly fun in Top 8
Not with Rubitch winning yet again.

Passes will be cheaper if you want everything (or all but like one thing) that's in them, but that's not a necessity unless you're really into trying as many characters as possible in the lab. Maybe get the game while it's on sale if you're going to get it (I'm pretty sure it's on sale now), do research on it as you learn the basics, and then if you really feel like one of the DLC is your character, then get them, and if you want to practice with the whole roster, get them all.

I got DBFZ's Season Passes but I'm a lab monster that loves to play around with every character in every game so it's worth the money even if I don't main them all.

I liked seeing Koji and that Jubei player, plus not having followed the game I think Akihiko being meta is cool. Also knowing nothing about RWBY Yang is fun to watch.

I hope the new Guilty Gear is next-gen exclusive and adopt the SFV update model of in-game currency/real money to purchase characters.

>Another year of FGCucks seething about Smash
Don't worry, us Smashchads will continue single handedly funding your dead genre's events.

>220k

I dont know, you can never follow everything, just some tops and grandfinals.
I completely missed this last day, but the first days were fun
Fuck ads, SF V ones are extremely annoying
Alright. The problem is that most of it we already knew it would be a thing, others were highly rumor and not suprising at all except for Haoh which was a nice surprise. Now only Smash is missing a SNK rep

Smash had the least amount of viewership growth.

So much for being popular.

>cope cope cope
will you smashfags ever stop seething about the FGC? Literally got the most views and your'e still obsessed over "dying games" not dying.

Attached: 1564946013564.png (1280x720, 673K)

Get season passes on sale. Around Evo they are always much cheaper, but if you miss around that time keep lurking until they go down again

>Geese in Tekken
>Terry in FEXL
>Iori in Million Arthur
>Haohmaru in SCVI
Kyo is in Smash, confirmed.

I was expecting SC6 and Samsho to be boring but I was really blown away. Considering getting SC6 now. The T7 and DBFZ gandfinals were my highlights. kazumi was boring to watch after a while but Knee constantly showing off his array of characters from paul to kazuya to devil jin was insane.

New fucking guilty gear looks amazing, and SNK making kof15, every game getting a new season, I think there's too much fighting games news for me to take in honestly. Next few years are gonna be tough to determine which games stay and which left get left behind besides SF, tekken and smash.

youtu.be/vAJUvy4ibeA
Is it just me, or Ky is so buff-macho now?
Is that even Ky?

some people are saying thats sin not ky

>Literally got the most views and your'e still obsessed over "dying games" not dying.
Guess they're the ones coping lmao

>If I don't burst, I lose
>If I burst, I have to stall out for the rest of my gauge, then win the next round without it
clips.twitch.tv/RacyCogentFennelGivePLZ
He was put in a rough position really. And if we're going with Samsho moments, then Kaz was playing really well against JWong with his parries. Shame he couldn't do it again against Infil and make the GF a little closer, but Genjuro has so many options it's probably too risky to go for.
clips.twitch.tv/EnticingApatheticAsteriskPMSTwin

Good numbers across the board this year really. IIRC the peaks were:
SCVI: ~50k
UNIST: no clue, I'd assume ~60k
DBFZ: 105k or so
SamSho: 57k
MK11: 73k
BBTag: ~65k
SFV: ~205k
T7: Barely hit 210k in the final round of GF, I noticed that at the time
Smash: currently ~217k and they're still on Losers Semis

Current record is still ~250k for DBFZ last year though, the hype in that game's early days was massive.

Thanks anons

Sin has an eyepatch, that's Ky's sword, and I'm pretty sure you see a Greed Sever in the footage. That's Ky.

The WFs and GFs in DBFZ was hype as fuck. Seeing GO1's tears and Sonicfox's sportsmanship at losing was the most wholesome thing ever.

unist was like 90k

Its just falseflaggers trying to stir shit up. They've been pretending to be smashfags for the past week without even paying attention to basic stuff. One "smashfag" said that evo starts on sunday because thats when smash starts when smash started on friday with the rest.

