By what measurement? Adventures wasn't even a Star Fox game to begin with, it was basically a spinoff. Assault was like a 7/10, a fine game that could have been improved. Command had a dogshit story that involved her front and center, but the writing for EVERY character was awful in that game, it was like a shitty soap opera. Star Wolf in particular didn't behave anything like their previous appearances. Zero didn't involve her at all and was still a bland, unimaginative hunk of shit.

The worst thing about Assault is the story, and the tacked on rail stages that tried to be like classic Starfox in a half assed manor. Everything else was fine.

She made me realize how great scalies dominating anthros is.

It wasn't that bad, either. If they ever made a sequel they could have improved the mechanics and designed a campaign from scratch instead of cobbling it together out of multiplayer stages.

The shooting missions were also repetitive since they nearly arrived always destroy all the targets in a multiplayer stage.

Reminder that Krystal was 19 and Fox was 26 in Adventures. Also, she spent here hormone riddled teen years surrounded by buff reptiles and her early adolescence in a cramped spaceship filled with exhausted, lonely guys wearing that.

Namely free roam stages that consist of something other than a flat, featureless plain where the objective is to shoot down enemies that lazily fly in circles. The on-rails stages were a holdover from 64, personally I don't care if a SF game has those or not: my favorite one is 2, which has none at all. I didn't mind the on-foot stuff too much, they could improve the controls or maybe even eliminate "on-foot" gameplay entirely and instead have it like Starlink where your ship can switch between high-speed flight and more controllable hovering along the ground.

Do they just have no fucking clue where to take the series? They had a solid direction to go in with Assault despite the rail gun sections needing better controls/physics and the TPS sections having mediocre level design. They could choose to go back in the Rail Shooter direction and focus more on the 'episodic movie' feel or the arcade aspects. They could focus on the TPS, make some large maps, better levels, more weapons, better controls, more multiplayer. They could even go fucking open world with open ended missions. Why can't they just make a fucking new Starfox game and not remake 64 yet again?

Animal Crossing models already existed in HD with Plaza, so thinking that they would never use them for more than a shitty party game focused on amiibos is/was naive. You could really tell that Nintendo was stalling the fuck out of the Wii U with their 2015 E3. Good lord was it bad. They didn't even bother doing an actual presentation for 2016, and just spent that time streaming Breath of the Wild gameplay.

I genuinely believe that Zero would have been much more successful if it had Krystal in it, considering she is the gateway furry fap for a very large chunk of that internet subculture, to the point where she's one of the few characters associated with the "everyone's furry for X, so it's okay, you're not actually a furry" thing, which Renamon is also frequently lumped categorized as. Would Star Fox Zero have sold better if it was released earlier in the Wii U life? The main reason why Zero failed was because they a) forced an awkward control scheme onto the player that had them constantly switching between two viewpoints to shoot and navigate through the level and b) by the time you actually got used to the controls, the game was already over.

They basically pulled a Kid Icarus Uprising, if the game actually ended within the first 10 chapters.

I see fan communities making fan models as a sign that the character is still liked on some level. And it reminds developers not to forget about said character. Though admittedly I don't like Krystal's fan models, furries may be talented and driven, but they don't do a good job at rendering fur. This is where professional developers could excel as they have a higher tier of skill and can render fur better.

And for what it's worth? Female characters who don't have a chance in hell of ever getting a model created? Fan models is better than nothing, looking at examples like say Lola Bunny.
