Can you sell me on Samurai Shodown? Is it worth 50 burgerbux if I’ve never touched the series? I always like weapon based fightans like SC, and I even prefer games that reward good defense. So I would have thought it would be in my wheelhouse, but it seemed slow even for me. Also, I fucked up with the timed demo (left my PS4 on while I cooked dinner, using up the entirety of the demo without getting to play) and didn’t watch any of it at EVO.

But their announcements and the crossover with SC has piqued my interest. Can any of you guys weigh in? How is the population on PS4?

Getting pretty bored of KoF, was never a fan of SamSho. How about a new Last Blade, Garou or Metal Slug instead.

Yeah, animation would be a problem for Gedo, but he is one of the most requested characters and won the VSpecial side tournament at EVO this year

Technically it is slow and defensive. But when playing it feels tense and fast pace. Every little move matters and can take off most of your life. But basic defensive mechanics are strong, and it has a lot of defensive mechanics because of it. Just watch some of the evo matches, it seems slow at first but you notice how much everyone is doing and suddenly it seems very fast.

The game is also pretty unique with how stuff works. take recoil. Many blocked normals create a recoil animation that can go into any special or deflect. So a block normal creates a guessing game, which if the player in recoil fucks up is deadly. But you can really do long pressure like most games, you do a move, recoil and then have to make a guess not in your favour. After that the pressure is over and you are in neutral again. Very few moves are plus on block. It creates weird situations.

This was already known to be coming at one of SNK's investor presentations last year.