9/10
-1 for female caster

Attached: 1564436982185.png (1920x1080, 2M)

pleasantly surprised that fighterz was so hype, winner finals was nuts

>One "smashfag" said that evo starts on sunday because thats when smash starts when smash started on friday with the rest.
Sounds like an elaborate bait to ruse casuals into not watching Pools and hurting viewcounts. Big brain scene sabotage strats.

Isn't this just Sm4sh? 'cause it feels just as boring as that game.

Dont forget DoA6

>never played or watch Smash 4 and Ultimate: the post

samsho def went higher than 57k

SNK whoring out their characters to literally everybody is a solid strategy to make the FGC as a whole to care. I wouldn't be surprised if they add some characters to BBTag if that game lives beyond 2.0

Maybe my stream's view counter froze or something but I never saw it go above maybe 60k and that was right at the tail end.

with that recent update trailer I think it'll be around for oen more year. Im surprised at the how much growth fighting games have had lately

Pretty weak. SFV was fine at the start but Rashid really took away at the enjoyment. Tekken was hilarious. The Pakistani was spamming the same move and beat Knee lol. Didn't watch BabyTag and Smash.

DBFZ ended up having the most hype top 8. Even though I hate how the game is right now. Fenrich keeping the matches entertaining outside of Go1 vs Sonicfox was an underrated factor as to why that top 8 was so good.

I'm shocked that UNIST was a boring as it was. They had 2 mikas and an endiku that jobbed. Clearlamp's run at combobreaker was more hype than this. Two setplay characters aren't exciting to watch.

BBTAG was pretty fun to watch, Shinku earned that win. I hope more people realize the value of anti air 4ps, he got so much mileage from that.

Tekken 7 wasn't that hype outside of Arslan vs Knee. Though Nobi was Lowhigh was a good match. I'm glad we are getting a season 3 so more people can put time into it.

Soul Calibur gets honorable mention for having a pretty damn good top 8. I was one of the many who dropped the game after the first week but I'm going to give it another try after evo. Especially now that I heard they nerfed reversal edge.

Attached: 1563461388440.png (1920x1080, 1.52M)

Was DBFZ one of the top featured games? I missed this entire thing.

Attached: 1562648022128.png (442x331, 228K)

Yes. It was on Saturday because its Top 8 ran really long last year and it saw a big dip in entrants (~2500 to ~1300) but it was actually very good. Top 32 was really enjoyable and Top 8 was my favorite of the main games.
>Hirohiro making Top 8 Winners with a fucking 17 team
>Shanks constantly doing better and better in majors with his 18
>Multiple Teen Gohans in Top 8
>GO1 vs SonicFox sets are fucking incredible and we got two of them; their history has lead their offense/defensive to be unbelievably layered when playing each other
>Fenritti keeping the Cell AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA alive all the way to 3rd place

Thats a sign of faggotry. Sad!

T7 peaked at 249k

This reminds me of when someone said Shin Megami Tensei games had Undertale mechanics

>with DBFZ art style

Attached: wtf3.gif (320x240, 1.01M)

I went off of main evo stream's numbers, not Twitch-wide, although that's probably better since the JP Language official stream generally added 5-12k and there were multiple 3-5k restreams going on.

I'm new-ish to fighting games. We owned SC2 and some of the old SF's growing up, but I never played fighting games seriously til SFV in 2016. The only fighting games I really play are SFV, SC6, and SamSho. Tekken doesn't appeal to me personally.
I thought Evo was really entertaining. Some really hype SamSho stuff, and cool SFV tech I hadn't seen used before. I never played one of them, but the new Guilty Gear looks pretty, and has great music. Might have to follow it. Hyped to see Haohmaru in SC.
Overall, it was a lot of fun. Looking forward to buying the SFV bundle tomorrow and playing the three characters.

>believing roasties
>ever
Lmao, user!

