I'm a little confused as to the usage of some of these (or the lack thereof), since Mario, Sonic, Cloud and Bayo have something good to give tot he scene.
Certain characters like Marth, Roy, Daisy, Chrom and Pichu kinda make sense for why they aren't there, since the toolkits are already present in the top 32.
It's a peculiar list of characters for people to run with though.

I do remember a match of Ally vs Zachray, and I recall Ally being able to secure a kill numerous times near the end and literally doing nothing in front of Zachray's wolf, ultimately costing him the match.

It was very uncharacteristic of a person with as much high level pressure experience as Ally. And I remember feeling like it was weird.

Not absolving Ally in any way, but it is a shame to see him gone and there is a definite void I feel (especially since I was a Snake main).

"Balanced" is objectively better than tippers or hilters. Because it isn't balanced at all. Their entire sword is nearly equivalent to a tip/hilt attack and they also benefit from consistent horizontal knockback that leads to edgeguard situations more often. They aren't balanced around having balanced swords at all.

I love fighting Link, I love watching them try setting up their bomb and launching it in different ways, and sometimes pulling off a well placed explosion. Toon Links are rare and completely unremarkable to me. Young Links are absolute hell to fight whether you win or lose, it's either absolutely exhausting or absolutely frustrating. Sometimes I blow them out completely and I have no idea how I do it, but it's heavenly when it happens.

It is fun, give it a shot sometime.

A lot of his moves are incredibly easy to shield and are too laggy. For example, his down b. An opponent (even after the buffs) can just shield and walk up to you immediatly after you are done using it. The same goes for a lot of his aerials.

Because Marth's jab in that game was stupidly good and gave him a big edge over Lucina, but they removed it in ultimate.

I feel like Hero will be a shitter stomper. All his specials do ridiculous damage and kill super early, but his normals are slow as fuck and his disadvantage is awful. Someone like Leo will dab on hero mains.

roy is arguably better than chrom but that's only because roy's sweetspots are like 60-75% of his sword now instead of 50% or lower like they used to be in previous games
also chrom's recovery is terrible

if chrom had roy's up b he'd probably be a hell of a lot better than roy

Smash 4 Marth was better for 3 reasons.
1: his tipper hitboxes were patched to be much easier to land and made him stronger than Lucina (on average)
2: his jab was extremely good and could combo into tipper f-tilt which gave him a very safe kill-combo that outclassed Lucina's equivalent by quite a bit.
3: Marth's down throw could combo into tipper up-air at high percents, which is also something that gave him an edge over Lucina.

And all of these were removed in Ultimate which is why he sucks now. Tipper hitboxes are now very small and inconsistent, jab-combos were removed entirely and his down throw no longer combos at high-percents. There's really no reason to play him over Lucina anymore unless you enjoy getting less reward for nothing in return.
Play Ultimate Marth long enough and I guarantee you will really start getting fed up with him. You will clearly land tipper hits but the game just won't give them to you half the time. I wish they would fix it but that would only create yet another high-tier swordfaggot.
