>apparently the best controller
>only one player who uses one made top 8 in a game
Apparently the best controller
>use an arcade stick so you can play the game as the developer intended
>use an arcade stick so you can go to arcades in countries that still have them
>use a keyboard because computers are everywhere
>use a hitbox because uhhhhhhhhh
The hitbox has been around forever and no one wanted to use it, players just stick to what they're used to and people have nostalgia for arcade sticks.
If theh top 8 were all using one, you'd still be bitching about it
Yeah, but no one who uses one is actually any good. Can't teach you neutral.
those top 8 players generally have been playing so long they've conditioned themselves to using their preferred controller already. You'll probably see more hitboxes in top placements in a few years but it's not going to suddenly make anyone better at fighting games by any means
Why is it the best controller...?
What did he mean by this?
What's the point of spending out the ass for a hitbox instead of just using a keyboard?
I have genuinely been wondering this from day one.
because moving with a stick takes longer and is less precise than pressing a button.
connectivity to a ps4, also there is a small chance you might fat finger another key on a keyboard
buttons and you look less dumb
>connectivity to a ps4,
So play the PC version
>also there is a small chance you might fat finger another key on a keyboard
I don't see this being a problem, but if it's that big of a deal, just remove the unneeded keys so you end up with the same sot of pattern as the hitbox
>tournaments using the pc version
I wish
>there is a small chance you might fat finger another key on a keyboard
Yes, and?
Keyboards have too many keys for games, the keys you don't use will not do anything, therefore there's no issue with pressing them by accident. But with a good layout you won't be pressing them unless you mean "fat fingers" in the literal sense because you weight more than 400lbs.
>connectivity to a ps4
PS4s already natively support keyboards and you can map buttons to them.
>there is a small chance you might fat finger another key on a keyboard
But another key won't be bound to anything so it doesn't matter anyway.
I get the utility of the product, I just don't understand why anyone would buy one at the price point, it's exorbitantly high for what you're actually getting.
>already natively support keyboards
pretty sure this is only for select games like WoWarships and FFXIV
>apparently the best controller
according to people that got conned into buying one
You're still pushing a button to fucking jump. You're gonna look dumb no matter what.
The fact that they made one of these for Smash is beyond stupid.
>analog
>fucking buttons
Wouldn't it depend on the game? Circles seem like they'd be hard to do in a pinch on a Hitbox.
they only did it because a pro player was trying to make his own because he broke his fucking hands
apparently his is an improvement in every way conceivable
If you've ever played DDR or Stepmania you'd know circles are easier to do on a keyboard than on a stick once you get the muscle memory.
2 button presses for quarter circles and 3 button presses for half circles are much easier than moving a stick around
hitbox is the best way to play FGC. The consistency and control is way higher than a stick.
That being said a stick is still more fun.
Honestly the design on the hitbox looks shit af. Who actually wants to play with their hands touching like that? Jumping with both thumbs is not worth all that.
That's what's been putting me off too. The super hitbox they've been showing off with a stick as well as a hitbox looks even more ridiculous
It hardly matters if the game isn't high execution.