I've never played a Guilty Gear, but is it possible this is a series reboot? I don't know shit, but didn't that character have short hair in the early games?

this looks fucking insane. they really nailed the mix between 2D and 3D anime styles.

Daisuke cares too much about the story he's told to reboot it, even if said story is fucking nonsense and told in the most asinine way.

Guilty Gear is basically entirely Daisuke Ishiwatari's baby. He designs the characters, writes the story, writes AND performs the music, is the face of the PR for the series, and has input on the gameplay and balance. The only things he's ever done for other video games is compose music and you can tell his passion isn't in his BlazBlue and Hard Corps Uprising songs. Guilty Gear is his life, and he'll put in as many weird westaboo 70s-90s rock/metal and anime references as possible because it's got it's fans that give him money for it.

need to get the normalfags interested for more clicks.

I really doubt it, because the convoluted ass plot was sort of about to close

bbtag had 85k during GF.

Hey Ian.

How the nigger furry faggot performed this year? I've herd he was in fof DBZ and Islam Cuckbat 11.

Entered SCVI but didn't get particularly far, 2nd in DBFZ because GO1 achieved godhood, 1st in MK11 because he's basically unstoppable in both NRS games and the first 6 months of games.

>no samsho in the montage

Attached: 1539356538624.jpg (379x214, 33K)

>Shinku earned that win
No, he didn't. He used Rubitch. Also, did you watch SamSho? That was hype.

Where the hell has Seth Killian been? Seeing him again made me realize that its been a while since I heard his name.

>King of fighters XV

I can hear the marriachi's playing all the way here in eastern europe. Must wild in Mexico right now

>skipped Samsho in highlight reel
hmm
It's funny because toby said that one of the inspirations was the negotiation system from megaten

Attached: 11221283.gif (449x244, 189K)

SC6 was great, dampened only by shrieking, budget Yipes
SamSho was great, between Uncle Valle's run and Infiltration making HOES MAD
MK11, watched very little, NRS games bore me to tears
DBFZ was kinda repetitive to watch, but the Go1-Fox rivalry made for good games when they met
SFV was solid and Bonchan finally getting that first place finish was wholesome, including how he brought out his Sagat for a good portion of Top 8
Tekken wasn't something I really watched before, but I enjoyed it
BBTAG - couldn't care one way or the other
UNIST - the anime game that I actually ended up enjoying watching

HOES MAD

Dude is still around. Shows up sometimes for capcom cups.

If you only watch evo, you've been missing him because he was doing the commentary for the ESPN broadcasts.

So fresh, I’ll take two

Kof/SNK general was popular in western Europe too, at least in the '90. I remember some SNK employees came in my arcade a couple of times and stayed to fight with us the whole afternoon.

What were the commentators apologizing for during the smash finals? I looked away and missed it.

He was fight a Mitsuru/Akihiko. He had the weaker team.
Really glad all the Mitsu/Yuzu's got washed. Fuck that team.

Ah, Ive not watched much of any Capcom streams for a while now so thats why.

gllty still wasting everyone's time

One of the best in the past decade, seriously. No melee and pretty much every game had consistently great matches.

he's back

Attached: 5688-1163103633.jpg (370x390, 109K)

No one even made fun of your fucking game here, stop being so conflictive.
You're making your community look bad.

Pretty much only watched SamSho, tag and UNIST
Genjuro as a character was a buzzkill but Infiltration made it exciting enough. Was sad Aroo didnt make it into top 8.

The 2nd set with Ohito taking the round on 2C after the corner web setup was the hypest shit I had ever seen holy shit. But overall he was dropping all over the place, I guess tournament nerves really got to him.
Shinku helped me a lot with learning bbtag, so I'm really glad he won.

I don't care about Tekken so the announcement went over my head.

Though am happy to see SC6 still getting support, so might get back into the game.

Still fucking hate SFV and their V-Triggers/reversals.

Hope KOFXV will be good. Hyped for UNCLR. Can't wait to play Basara for SamSho. Didnt care about the new BBTAG dlc, literally only waiting for Scharla to make it in, but I'm hoping the balance patches to be good.

