There's basically no reason not to use Training Claw + for a good 75% of the game. Claw mt is so minor that the lower weight more than make up for it, and training ones got solid hit and a lot of durability. Raphael started using killer claws instead of wooden tonfas on the 3rd to last mission

Ignatz is a huge mixed bag. I personally see him more as an Assassin with access to great support both in Seal Strength and Rally, while having the ability to accurately finish off enemies thanks to his personal skill. He's a weird unit to figure out, to say the least.

You probably made her sit in armor class for a long time, Armor class gimp speed growth hard. I try to keep Armor only gfor units that won't ever use speed, so Gauntlet people and tanks like Dedue. Brave Weapons + Quick Riposte render speed mostly unimportant late game.

Just completed GD's version of Battle of Eagle/Lion 2 featuring people actually fucking dying. Who the hell figured it was okay to have Dmitri die off-screen or decided that petra gets to run away but Bernie dies on the hill? Also does Dmitiri get a horse unique class in his route? Master Bandit for Deathblow, then Grappler while waiting for warmaster. then master warmaster and fist for +10 crit.

Now, you can upgrade iron claws to killer claws, have warmaster 20% crit, S fist 10% crit, and insta gib anything you hit in melee. Warmaster Quick riposte make you always get 2X attack on riposte. Raphael learns Healing Focus which heal him for 50% of his health, and he has around 80 hp by endgame.

The game constantly gifts you units on par or above the difficulty level every few chapters. You cam easily beat the game without active recruitment, only accepting those who come to you, and only using byleth/lord and the most recent units.

In fact, recruiting a number of units early is a net negative for you, because you'll get them anyway and they come at higher levels without needing to spend any XP on them.