8/10 overall I guess. I don't care about smash or tekken, but all the games I cared about gave a good time.

Never played a Tekken game in my life but 7 looked cool as fuck this year. Why is every fight played at such close range?

>Viewership growth
Is this the new meme?

how else would you hit them

Because movement in tekken is fast as shit so you always have to be super close.

what are you talking about they show stage transitions, autocombos, what appears to be dynamic camera angles in regular combos and for reversals, new moves for both characters and new uses for old moves like sols air bb knockdown. The fact that the trailer showed a complete redesign for every character probably means we won't have the full cast back either.

As long as he didnt bring his touch of death shit with him, its all good.

gran blue is literally being made for people like you. dbzf, samsho and sfv are all good places to start right now.

>Physically made it impossible to dashblock

Damn, was SFIV THAT good of a fighter?

I think the announcements were better last year but having Under Night made this one of the more enjoyable EVOs.

did anyone besides Smash cultists actually enjoy it though? it feels the same as Smash 4 to me. like the game is literally just an asset flip with some tweaked mechanics

the characters physically move/fly faster, but other than that it looks a lot like smash 4 to me too

10/10 announcements this year. Literally every announcement was hype as shit. I did not expect that much Samsho news + an additional reveal and free character, and I did not expect SC6 to actually stick around much. New GG is also best timeline. Tekken season 3 sounds amazing as always. 2020 is going to be a great year for fgs.

sonicfox is only good at low skill ceiling games

It's a different game for sure, even if it's not as a radical change as the other Smash games were.

I didn't even bother to watch the finals. Fighting games are in a pretty sad state right now.

WINDJAMMERS TWO BAY BAAAAAY/10

> Literally got the most views
Still mad the adults dont consider their party a game fighting game. Doesn't matter how many views you get if the main group doesn't care.

The difference from smash 4 is massive if you're a smash autist, but anyone who wasn't already invested into smash wouldn't notice a difference.

Too embarrassed to show that they main staged a game with literally zero combos

It plays almost nothing like Sm4sh. It's a lot closer to Melee than anything.

Too many one sided grand finals: Unist, SF, and Samsho were all easy sweeps. Tekken was cool. Smash's casters were horribly biased but had a great choke. Didn't watch MK because shy would I? SC6 was by far the best.

Oh DBZ was cool but not very memorable.

I think a more objective view is that the main fgc plays traditional fighting games and doesn't accept smash because of its playstyle. Smashfags formed a big respectable community of their own but the stigma of "not a fighting game" can only really be broken if the main fgc says so because they're still the main community of fighting games. So while getting the most views is nice, in the larger scope of things it doesnt really matter to players in main FGC because communities don't really mix at all.

Its the same if the situation was reverse, if UNIST and MK11 suddenly got really popular and smash became the unpopular choice, it wouldn't matter to smashfags because the core community of smashfags just like their game.

Get good.

GO1 is the god of kusoge

>I think Arcsys is stretched too thin and that means GG will probably have a small roster too or be a bad game.
They've been doing this 2.5D for a while now and vast majority of the games they developed have made money.
There's no way they are going to drop the ball on GG while Ishiwari still lives.

No Melee is a plus.

ok so whos the best overall fighting game player?

This, I was not a Sonic Fox fan before, but damn he was so wholesome.

in terms of breadth, Kazunoko I want to say.
He kinda appears everywhere with no specific niche.

It goes both ways really. I dont have the chart on me but its been consistent throughout the years. The percentage of entrants who enter only smash and viewers who watch only smash is higher than any of the other games. The closest we got was Leffen entering DBFZ, but thats about it and he didnt stick with the game either. You don't see anyone else who's prominent in a smash game but also prominent in another franchise. Both sides would have to reach out to each other for integration. Even competitive catherine is more of a part of the FGC than smash right now.

First Evo like ever I didn't watch. Same with my friends who are all fighting game fanatics. Wouldn't be shocked if it starts declining now

Kayame "animeing" and floating away from Student's Mitsurugi was fucking hilarious for me.

I missed most of it because of work. How did my wife Tanukana place?

Can people tell the difference between the new Street Fighters or Tekkens? They all look the same

yeah they can.

>still racking on cash and attention without winning anything

I wish I could be Daigo

Forgot to watch SC, heard the finals were good so I'll check 'em out later
UNIST - was fun. Not as hype as some previous top 8s have been.
UNI cl-r looks like a substantial update, hoping for more characters than just Londrekia
SamSho - was fun. Infiltration making people seethe was entertaining too. Hope they do something about Genjuro ASAP
DBFZ - didn't watch, don't enjoy watching it, and don't care about the GO1 / SonicFox rivalry
MK11 - didn't watch, don't care
BBTAG - was fun. Happy for Shinku
Tag 2.0 looks good. Like all the roster additions
SFV - it was what it was. Happy for Bonchan
SamSho announcements were great, was hoping for more news on KOF15 than just a logo
Tekken - it was what it was. I'm not super into watching this game, and generally don't get the hype surrounding it
Tekken updates were nice. Hope the other characters are a bit more exciting
Hyped for Guilty, need more info though. Hope the roster isn't gutted.
SmashU - was surprisingly enjoyable, but absolutely horrible commentary. Feel bad for Tweek, the guy completely choked

Can't rate it, but I enjoyed it overall

That song and the stage transitions are fucking insane.
Too bad the new character looks straight out of BB.

>UNI cl-r looks like a substantial update, hoping for more characters than just Londrekia
the only announce characters one at a time Phonon was the only new character in [st] for a while there

All that matters is that SonicFox lost, fuck that scumbag faggot.

>Every company brings something fun to announce
>Except Nintendo which adds in the most competitive unfriendly character ever days prior

any afterparty streams and the like?
post evo depression is hitting me hard

How long until the Smash smell is gone from he stage?

ITT: Posts that didn't age well

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAAHA

>idiots tuning in to try and see a character trailer is the same as having legitimate viewers
No.

>what about the other games?
>"n-nah lol cope"
Feels good having the most viewership, the most entrants, and being the main event.

Feels good being delusional too.

Why?

cope harder lmao

New Guilty Gear destroyed any hype I may have had for other games but I'm still very ahppy that SCVI is getting continued support with a new season.

It was really quite good. I didn't see mk11 but I don't think there's a single top 8 I'd rate below a 7/10, and sc6 top 8 was absolutely blessed

This holy shit

yeah

Goichi fucking dieing.

BB music is his best since XX tho. That's where he could finally do more varied compositions and genres. Hell it's still better than his Xrd stuff.

Like that‘ll ever come out. Riot is just a welfare program.

she placed 65th.
also new bikini pics

tanukana, p-pls go out with me

You just know

>It's funny though that being mainly sponsored by PS4 made plenty of reveals get leaked weirdly.
There's no relation. SFV leak was Valve's fuck up (they admitted it), BBTAG leak was the ASW official YouTube channel uploading it early. Janemba was leaked by Nintendo UK and a couple months before in a Microsoft stream. Tekken's new info didn't leak at all. SNK didn't leak at all. Only Soul Calibur's Cassandra got leaked by PSN and even then, only her name got mentioned without trailer.

Is there full crowd footage of GO1 vs SonicFox?

>dbfz
Actually was hype as fuck even though I'm not a fan of the game. That grand finals even made me nervous.
>sfv
Ok. Rashid vs Karin isn't really that interesting but Big Bird made Rashid fun to watch
>tekken 7
Worst grand finals it ever had at EVO. Watching Arslan do nothing but 1,1 and df1 30 times every round was dull and I ended up just browsing Yea Forums to kill time. Shame cos T7 is my favourite fighter this gen but the grand finals were plain awful.

Didn't watch the others.

Absolutely trash production with nonstop issues. The guy responsible shouldn't be hired a second time. Games were good though.
